I never could understand why people eat outside in downtown places where cars drive by them 5 feet away. The beers were OK, nothing really special but OK. They have a little bar outside so getting a refill was quick and easy. The don't serve any kind of hard spirits. My wife isn't a beer drinker so one of the bartenders at the inside bar mixed her up a drink with seltzer and something else(tea) which she found to be quite tasty, so i tipped her generously for having the ambition to please a customer. Where they fell down IMO was their pizza. It just wasn't very good. We had several versions of their Sicilian to choose from. The cheese was generous, but the crust was doughy and heavy, the sauce was flavorless, and the toppings were very stingy. A big piece of Sicilian pizza with 3 slices of pepperoni is not good. I checked out their menu and was stunned at the prices they are getting for those pizzas. WAY overpriced. Of course i didn't have to pay for them since it was a party, but knowing what their pizza is like i would never go back there and pay those prices. The wings were just OK, pretty mediocre. Parking is a joke. No where near enough spots for the size of the place. Overall it was just OK, i would not return. There are better places for the same or less money.

The decor was cute with lots of lights and several inflatable decorations like a Rudolph and a snowman. The cocktails were surprisingly pretty good! The Cornelius's Coquito was genuinely delicious and well balanced and while the Sugar Cookie Martini was on the sweet side, it was delightful. I also really enjoyed the refreshing Prancer's Peppermint Tea. The bartender who made our drinks was pretty nice and was very fast and efficient.

It's a decent spot if you just want to grab a quick drink from their massive list of draft beers, local ciders, or casual cocktails, and maybe snack on some fried mozzarella or a meatball hoagie while you hang out. The biggest drawback is that the service can be a bit of a gamble. There are times when it's noticeably slow and less than adequate, especially when it gets crowded on weekends. It's a fine place to grab a scenic drink if you're already in the Cultural District, but it's definitely more about the rooftop view than top-tier service or food.

There are also cocktails, wines, and a whiskey selection. Currently, there are 16 beer choices, one cider, and a hard seltzer option that can be made in five different flavors. There is also an NA beer choice along with a pop variety. 32oz and 64oz growlers can be filled to-go. There is no food in house, but a food truck schedules to be here on the weekends. Check their website for more information. Kids are welcome as long as they are supervised by a guardian. Parking is never too difficult to find because there is a lot next to the building as well as street parking. There is a handful of tables and bar seating throughout the brewery, and there are some outdoor tables by the food truck. I always enjoy the vibes at Cobblehaus. The music is at a comfortable volume and the place is always very clean. I will continue to hang out here!!

Abjuration is awesome! Honestly we are probably there at least once every few weeks. They generally do a new release or two each week so there is always something new to try. They announce each release on Facebook. They offer online ordering and then allow two weeks to pickup. They make the whole process easy. Oh and even better you can order single cans so if you are unsure if you will like something or just want some variety you are set. The staff here is phenomenal. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. They are knowledgeable and happy to help you find a beer you will truly enjoy. I have witnessed them go above and beyond to make sure a customer was happy with her experience. They recognize the regulars and always offer a greeting. It is one of the things that makes this place special. They have a beer garden set up now with picnic tables and a fire pit. It's nice because it offers up extra space. I have heard people ask what Abjuration is known for. It seems to be for their "weird" beers. Honestly they have some of the widest variety of beers anywhere around and yes that includes some weird ones. They are the brewery responsible for getting us hooked on sours. They make sours with herbs that drink more like a cocktail. They have sours made with ice cream or candy (or multiple candies in one) or straight fruited sours. They truly run the gamut. They always have some basic easy drinkers on like a lager, a brown, a Kolsch, etc. I have heard their IPAs are good (though I'm not an IPA drinker). They don't do stouts often but have put out some good ones. They also have done a few different rice wines that are unique and delicious. Abjuration just keep doing what you are doing and killing it. We have been there since Day 1 and will continue to show up.

He had the IPA & said it was good; I had the Alley Bat and we both loved it (we hardly ever like each other's beer). We split the lager just to try it and agreed it was a solid option. They've partnered with Off The Rails Barbeque and it's a great pairing. I call San Antonio home, so I'm a big fan of brisket. Theirs was very tasty, even without sauce, which is the hallmark of good brisket. The amount of meat for the price was a little skimpy, but I know everyone's balancing increased costs so I won't fault them for that. My husband had the nachos and we both agreed they'd have been better with real cheese rather than the Rico's they had. I got the brisket sandwich, only because they were already out of sliced brisket for the night. The sauce we both liked was the medium Kansas City, but I also liked the medium Carolina Gold and he liked the hot sauce (which is VERY hot). They were also already out of the mac & cheese, which was disappointing, but we assume that's because it was good. I had the collard greens because they're some of my favorites, and these did NOT disappoint. There's a good amount of space that's outside under cover (helpful, because it was raining when we got there), but even more space if you don't need cover. We'll definitely be back for summer and fall nights!
