I just checked with Michigan roofing codes and there is no such change in layers. Double layer is acceptable in all Michigan cities. I also checked Go To Roofing for verbiage. Posted on their site shows they do double layer roofing. I don't like being conned. I believed rep as being trustworthy. I did have an option but it wasn't given to me. I called roofing due to possible leak in upstairs back bedroom.

They misrepresented the quality of the shingles. We were told they were the same quality as we had and they weren't. We ordered one color and later told we had to order another color. Our neighbor used the same company and we were assured they were not waiting to do both jobs on the same day. We had our order in ahead of theirs and guess what, both were done in one day. My husband had to go over to the roofers and say, we are first. We were charged for the dumpster rental as was our neighbors and we shared the one dumpster. It was just one thing after another with this company. When the roofers finally showed up the job they did was so-so. There were ripples in the roof edge and we asked them to fix it. It was because we had metal gutter guards on our gutters. So instead of taking the time to do the job correctly, they cut them! Yes, cut them. It voided our warranty and ended up costing us an additional $475 to replace them. Roof Advisor offered to install some cheap plastic ones, telling us that was industry standard and my own research proved that to be untrue. They would have been down the street the first storm we had. By the time the roofers arrived I had lost all confidence in this company, but the supplies had been sitting on our roof for weeks. The supplies were delivered, the shingles put on the roof and the accessories next to the house. It was taking so long after delivery my senior husband had to move it to the garage so it wouldn't be damaged or stolen. It was over two months from the first date we were given until the poor work was done. No permits were filed and we had to ask for that to be done. We had to remind the roofers that the vent needed to be installed, they were in the dumpster. There was poor communication, poor salemanship, poor information related, and just a poor company in all. The company who came to replace the gutter guards said we should send a copy of the bill to Roof Advisor because it was appalling what they did. No reputable company would do this. So, there you have it. No, we did not send the bills because we know it would do no good. Save yourself the aggravation and go with another company.

Dominic did a complete inspection before telling us our options. He walked around on the roof and took photos. He did not try to talk us into any upgrades, but we decided since the roof was old, we'd ask for the shingles and any decking to be repaired. We decided we wanted the medium excellence option. We also asked for attic blown-in insulation, new gutters, and gutter shields. Dominic told us they'd put in some attic vents. In the end, they took it down to the rafters! As we had to be away when they started, Dominic was in touch with us on the phone or by email every step of the way, and answered every question. Roof Advance gave our little old house the boost it needed! It looks great, and, we have peace of mind knowing that we won't have to climb up to clean the gutters any more. The porch was cracking and pieces were falling off of it. The sidewalk was uneven and pitting. I looked into several contractors and landed on MI Remodelers. Due to minimal concrete deliveries, I originally was sold on a replacement porch & walk, with a cement evergreen edging and a large pad to place trash bins on. After agreeing to the contract, I just did not have the funds to cover everything and had to cancel the day after signing. Gary (the owner) came to my house discuss the cancelation. He said he would wave any minimal concrete requirements, do a custom concrete porch with walkway only and made me a good offer to do it. I agreed and Gary handled the job details himself. A month after signing the new agreement I had a great porch and walk. Thank you Gary and your team at MI Remodelers. I highly recommend this company.

Rapid came out claimed they were submitting samples to GAF for warrnaty replacemnt .April 2026 they patched bad areas and claimed GAF found no quality issues and closed case (Initial case took 6 months start to finish) . Aug 2026 more leaks 11 across entire roof .waited 13 days for rapid to respond they made repairs that DID NOT address leaks . I Called GAF (Shingle Manufacturer ) and found out they NEVER Submitted samples !( can you say FRAUD) In addition Rapid Roof not GAF closed my case on April 13 2026 claiming it was no longer needed because they had REPLACED MY ROOF ! This was a total lie .Stay away from these people they are sugary sweet on the phone and in person but when truly needed they are never around and NEVER return calls !Bill Beaty the original owner has passed and the new owners are running this business into the ground ! Beware!!!!At present there are over 2 dozen problem areas !!
