What a fun spot. The bartender made me a coffee drink to start the day of hiking. She also gave me some good tips on where go and what hikes had the best views. I went back after a couple of hikes and had to try the Arizona prickly pear margarita. It was worth all the sweat and up hill hikes. I will definitely be going back. Get a breakfast burrito from the deli then eat it at the saloon with a coffee caramel whisky drink. You won't be disappointed.

This little saloon seems to be a decently hidden gem within the Grand Canyon! The bartender was very pleasant and funny. He was by himself but did a good job to keep up with everyone and keep the wait time down. I had a Canyon coffee which was amazing as well as 2 slices of pepperoni pizza. This place doesn't require a reservation and their pizza was great! I would give this a bar-like atmosphere mixed with your local coffee shop so it is definitely a unique, must-try place!

Delicious amber beer and pizza slice was okay! My suggestion...pop popcorn and bag it!

Our first experience was a 3, but the 2nd visit was a 5, so 4 average. (The only reason we came…read moreback was because it's so busy at the other restaurants you need a reservation. We were not even there at peak season, and it was a weekday. Definitely plan your restaurants well in advance.) I think the difference was this: what you order and what time you go. The burgers are great. The vegetarian options are excellent, particularly the quinoa tofu bowl. The pot roast was dreadful - a pile of fat the size of my fist. The burrito was extremely average and mostly onions. The service in early dinner hour is excellent, super attentive and friendly. As it gets later and busier it's still friendly but you're pretty much on your own, no waters refilled or check-ins. The building itself is a must-see and worth going. There's a lot of vegetation, so don't come here for the views.

Think about what it takes to get food and labor 100 miles from a major metropolitan area. The prices are reasonable and the food was serviceable. I had a burger with fries. It was cooked properly and the fries were hot and tasty. The bun could have been toasted a bit better I suppose. Our server, Summer, was friendly and attentive. The bar was clean and organized and we were at one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Come on people...this is pretty good based on the challenges they face.

Not gonna lie, I was very leery about going here after the reviews on here... some of it I find to…read morebe true, other parts surprised me. It was not my idea to come here my sweet niece was the one who wanted steak and well who am I to tell her no?! We walked into the steakhouse side only to stand there another couple walked in and we were all quickly ushered out by a host, to go sit in the bar area... the host then tried to seat the couple who came in after first which wouldn't have been a huge deal if I didn't have a kid who was starving. Thankfully the other party told him we had been waiting. We were sat at a high top in the bar, and waited.. the bar tender came around and let us know she'd be our waitress, the main waitress was very busy. There was also a man who worked there that kept walking by looking at us. Not sure if we weren't fancy enough or he thought we were going to eat and run or what.. to be fair we were in jeans and a sweatshirt and had just come from the canyon.. I will say the reason we stayed (besides being hungry) was our waitress. She made us feel welcome, and despite being busy checked in regularly. I asked about the filet she said it was truly really good... and my niece got the steak tips. We both enjoyed the dinner... the filet was tender, cooked to a perfect medium... could have used a little more seasoning but still good. The baked potatoes had everything to stuff it with on the side... and the asparagus was delicious and cooked perfectly. Do I think it was 56 good mehhhh but it was still tasty. I had to taste the steak bites and that was delicious too! Fries however were over cooked. Like I said, the bar tender/ waitress came back and checked on us several times - she was great which is why this is a 4 star review not a 3 star. Her kindness is why I am overlooking the other issues we had.
