A food truck was just getting set up as we arrived around 3PM, too early to catch the live band that night. If you love all things music, this place is your jam. They spin records while you sip and you can even bring in your own records. This was during the afternoon on an easy going Saturday, so that might be different later in the day. Great brewery. Parking is readily available and I have been surprised at how easy it has been to find parking here even if other things are going on in the area. Beer is of high quality and they often change their beer list. That actually is quite different from many breweries who tend to stick with the same beers for extended periods of time. Location, Location, Location! This is one of my favorites in regards to that. Plus, the bartenders are some of the best of any of the breweries in the entire Pittsburgh area. I Iove this place so much and the day we visited they had a sushi truck outside and even though we didn't eat it I appreciated it being there in case we wanted to. The inside of this place is my jam and their flight is the best hands down, I mean look at it! The music they were playing was top notch and the atmosphere is general was so chill. Pittsburgh and surrounding areas are home to some of the best breweries in the country. Inner Groove is no exception. They put out some pretty bad ass pours. They have a pretty decent selection on tap and my current favorite is a brown ale called Celebrity Hot Tub. It's a great mix of nut, chocolate and even caramel. All tops in my book when it comes to a proper craft beer. I like the modern yet laid back feel of the decor and layout. Staff is always awesome. read more

The prices are very reasonable & I love the fact that you can bring in outside food. My favorite part about this brewery (other than the beer) are the bartenders. Each of the three times I've been there the bartenders are extremely friendly, very knowledgeable about the beers, and had great recommendations (Blurry Face will make you just that!). I stopped by here 2 Saturdays ago with my wife for some afternoon drinks. I had actually found out about Inner Groove Brewing from the paper and was excited to see another addition to Railroad Street. The inside of this place feels comforting with lots of earthy colors from the cement floor to the wooden walls and tables. They also have a ton of string lights hanging throughout and a nice selection of board games to play. It's actually quite a bit larger inside than it looks from the outside with an L shaped bar, both high top and low top seating with seating for maybe 60 - 80 and room for more. As I often do whenever I visit a new brewery, I decided to go with a fight here. At Inner Groove Brewing you have the choice of a Half Turntable (4 - 5 oz beers for $12) or Full Turntable (8 - 5 oz beers for $23) and I chose the half turntable. It came out on a record looking "tray" which was fun and played to their name. For my beers on this day I decided on the Celebrity Hot Tub (Brown Ale), Million Suns (American Pale Ale - Single Hop Citra), Mutha Fuzz (Peach IPA) and Blurry Face (Imperial Porter). The first beer that I tried was the Hot tub which had a nice and smooth start with the caramel flavor starting early and persisting through the finish. Up second was the Million Sons which started off with just a hint of the hops before going into it full throttle. The hops in this one were nice and felt slightly juicy without it being overpowering. Third was the Mutha Fuzz and you get the peach flavor right from the start to the finish which surprisingly covers up a bit of the hop flavor. Last but not least was the Blurry Face which started with the favor from those dark malts before a little bit of smokiness comes in at the finish. Out of the bunch I think that the blurry face was my favorite with the million suns being my second favorite. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. My wife and I both enjoyed the atmosphere and the beers were good too. read more

We stopped by here on a Saturday afternoon for a couple rounds on a whim and were happy with the choice. We liked the setup. There's a lot of space and it had modern decor with a vintage record vibe. The beer was more than decent and they offer different sizes in flights. My favorites were the Mutha Fuzz, Hologram, and Serious Moonlight but I'm sure the drafts rotate. They have a good selection of IPAs, but there's a lot of other offerings for other tastes as well. Some more options for food might have been nice, but they were still a newer place when I stopped in so I'm sure they were still finding their footing. The bartender did tell me they have food trucks there regularly, but other than that it was just chips and small bagged snacks when I was there. There wasn't too much of a crowd or a lot going on during our visit, but it looks like they have events, live music, tastings, and trivia. I don't get out to Verona often, but hearing that the long-awaited Inner Groove was opening its doors on Saturday just had me driving out to meet them. By the time I got there at 4 pm, it was brimming with activity - the place was packed. The day was absolutely gorgeous, so I am super happy that it seemed to have been a quite successful day. Space - it's off the main Verona drag, across the way from the Verona police station. Walk through the black painted front entrance and you'll find the inside is minimalist with modern wood paneling with the Inner Groove logo sprawled across the right side wall. To your left, you have bar space, to the right you have a beer line if you want to grab and head towards the back, with a plentitude of high top tables. I wish I would have fought my way to the back towards the back patio, but it was truly packed. Sips - I love that all the beers were references to song lyrics. They have an inclusive variety of styles, but I ended up settling for the 'My Verona' Golden Ale. Refreshing. Be sure to come check out any of the other 7 styles as follows: Real Good Time - N.E. IPA Engines On - N.E. I wasn't checking for non-alcoholics, shame on me, but when a person behind me asked for ice and was met with a 'we don't have ice', it tells me they don't serve fountain soft drinks. Just a heads up. Snacks - The location is a BYOF (bring your own food) and for the grand opening had a Food truck parked outside. I was there Saturday so the truck was called 'BullDawg's', an ensemble for Hotdogs, Hamburgers, and Cheesesteaks. Next time I must arrive hungrily. Service - I was lucky to sneak into the corner of the bar and skip most of the line. Service was super quick and super nice. Try to bring your card instead of Cash, they are more equipped to handle that. By the time I got there, you could tell it had been in full swings for hours but the team was trooping along. I went to Inner Groove Brewing on a Wednesday and was pleasantly surprised that there were quite a few people there. The bartenders were attentive and the games kept us busy while we enjoyed a couple beers. My dad isn't a huge beer fan and they have peach wine there for him to enjoy. I would absolutely go back but next time I'd bring my dog and sit out on the back patio. There are about 5 tables with umbrellas! After being stuck inside for a month we decided to try the online ordering with curbside pick-up being offered at Inner Groove as we'd never been there before, were desperate for good beer, and felt that the pick-up process being offered would work for us. Also I was curious to try the porter on their menu. We basically ordered a variety of their beers that came in cans and proceeded to split one each night for the next week (some are large - 32 oz). Now I'm planning my next trip because WE NEED MORE!!! The "Razzle Rock" sour was so good...fruity and sour but not overly so and definitely my favorite sour ever. "Layin' Low" was the reason we decided to try Inner Groove and it did not disappoint. I'm just sad that we only purchased one can and will certainly be getting more as soon as I can. What a wonderful spot for an afternoon beer! I came here with my dad and infant son after a hike. They have a wide selection of beers and local wine and soda, and are happy to give you samples (of the beer of course). Bartenders were so friendly and very accommodating. Beer was excellent. Great little brewery! They're still working out the kinks, but they're doing a good job. I visited on a Wednesday- they have team trivia on those nights, which makes it a popular time to visit. The line at the bar could get a little long, but the bartenders managed it well. The My Verona was good, but don't sleep on their special brews. They don't serve food here- they rely on food trucks outside (not much room for a kitchen, I guess). Noise can be an issue, but some acoustic tiles on the walls have improved things. I hope they get some ceiling fans installed soon- it would make the seating area much more comfortable. All in all, great place and I will be back. read more

Visited on opening day. It was very crowded, but they had plenty of seating to accommodate. Comfortable seating at the tables, which were upcycled church pews. Also, they were pretty quick and attentive to people waiting for drinks. I tried all of the beers they had on tap that day, which I describe below and include my subjective letter grading. Overall, most of the beers were tasty and are a good variety for everyone's tastes. I tried them with and without some pierogies, and thought the beers did work well with and without food. I would like to see one fewer IPA, as they were quite similar. They didn't have any beer paddles for their flights, which made transporting back to the table cumbersome, having to squeeze between people at the bar several times for all the beers. As I live locally, I'd definitely return, but I wouldn't go out of my way as there wasn't any one beer that was very unique.
