This is the best yoga studio that I've ever been to, hands down. The instructors are amazing, and the classes accommodate anyone from beginners to high-level yogis. It has a very friendly and "small community" atmosphere, which is great. I never feel like just another person going to a yoga class. Something else I've noticed is that the students in the class are generally very polite and respectful towards one another, which I haven't always found to be the case at other studios. And, it's super clean, which I also haven't always found to be the case at other studios. To top it off, they do a great job of promoting the "green" theme. My only critique is that I wish they had morning classes on Mon, Weds, and Fri. It would be nice to have three more days available during the week, since my schedule sometimes makes it difficult to get in on Tues and Thurs mornings. The Green Yogi is amazing to its core. That core is owner Mary Strong, her energy and kindness show throughout the studio. It's an experience that one must feel for themselves, as Mary has instilled this positive yogi presence throughout The Green Yogi's instructors and staff. I most recently attended Kori Clausen's class this past Sunday at 11am. Kori is incredibly knowledgable and it shows through her challenging yet balanced vinyasa flow routine. This class was Green Yogi to the core in it's goal for an amazing student experience. I can't say enough good things about this studio, Mary Strong or her newfound instructor Kori Clausen. This was my 2nd time here and I can't get enough. It is hard to do and I get very sweaty but I don't regret coming. The staff are very friendly and the instructors are helpful with the exercises. Park at the structure on the corner of highland and pch. It's 2 hour metered parking and the meters take cards! Don't go in the afternoon unless you don't mind the traffic. Great yoga studio! The teachers are very caring and knowledgeable, and the sequences are rigorous and challenging. The studio itself is very charming and serene. I knocked off one star though because parking is a hassle (it's hard to find neighborhood parking so you usually have to do metered parking) and the classes can get very crowded, especially the weekend morning classes. read more

I cannot say enough good things about the Green Yogi. I only started my yoga practice this January in their annual yoga challenge and it was a great way for a novice to get into the swing of things! I was able to try out a bunch of different teachers and find the ones that worked with me the best. I highly recommend Tamal, Jamie, and Christine. They are all unique in their ways and offer ways to challenge you and your practice every meeting. Also, there is never any pressure (from any instructor at this studio) to be the best or to do things that just isn't right for you. Aside from the great instructors, The Green Yogi space is amazing! It is tranquil, relaxing and a perfect get away to practice. You walk in the side gate and first enter an outside patio-like place with couches and candles. Then you enter the 'registration room' (I named it this for lack of a better name). This is where you sign in using an ipad at the front desk. Check in is smooth, easy and quick as can be. There is always a staff member there to answer any questions for you as well. In the registration room, they have the mats for rental or purchase and some other goodies for sale like music, towels, jewelry, etc. This room is separated from the main yoga practice room by two french doors. I love this because there is no pressure to whisper in very low voices and also you are able to come into the studio and speak with the staff during hours that classes are scheduled. The Green Yogi is also priced REALLY well compared to all the other yoga studios around town. And the best part about their pricing is their packages DO NOT EXPIRE!! I absolutely hate that pilates and yoga studios make you finish a package in a certain amount of time. Things come up in our busy schedules and its nice to know that if you buy a package of 10 classes, you are able to use them over as much time as you need. Also, if you buy an unlimited pass (under $100), they can pause the pass for anything over 14 days. Meaning for example, you activate the pass on July 1 but realize that July 10-20 you are going to be out of town or super busy with meetings or kid's schedules, you are able to put the pass on hold and then it can resume 14 days or more, after you put it on pause. During the time its paused, you can purchase a day pass or a multiple day pass should you have time for a class here and there. Bottom line is the studio makes it so easy to practice! The environment, the teachers, the pricing, the scheduling, and the way the studio works with you on your schedule. I don't have enough good things to say about this studio and I highly recommend everyone give it a try! read more

The Green Yogi is a cool place with friendly service. They offer different types of yoga (I go to the power yoga classes mostly), and there are many different instructors. The studio itself is cute and simple--small outdoor waiting area where you take your shoes off, small lounge areas inside where you sign in, and one big room where the yoga actually takes place. The prices may be a bit on the high side, but that's probably because the studio is in Manhattan beach. They do have 20% off specials sometimes though. The thing I don't like about this studio is the parking. There is virtually NO chance at getting free parking here. You may be able to score a free spot if you go into the residential areas, but those areas are always packed with residents who don't have enough parking of their own. The parking on Highland is all metered, and will typically run about $2 per class to feed the meter. I factor that into the "per class cost" for practicing yoga here. Another thing is Highland is a small street (one lane per way), and it is sometimes a bit of a hassle to street park. There is also a structure a little farther away from the studio on the corner of Rosecrans and Highland (also metered). Aside from the parking though, I enjoy the studio. read more

We love to come to the studio and get a good work out plus we feel invigorated once we leave because of the spirituality and vibe that this place has. We are so happy that we have found this studio. I started coming here for their Yoga challenge back in January and haven't stopped. It has such a nice ambience and all the teachers are very skilled. The classes are consistently challenging but the teachers are all able to adapt each pose and sequence to meet the special needs of each individual. I love that they have several hour-long classes throughout the week for those days where I don't have as much time to devote to practice. Also, there is usually a good balance of men and women in the classes and all ages. They have a great intro special of 3 classes for $20 and school teachers get a discount on packages. Another thing I love is that although the classes are 'power yoga' style, I always feel comfortable adjusting my practice to whatever my body is telling me that day. Im 4 months pregnant so its important to me to know that the teachers are knowledgeable about which poses to avoid and I never feel awkward if I just feel like plopping down into child's or corpse pose in the middle of some intense flow series. You will not be disappointed. read more

The cutest boutique yoga studio around , plus it's a moderate price! I love that I can walk from my house to yoga every day. I recommend the relaxation yoga- it feels great and allows you to really take your time and connect with your body. My son and I were looking around Manhattan Beach for a good yoga studio and we tried several. When The Green Yogi opened and offered free classes we gave it a try and have been doing all our classes there since. The studio size is great, the class schedule works well for us, the teachers are consistently inspiring. Mary the owner always welcomes us with a smile. I love the whole feeling of the studio from the great fragrant candle to all the tea lights in the main studio. I look forward to every class. read more

I thought I'd give these guys a try while house-sitting in MB for a week, because I saw their $20 for 3 classes introductory offer. I've been VERY impressed with the adorable, serene studio space and the high quality instructors. Granted, I'm only 2 classes in and I've had Dan both times for the hour long Power Flow class (hence the reason for only 4 stars), but I got a terrific workout both times and look forward to trying Julie Radar's Hassa Flow class next. My favorite studio in the South Bay. I became interested in Vinyasa yoga in the Inland Empire while working out there for almost a year and was not sure I would find a studio I liked as much; the Green Yogi has surpassed my expectations in EVERY way. Honestly, this place is amazing. I started doing Yoga a few years ago, but it wasn't until I started coming here that I felt like I was progressing and truly learning. All of the classes give you the ability to learn as a beginner and then continue to be challenged as you become more experienced. Not a die hard yogi, yet enjoy a class once in awhile. Heard lots about GY so decided to give it a go. Super crowded and tiny room with bathroom inside yoga room, which was unusual because people were using it during class. The class I took seemed to be filled with regulars who take their power Vinyasa seriously. I found it to be a competitive environment. Room smells a bit musty and ceiling needs to be cleaned around vents. Hard to see instructor. Not for beginners. read more

I started with plans to just try one or two classes to supplement other workouts, but now I understand why they are so popular. By far the greatest yoga studio I have ever been too! It's hard to want to do yoga anywhere else after going to this studio. After every class I leave feeling like a got a great workout in, but I also leave feeling rejuvenated and relaxed. The teachers there are truly amazing and each bring something a little different to the table. I haven't gone to one class that I didn't like. My favorite class is the Saturday morning class with Heather. It's packed every class so it's a tight fit, but there's such great energy. Not only are the classes beyond, but the studio itself has the best atmosphere and vibes. It's close to the beach, and surrounded by tons of great restaurants you can stop at after class.
