I'm going to stick to my 5 star rating for Lula because it's honestly one of my favorite Brunch spots. It is loud but most restaurants are. I always make a reservation so we never have any issues getting a table. Yesterday we arrived early so we sat at the bar waiting for our friends. I ordered the specialty frozen drink which was the Painkiller and it was delicious and had a kick! I'd definitely go back for that. My go to appetizers are the Lump Crab & Avocado Dip and the Brussel Sprouts. I am not a fan of Brussels sprouts but these are flash fried and seasoned perfectly. The wonton chips that come with the dip are the best I've ever had. This was my first time trying the Chicken and Biscuits and it did not disappoint although I couldn't eat much of it after the appetizers and my many vodka and cranberry juice care if the Bottomless bar. I was told they leave a carafe in the table now; however it's only if there are 8 people at the table??? Well I will still say it's a big waste of glasses to not leave a small carafe (one like wine comes in) for everyone who orders the Bottomless. This was my second time at Lula's Distillery, and I'm so glad we came back! We had Quinton as our waiter, and he was awesome. His customer service was excellent, and he gave us so much insight into the menu, which made the experience even better. He recommended the Frozen Painkiller Piña Colada, and it was soooo good--definitely a must-try! We also got the burger, which was packed with great flavor, and of course, we had to order the peach pie again. It was just as delicious as I remembered! Overall, another great experience. This is one cool distillery! It has both great spirits and amazing food. We stopped in our last afternoon in New Orleans and enjoyed everything we tried. The space is large and open and the distillery is in the back. Our waiter Carlos took excellent care of us and gave us good recommendations along the way. I've never had an old fashioned in a bottle but theirs was excellent as well as the Evans Cucumber Collin's the wife had. We had the Boudin wontons, Grace's tomato stack and the shrimp brochette and all were delicious. We missed out on the distillery tour as those end at 5 when we arrived so will need to do that on another trip. Please check out this gem the next time you are on NOLA. An unexpected find in the lower garden district after our planned outing to a bar was closed. We had stumbled upon this distillery that has been open since 2016 and survived Covid, so you know it must be worth a stop in! Unfortunately our plan was to just stop in for drinks but the dinner menu looked so good with a speciality menu with quail and a dip with avocado and local fish! As we were just stopping in for drinks, we just had an appetizer: at first we were unsure about the composition of the appetizer: avocado, crab and mango....but one we received it, we were impressed. The dip was solid! As for drinks: the distillery offerings were solid! I'm a fan of bees knee and that made me an epic one. And for those who want to get their pour on for a mere 20 dollars you can do unlimited drinks from a select list that looked solid! The service was solid too! I think the excellent service that we received from Sam and perhaps the Manager ( sorry didn't catch his name) kept us there longer enjoying our time! Sam has been there for four year and very passionate about the business: I love seeing an employee at establishment that is fully engage! The ambiance is nice too: vast indoor space! Very clean! With an open area to the kettles! Plus a nice patio for nice days! Plus they have a big party area too if you are looking for an event space. Grabbed a lunch here with a small group and the place was pretty empty. Our waitress was attentive and the food came out pretty quickly. My drink (Bee's Knees) was delicious and very light. Lula was recommended by some friends when she went to school in the area, so we had high expectations. Out of all the recommendations this location did not live up to the hype. The drinks, some pre mixed with their own branded spirit, were sub par. Either way too sweet or the balance profile was off based on whomever did the mixing. My mixed old fashioned took me back to the younger days when my focus was to just get something to start a buzz and skimp on the experience. It was Mardi Gras so there were probably plenty of people who appreciated the lower price point at $11. As to the food we had the queso and the egg rolls. Egg rolls were good with the fig jam. The queso was watery and not a true queso with some thickness to dip. The hanger/flank steak also was cooked well to order and was pleasantly surprised. The fries were a little soggy and not as crispy as I would like them. Steak w a little dip into the fig jam made it that much better. We don't plan on going back but if you're looking for something quick, good wait staff that were attentive, and keeping your drinking low -then maybe it will work for you. read more

It was very pretty inside - there was nice lighting, the tables were far enough apart to not hear anyone else's conversations despite how packed it was, and it was very clean to say there was table coming in and out. +1 star for the service ! Our server was not the best, but he tried his best for a large party and I do appreciate his efforts. Also, the chef/manager handled any complaints we had -1 star because the food I ordered (lamb chops with green beans, onion rings, & roasted potatoes) was flavorless! I assume the flavor was supposed to come from the chimichurri sauce that I did NOT like. My man ordered the cheese burger and I did not too much enjoy that AT ALL! He complained about it also being dry and flavorless so he added salt *there was a lump crab and avocado dip and it was pretty good, BUT there was actually no visible lump crab meat ! Apparently they blend it altogether -1 star for the drinks ! I'm not sure who prefers Lula vodka, but it's not good ! Came here for a group dinner. Shout out to my Yelp friend for finding this place same day, and booking a resy. The place was not full which I was glad about, a few tables but not much, so we got pretty quick and easy service. I can't speak to how the parking is, as we Uber'd here. The place is really cute. Large barn style with wooden rafters. Very spacious. Great for large groups or family reunion. I could even see this as a nice event space for an anniversary or a work event. The distillary is right in the back and open to the public behind glass. I wonder if they have classes or events for there different spirits. If they don't it would be a good idea, I bet it would be a great success. They had a $35 dinner special meal, and the whole table decided to order from that. Service- Viana (sp) was our server. And while we were a group, service was good. She checked on us enough. Drink- was a part of the dinner special, which I haven't seen before, that's kind of cool. I got the Bee's Knees. While I assume it may have been batched drink, but it was nice and tart for me. Food- I got the Cesar salad for my starter, which was larger than I expected. I thought it would be more of a side salad, I was happy to see a large portion. For my main I had the blackened fish with dirty rice and veggies. That was really tasty. We got dessert as it was a birthday celebration for 2 of the guests in the group. I had a bite of the bread pudding. It wasn't my style of bread prodding, a little too soft texture of bread, but I'm sure some will enjoy. This was totally false advertising. This ad and the one that they give you the carafe for the bottomless vodka were plain lies. My friends who don't care for Lula's very much agreed to go there because of these two ads. We get there and are told this is only for dinner not brunch/lunch. No where does it say that. It just says Father'sDay. The carafe apparently is only if there were 8 people at the table. That ad doesn't say that. Instead you wait and wait and wait for a drop of vodka. We won't be back which is a shame because the food is good without the lies and there is no need for just a dab of vodka--you make it. Shame on you. read more

Oh my gosh what a fantastic restaurant. Prices were so good compared to the amount of food served per plate. We started with the Fried Mirliton Pickles and the Boudin Eggrolls. Both were crispy and delicious. For entrees, we got Blackened Market Fish which was redfish. It was flaky and cooked to perfection. The Chicken and Sausage Gumbo was quite tasty as well. We ordered the fried pickles to start and they were Amazing and the homemade ranch is on point!! That is some good ranch!! The Boudin egg rolls were a hit. The sauce is so tasty! The hubby ordered the shrimp boil- the flavor is on point, it's not your traditional boil because it doesn't have the traditional boil seasoning, but it's good. My son ordered the fried chicken sandwich- it's on a Texas toast and he lives that! He said the flavor is amazing and the chicken is soft (not chewy) and breading is crispy! The sauce is good. A must go in New Orleans! First, find out timing, but when we went they had a $20 all you can drink house distilled vodka bar. Worth the trip. The whisky were good. At $35 a bottle, punching well above their weight. Their bourbon and rye could be set in a case as a really good standard for those drinks. The food was awsome! I over indulged, I happily admit. This place is just a solid experience every time I go in. I have gone in with bigger groups, for Mardi Gras parade events, and for smaller meals. Every time I go is just another great day out with friends and family! The service does really well. I love the endless vodka bar with brunch (they bring you the shot over ice and you go to the bar to decide if you want tonic, orange juice, lemonade, cranberry juice, bloody, or whatever), and they bring you a plate of garnishes that can go with whatever you choose. The food is delicious; it's a mix of modern local fare as well as some standbys that you would expect at a place open for brunch through dinner. It's great for guests of all ages, and there's outdoor seating as well (pup friendly). For their Mardi Gras events, there's a buffet and stands set up over where the outdoor seating is. That was okay. Food was good but I wasn't a big fan of the stands. But, if that's the worst they've got, they're still really great! read more

We were a large group who ordered apps, drinks, and appetizers. The servers handled it all well. Some in the party complained about slow service but this happens with a group of 30. I was amazed at how well our server kept it all going. I ordered the lamb chops and they were good. I've had better but these were yummy. The green beans were spot on and I ate them all. The onion rings were a little plain and the potatoes were just okay. The lamb chops and green beans filled me up so I left quite content. Would I go back? My two girlfriends and I make it a point to dine out about every 4-6 weeks. We try to find a new experience each time. On Friday, we chose Lula's. Parking was very easy. They have a huge parking lot on the side street. We had a 4pm reservation which also happened to be happy hour. Loved the Frozen Pomegranate Lemonade. The service was excellent! Our server was Erin. She was engaging, courteous, knowledgeable and efficient. Such a beautiful spirit. We later found out that she performs as Disney's Princess Tiana. So fitting! We ordered the crawfish queso as an appetizer. It arrived quickly. The queso was delicious. The wonton chips were light and tasty. Only thing the chips were served cold. We thought warming the chips would have added to the experience. For our main entrees two of us ordered the blackberry glazed ribs. It was served with a creole slaw and grilled corn on the cob. We were given a full rack of ribs!! The corn was excellent. For me the slaw was okay because my mother makes the best slaw ever, so I am biased. My other girlfriend ordered the lamb chops. The dish was served with 5 chops, roasted potatoes, onion rings, grilled veggies (green beans). Chimichurri was included. She found the chops to be fair. Under seasoned. To be fair: we compare everyone's lamb chops against another food vendor in the city. They set the bar very high for lamb chops. Overall: the portions were huge. The price points were fair. The restaurant was clean and the service was excellent. We enjoyed our experience. I would have rated it 4.5 stars but I didn't seem to have that option. read more

If you're looking for something different with excellent drinks and food to boot, check out this distillery with a restaurant on St. Charles Avenue along the streetcar line. Plenty of Louisiana fare and other options to satisfy most everyone in your group. I went with a work group and we shared all of the appetizers and there wasn't a one that wasn't fantastic. My personal favorite were Marge's Tomato Stack and the Fried Mirliton Pickles. For my entree, I ordered the pork osso bucco which should feed me another time or two. The dining room is pretty cool with views of their stills where they distill their own vodka, rum, gin, rye, and bourbon. The servers and bartenders are really awesome too! Bottomless Vodka again Bottomless vodka!! I was sold from that alone. 20buck$! Service awesome they are great for large parties. We loved this place!! The food was delicious and the food came out pretty quickly. We got the crawfish queso to start and it was very well seasoned. We loved that it came with wonton chips as it added a nice little crunch. I got the Point Reyes Blue salad with grilled shrimp. This is probably one of the best salad I have ever had! If you love blue cheese, this is a must have!! The shrimp were so tasty and delicious. The FedEx driver making a delivery even stopped to ask what I was having. My cousin had his rehearsal dinner here last month. I saw online that they had private rooms so I told my family about it and they reached out to the restaurant. Depending on the number of people you have there are 2 different rooms you can choose from. We had 30 people and were in the Large Barrel Room. They give you the option to have white tablecloths on the table if you want (which is a nice touch because some restaurants do not include tablecloths and will make you pay extra for them). When booking it tells you that guests are able to decorate, play their music on the speakers, as well as, have a projector to do slideshow presentations if they would like. These are great things to have available when looking for a rehearsal dinner at the restaurant. They offer buffet or seated dinners (you are able to customize your meal from the menu) for private events. We had the buffet dinner with 2 starters (catfish and boudin eggrolls), 1 salad (Caesar salad), 2 entrees (Pastalaya and Grilled Chicken), 2 sides (Olive Oil Smashed Potatoes and Charred Vegetables), and 1 dessert (Southern Bread Pudding). Soda, tea, water, and coffee are included in the package. When choosing the items it says the starters can be added on to the buffet table but they don't say that excludes the catfish until you call to speak with someone. The catfish had to be passed around by one of the waiters, while the eggrolls were able to be on the buffet line. Also, while drinks are included I think it would be easier for them to have dispensers on the side with the lemonade and tea so that people could get it themselves instead of everyone having to ask the 2 guys to fix the drinks. The waiters were helpful though and were able to help us connect the phone to their speaker so we could listen to the playlist we created for the event. The best items on the menu were the fish, Caesar salad, mashed potatoes, and charred veggies. The boudin egg rolls and chicken were ok, but I was not a fan of the pastalaya as it did not have much flavor. While I don't have a picture of the bread pudding, it was over cooked and on the dryer side. Food probably gets a 3.5/5 from me. Overall experience for a rehearsal dinner spot that allows you to decorate, have your own music, and slideshows (if you want) I'd give a 4/5. read more

I had the blackened redfish with veggies and dirty rice. Everything was delicious especially the dirty rice. My husband had the blackberry glazed ribs, with mashed potatoes and roasted corn. Celebrated my 20th 21st birthday here today . Brunch was wonderful. Our server Briani was great, very attentive! We started with the lump crab and avocado dip. It was delicious but the "lump" crabmeat was definitely nowhere to be found. That was a little disappointing because I love crab. Despite not tasting any crab I would still order the dip on future visits because it was really good. In my party of 6, 5 of us got the crawfish omelets and we all enjoyed. The breakfast potatoes were good and the grits were really good because most restaurant grits leave a lot to be desired but these were creamy cheesy and needed no additional salt, butter or anything else. My friend had the crawfish mac and cheese and she let me taste it. The mac alone is worthy of a visit! So cheesy and flavorful! They gifted me with dessert for my birthday and I opted for the bread pudding. It was really good traditional with fruit additions (thanks) and topped with a delicious sauce with pecans! We all did the bottomless vodka bar. They bring a glass of vodka to you and you fill with your choice of pomegranate lemonade, blood mary mix, soda, tonic water, grapefruit juice, cranberry juice or orange juice (or any mixture of the above). I visited this distillery roughly 20 minutes before they closed, just to grab a quick drink. Once I sat down at the bar and looked at the menu, I couldn't help but to order the crawfish queso. I mean...why not? It first came out slightly warm, so I sent it back for them to warm it up more. Regardless of the temp, it was surprisingly delicious. I ate every last bit! When it comes to the drinks, I'm usually a stout girl when choosing a beer, but they didn't have any stout options. The beer the bartender recommended was really good, so I didn't mind. I've been to Lula sooo many times...how have I never reviewed?! For years, Lula has been a consistently great place for American-Louisiana style dishes and I've always appreciated it an LGD staple. The variety of dishes allows for anyone to have a meal they'd enjoy. What I really love about Lula is that the quality of food has always been there across the years. Its real, fresh ingredients are always prepared and well-seasoned with very nice portions. And, their happy hour is great! Can't beat a $6 cocktail with freshly-distilled liquor! Anytime someone visits the city and wants a more chill dining experience away from the FQ or CBD, I always suggest Lula and they enjoy it.
