Wonderful food and service! Waitress was very kind. Food was delicious and had the perfect amount of spice.

Food/Taste/Flavor: 4/5 - sad to say but the burger was the worst item we had 5/5 - Black Bean Soup was very flavorful and salty but enjoyable with the cold weather outside. We would have enjoyed a bigger portion but it felt like we finished it within ten bites. 4/5 - Tater Tot Nachos was a generous serving! Lots of tots smothered in cheese and pico de gallo. Overall was salty as well... even the guacamole was salty 2/5 - Fred Harvey Burger did not have the smokehouse aioli on it and the bread was sort of stale and not heated. For a burger place, the specialty burger was really sad and dry Ambience: 5/5 - rustic feel. While it was around 35 degrees outside, it was very warm inside and the windows were doubled so it seemed very well insulated. Warm and cozy lighting with high ceilings. Fairly quiet so you can enjoy conversation with your party Service: 5/5 - server was friendly and attentive. Didn't rush us as we took our time to enjoy the meal and followed up to ensure we had everything we needed. They were unable to cut the burger in half for us based on our request Value for price: 3/5 - the food was about the same as the Maswik Food Court but more expensive

This has a new name... Harvey Cafe or something like that, very confusing place to find, stumbled on it by accident. Not sure why it's so poorly rated... our server was friendly, the service was quick, and the food was good. Hubs had a chicken sandwich and fries. I had the Turkey bacon wrap and fries. The wrap was well assembled... excellent ratio of turkey to bacon to cheese. Stop by, I can't see how you'll be unhappy.

This was the last place I ate in the Grand Canyon before returning and you know it was pretty good. If Maswik is like the fast food end of the dining spectrum and El Tovar is on the fancier end of the spectrum then Fred Harvey falls squarely in the middle; consider it like the Applebee's of dining options at the South Rim. The wait for FH was so long for lunch/dinner when I went but breakfast was...well it was also long but since I had a few hours to wait for the train to arrive and the trail conditions so bad I didn't feel like continuing any hikes. We still managed to get seated fairly quickly so I got to try eat off the breakfast menu. They had something called breakfast nachos and that seemed interesting. What I ended up getting was ok. It looked like it was put together without any care or attention. It was a couple of pieces of fry bread and then someone basically just dropped a scoop of pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole and then just haphazardly splattered nacho cheese, eggs and some let's say not so appetizing looking sausage. It was definitely something that was ugly delicious though, between that and our server who was friendly and attentive bumps it up a star.

This restaurant is located inside another business, the Angel Lodge. The bar was okay. I tried the Irish cream. It was my first time having this drink. It looked good. It tasted good. The service was fast and friendly. The restaurant looked nice. I had the Tator Tots Nachos tasted good. They had bacon something a little spicy and a cheese sauce. I enjoyed them. The Fish and Chips were okay. The fries soggie and not seasoned at all. The fish had a good crunch. The beer batter was good. I could taste the beer. That was interesting, good. The house Tatar sauce was good. The waitress was very friendly and nice. The price was fair. The portions large. The food hit the spot after the long hike.

This used to be the Fred Harvey Burger & Tavern but looks like the name was recently changed to Fred Harvey Tavern. The ambience is definitely more of a tavern or bar feel so I can see the reason for the name change. It's more of a bar with some food instead of a restaurant with a bar menu. The wait staff are friendly and the bartender we had was a lot of fun. He even made one of his off-menu drinks which was delicious. The drinks are far better than the food. The food was typical American bar food. Nothing unique or special about it. We each had the double bacon cheeseburger and chips and queso as an appetizer. The fries were fairly good. We originally wanted to try the American Steakhouse but had to have reservations in advance. There's limited dining options at the Grand Canyon park so we might eat here again if we come back one day but we will also try to make reservations for some of the restaurants as well!

This place isn't even trying. Ordered a BLT. Turkey looked like they took it out of package of prepacked deli meat. Bacon was limp. Served on ciabatta...which is just odd. Fries were decent but we got the bottom of the basket and all the fries were small/pieces. My friend ordered the burger. Can't go wrong ordering a burger at a place called Fred Harvey Burger right? Wrong. Burgers are ONLY cooked medium well. There is no other option. Burgers came out overdone...charcoal like...and the bun was stale / hard / inedible in parts. Side salad was good. Waiter was nice. Menu now has 4 entree items. He said up until yesterday there was only 1 choice (burger). Overall food was subpar and overpriced. We waited 45 minutes for a table. Buy a prepackaged sandwich at the gift shop instead and save yourself time and money!

Teriyaki tofu bowl Chicken Cesar wrap Turkey sandwich Side salads
    Annie A.

We were seated at the cocktail bar after about a 40 minute wait on a Thursday at 4. The bartender/server was really great. Our sandwiches came with side salads that came out within a minute of being ordered and everything else shortly behind which was appreciated since we were starving. The teriyaki tofu bowl was my favorite- it came with veggies and quinoa. The dressing was really good and salty- tasted so good after a long day of hiking. The chicken Cesar wrap and turkey sandwich were good but not great- a little bland. I wished the wrap had more Cesar dressing on it. I think the best bet is to take a shuttle from the visitor center because parking is limited, especially during lunch or dinner times.

The menu is focused, food decent, especially the fries. Service was spotty because they were "short staffed." It's a great place for a stop and go, not relaxation and enjoyment. If you just want a meal, do it. If you want to experience of being in the canyon, not so much!

Food choices at the Grand Canyon are limited. Most, if not all restaurants are run by the same corporation, which was originally started by Fred Harvey. Google his name for an interesting story. This restaurant serves a good selection of food, which is adequately prepared, but not memorable. The prices are reasonable, and the service is the bright spot of this restaurant.

Bad service, server, my personal information. Lawsuit material?

All items were amazing... when we got them. Consistently ignored. Consistently talked over. Twann was a joke. Engaging in highly ILLEGAL practices of posting my card information ONLINE. Card has now been cancelled. However, I have a niece who works in the park. And guess what she sent me (see photo) If you want sh!tt¥ service with bad attitudes look no further.

You are a captive audience when it comes to food options at the Grand Canyon. This place had good beer and lunch options.

It's pretty pricey, likely due to being in a tourist heavy area. It's connected to a dining hall and a lodge, which makes it a convenient stop if you're staying or exploring nearby. You walk in and order at the counter, and they bring the food out to you. We ordered the GCT Nachos ($19.49), along with a Prickly Pear Draftarita ($12) and a Yavapai Blonde ($8.99). The prickly pear drink was okay, but it was a bit too sweet for my liking. The nachos were good, and the portion size definitely made them worth sharing. Overall it's a neat little casual bar.

Younplace an order via an app or order at the bar. Only plus is there's a nice fire pit and drinks were decent. Very expensive for what you get. Basically an upscale fast food place and food just a tiny step above. Also weird upon delivery of food we got one fork, no napkins, no condiments. Set your expectations. $80 for a burger, tacos from the appetizer menu, 1 can of beer (no glass offered) and a glass of "large sized wine - which was a typical pour). Just know this isn't a fine dining it's a place when you're hungry after a big hike and anything will suffice. Next time I'd just go to the market, buy some beer a bottle of wine and make a charcuterie board.

It was not my idea to come here my sweet niece was the one who wanted steak and well who am I to tell her no?! We walked into the steakhouse side only to stand there another couple walked in and we were all quickly ushered out by a host, to go sit in the bar area... the host then tried to seat the couple who came in after first which wouldn't have been a huge deal if I didn't have a kid who was starving. Thankfully the other party told him we had been waiting. We were sat at a high top in the bar, and waited.. the bar tender came around and let us know she'd be our waitress, the main waitress was very busy. There was also a man who worked there that kept walking by looking at us. Not sure if we weren't fancy enough or he thought we were going to eat and run or what.. to be fair we were in jeans and a sweatshirt and had just come from the canyon.. I will say the reason we stayed (besides being hungry) was our waitress. She made us feel welcome, and despite being busy checked in regularly. I asked about the filet she said it was truly really good... and my niece got the steak tips. We both enjoyed the dinner... the filet was tender, cooked to a perfect medium... could have used a little more seasoning but still good. The baked potatoes had everything to stuff it with on the side... and the asparagus was delicious and cooked perfectly. Do I think it was 56 good mehhhh but it was still tasty. I had to taste the steak bites and that was delicious too! Fries however were over cooked. Like I said, the bar tender/ waitress came back and checked on us several times - she was great which is why this is a 4 star review not a 3 star. Her kindness is why I am overlooking the other issues we had.

The restaurant has lots of seating and feels very laid-back and great for the end of a long day on the lake. I had one of the craft beers, Camp fire kolsch, which was delicious. For food I got the Hot Honey chicken sandwich, grilled- which was fantastic. We ordered a side of fries as the burgers do not come with fries. As for service, our server was very to-the-point, not quite friendly but not rude. It was okay for me because I was ready to be done for the day, but most of our party didn't feel welcomed by our server's attitude and we're all generally easy going. We paid our bill with cash, when our server came back with the receipt he dropped it with us and left with the change. I try to make a point of tipping generously, at least 20% but I'm not really okay with someone helping themselves to a 40% tip. He came back after a few minutes of us sitting there (wondering if he forget or really took off with our change) and gave us our change- we still left 20% for him because maybe it was just a forgetful moment... All in all, good food and drink, service could use some polishing.
