What an awesome experience! Looking for things to do while we were in New Orleans, my husband came across this rum tasting. We both love rum, so this was a no brainer for us. Andrew, the co-owner and head distiller, was our host for our tasting. The tasting is intimate and private, so worries about social distancing or being over crowded. We had the opportunity to try 5 different rums; 2 white, 2 dark, and 1 liquor. With every taste Andrew graciously gave us a full background on the particular rum at the time. He continued to answer any and all questions that we had on the process of aging the rum and how each one was different. Please note that you will see the address on S. Broad Street, however, the building is behind the one on the street. You can get to their parking lot once you turn right on Washington and then make an immediate right. After the tasting, you are able to purchase any product that they have. With the tasting, you will receive a $5 discount on the bottle of rum. Please note, they can't ship to your home address, however, they can ship to a retail partner and pick it up there. We loved the experience and would surely return.

Just the most disappointing info on Yelp! They weren't open after we made the trip all the way down from the French Quarters! Google said they are open today. Yelp said they are open today. So did the New Orleans page! And you can't see the board from any side of the two streets that intersect, you'd think you're on a corner that goes no where. But it's hidden in an alley. Because it said 3pm, we stood there for all of 4 mins waiting for it to open. When it didn't, I called to ask and that's when disappointment struck! I told the gentleman that I was here all the way from NYC, I asked if they could do me a favor but sadly, they're closed for the week. This makes me think about their business practices: visibility - they should probably let Yelp know, they should probably let NewOrleans know, and they should probably let Google now! So we hailed a cab and we went back.

Great cozy distillery with a variety of white and dark rum to sample. Andrew is quite knowledgeable and explained the process of distilling rum to my husband and I. We tried some premium single-barrel rum. All of the rum is quite smooth. Although there's not a fancy showroom, it's a fun pitstop to taste some rum and learn for a few things. Definitely worth checking out! When you get there, check-in and you'll get a freebie sticker.

I was lucky enough to go on a private tour on a Saturday afternoon with a few friends. Co-owner Andrew was our guide and he did a fantastic job telling us all about the rum making process and explained everything in an easy-to-understand manner. Roulaison is a small and new rum distilling company and, I'll be honest, I know nothing about liquor production. Everything here is handcrafted and it's all local. All of this was pretty new to me, but I found the tour very interesting and Andrew was extremely nice and was happy to answer questions. After the tour came the tasting and I'm not a liquor drinker, so this got real interesting. I can usually handle liquor if it's mixed with something, so I was thankful for the teeniest little thimble full of samples that we had to try. Some of the rum burned, but that's probably because I "can't hang". By the third taste I had to reach for water- I'm such a lightweight. I did, however, really enjoy the rum liqueur that was offered, mainly because it had some sweetness to it. You can actually have them mix you up a cocktail, if that's your thing. I highly recommend the tour, especially if you like learning about new things and how things are made.

I really liked this place, its not big but the people are friendly. We stumbled upon this place after we left a brewery. We did the tasting and ended up buying a bottle. The rum is good and they offer several variations of it. I would recommend as a stop when you are out and about.

So excited to pick up the August box Sins of the Panhandle!!

I've been a customer of Roulaison since they opened. I super support local businesses as much and as often as possible, especially when they're providing something extraordinary. Roulaison definitely fits the bill! Local in all possible ways from materials to production to operations they get everything from and do everything right here in Southern Louisiana. Their products are high quality, and of course, delicious. Brings rum to a new level! I'm currently in love with their monthly Juice Box. Each month they offer an opportunity to purchase a box that includes a bottle of their rum along with recipes and ingredients from other local businesses to make delicious cocktails. Love, love, love this! I've made so many tasty, different cocktails and I highly recommend this box as a great deal for everything included. The boxes have to be picked up curbside, but there's a free parking lot as well as sometimes free street parking on Broad next to other great local businesses you should try. While they aren't doing tours due to pandemic restrictions, hopefully they'll be back to their usual tours and other events by next year.

For four dollars on Certain days you can do a tasting of three rums manufactured at this distillery. Itsreally awesome in a sense that you get a mini lecture about the alcohol concentration and how the Rum was prepared. I must say that these are some of the most smoothest rums i have ever tried. I enjoyed my lecture and yes theres parking. Thank you guys for a short but yet, meaningful introduction on the different Rums

I bought a Groupon for a distillery tour for 4. Andrew & Patrick were so helpful in scheduling the tour, and Andrew gave the most informative and interesting distillery tour I've ever experienced! This distillery approaches rum from a unique perspective of small-batch experimentation, and I can't wait to see what awesome and innovative products come out of this place in the future. The tour was followed by a rum tasting, and their spirits are really complex and delicious. This is a new staple for me to bring out-of-town guests to. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience! Don't forget: if you buy a Groupon or get in at an otherwise discounted rate, you should still tip for the actual cost of the tour ($10/person).

This tour was very insightful! The guide/co-owner was so nice and very informative. Also, THEY DO ALL THE WORK THEMSELVES! We loved the tour so much. We truly enjoyed ourselves and look forward to coming back!

This was mines and my boyfriend's first time at a distillery and it was amazing ! The owner was very informative and patient because we were late arriving to the tour due to heavy traffic . The home grown accent flavors are so New Orleans and the machines gave a great nostalgic feeling.

We meet up at the Voodoo Lounge, where there is a ticket office in the back room. We didn't live the bar--smelled a little bit like a sewer and the hurricanes were super sweet and kind of weak. But we did have but one get one, so wasn't that upset. The tour was great. We saw some interesting, haunted places and heard the history behind them. We didn't linger too long at any one place. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and funny, although he may have been a tad bit too heavy on the Catholic Church jokes. The tour ended at the LaLaurie house, and our guide shared a story about a little girl on who was recently on his tour who started crying and asked why there were dead people on the balcony. Spooky! I was so intrigued by what he said that I started looking up stories about Delphine LaLaurie and the haunting of the house. When I got home, I even started watching season 3 of American Horror Story, which has the character Delphine LaLaurie (accurate? No. Fun? Yes!). This was a fun way to spend the evening. There was an obnoxiously drunk guy on our tour, and our guide handled him well.

She came across like an overly dramatic theater kid who couldn't dial it back. Her mannerisms and constant theatrics were cringey, and while maybe one or two stories had potential, the delivery completely ruined them. She would randomly go off on personal tangents (where she lives, her parents, and other irrelevant details) that had absolutely nothing to do with ghosts or vampires and added nothing to the experience. The worst part was her points system, where she'd give out points if people followed instructions or answered questions. For example, when we stayed on the sidewalk instead of walking in the street, she'd shout "10 points!" and point at each person while repeating it. It wasn't quirky or fun, it was just annoying. I wouldn't recommend this tour based on her alone. After our awful experience we tried another company called Nola Ghost Riders and I'd highly recommend them. They are located at the Voodoo Lounge off Decatur St, while French Quarter Phantoms is at Voodoo Lounge off Rampart St.

Date of tour: December 21, 2024…read more After a wonderful food tour in Prague last year, we wanted to replicate the magic stateside while visiting New Orleans, a city with a rich food history and scene. As requested, I will keep the individual location names secret as to not spoil your potential food tour but also because the stops can change and I don't want to have you disappointed if you don't get the same places on your tour. Ty was a great guide, providing us with local history and culture as we ate our way down Magazine Street. The only complaint I have is that they didn't really interact with us during the food portions, standing or sitting off to the side, or running to the next location to make sure we were all set. To me, the guide should be not only the bridge between the locations and food with us, but also a bridge between the different groups on the tour. Ty told us before the tour started that the other folks joining us were from Michigan, but we found out from them later that they were actually from New York. Had these connections been made earlier, it would have enhanced the tour. On to the food, wonderful that it all was! Please note that I may make some errors in the actual names of the food, while I took pictures, I did not write down the names and there wasn't a post-tour recap to assist me! Stop #1: A local sandwich and a seafood side. Both quite good, especially since I don't like olives! Stop #2: An unusual meat that was shockingly good! Stop #3: Seafood options. I've had a different version of one of these items in Asheville, NC. This wasn't quite as good but still tasty. Stop #4: Southern favorites that were so good! I didn't think I would like these but I did. Stop #5: A peppermint fudge cupcake. Sadly, the weakest stop on the tour. Other that tried the gelato came away disappointed and my cupcake was neither overly fudgey or pepperminty. It looked pretty, though!

This is a small group experience, which is why I wanted to do this one. We met at the Tableau Restaurant and were offered the choice of an aperol spritz or a French 75. We chose the spritz. We were told some history and ghost lore before going up to the wine room for some more stories. Very cool. They showed us video of a ghostly incident that had occurred there before. Next we walked down the street where we were told about the haunting at Muriel's Restaurant, where they also set a ghost table. Our last stop was at a psychic shop where we did a tarot card reading and we're given a Pan Am cocktail. I highly recommend this tour. The best thing about the Creole Queen is the narrator. After the battlefield, the second half of the tour focuses on Hurricane Katrina. He wants that it can be disturbing and announced that if you didn't want to hear it, you can go to the dining room, as it isn't broadcasted in there. He is very candid, and I learned so much about the terrible way Hurricane Katrina was handled, as well as just how terrible the hurricane was. It was very, very sad. I highly recommend this tour.
