I was buying and selling with them for years in Manhattan. I gave them a $2000 brand new never used Delvaux bag they gave me $63 back. And claimed that they didn't realize the value. Then a year before that I gave them a pair of Chanel shoes, which they of course lost . They gave me $100 for that . They're not to be trusted they're dishonest. They have really nice items, but they'll steal right under your nose and there's nothing you can do about it. ! I was connected to the owner, Laurie, through a friend who consigns at Roundabout. We had a nice conversation, and then she completely ghosted me. It was bizarre. I texted and called her several times, even going so far as having my friend mention to her that I was trying to get in touch, and she still didn't have the courtesy to respond to me. Like I said earlier, I hadn't gone into this place for years. It's hit or miss with the staff. Some are super nice, others make you not want to shop there. The daughter who I've spent tons of money with, watched me like a hawk checking out some designer bags as if I was going to steal them. Then later, barked at me over my mask placement. Sorry, I just don't need to drop $1k being barked at. Ask nicely, I can understand as I didn't even realize my mask was awry. Barking no. And it wasn't just me, it was nearly every women who was in the store around the opening hour at 10. I witnessed each and every one getting scolded. Awful business! Do not buy anything there, most items are significantly damaged none of the staff points out the imperfections so you cannot make a informed decision. I spent over $2,000 on a Chanel item, I asked for a necklace the item was actually a belt. The items are not marked with a description. Now I am left with a belt ( sold as a necklace) with major damage and no other consignment store will except. Poor management in the Westport store. They is no respect for their sales associates.

I don't know why the store has such a low rating. Whenever I have been there, everyone is very nice and helpful. Yesterday I bought a shirt on sale which was supposed to be a final sale. When I got home I found it was a bit too big, but knew they had a smaller size. When I went back today, they very kindly exchanged it for the smaller size - - even though I didn't have the receipt and had taken the tags off. The salesperson did this without question. The store is always clean and has a beautiful selection of clothing. I think it deserves a higher rating and recommend it for people who are interested in this type of clothing. read more

Very rude staff. They never say hello when you walk in despite the store being empty every time I've been in there. They make snarky comments about items brought in for consignment. The merch is fine and I've bought some nice items and sold some things. It has to be the owner becasue that kind of customer service trickles down from the top. When an owner or manager is rude, the staff feel entitled to be rude as well. There are much better places to shop pre-owned clothing in the area and in NYC with nice and friendly staff. read more

Everything is separated by season and color , it makes life easier! The bag selection is small to medium but very good! The shoes always look like they were used once or brand new. They sell used and new stuff. Chanel bags change weekly... Give it a try a few times ... Went here 2x before I got an awesome deal on a pair of Louboutins!!!! read more

This review is based on my personal experience in a recent visit to the Roundabout Designer consignment shop. Upon entering I observed four people standing at the counter talking. I began walking around, and was not greeted by anybody. As I walked to the counter I observed a man behind the counter. Walking up to him I greeted him and began to ask a question. Part way through my inquiry another woman approached him and he turned away from me mid sentence to converse with her. I turned to leave and then decided to go to him and stated that I though he was terribly rude. His response was that she had approached and what should he have done. I told him that he should have said, excuse me, I will be right with you to her. With that, I turned and left. My next visit was to Designer Label at 1344 Post Road E whereby I was immediately greeted upon arrival and asked if I needed help. read more

Read these reviews and stay away from this store! I have been a customer for many years and have purchased high end expensive items. Today, I went into the store to consign something that I had purchased a few weeks ago. Jasmine, the person at the register, was beyond rude, obnoxious and condescending. As I explained to her, I was following the store policy and did not want to return, but just wanted to consign. Her attitude was disgraceful and every word the left her mouth was said in a condescending way. Furthermore, she told me in an extremely patronizing way that if the decision was made for the owner to take my items - which I purchased from that store - she would let me know. Really? Her attitude was disgraceful. If it were my store, she would be fired on the spot. What does it take to be nice to people; especially a customer. My advice -- Go to the REAL REAL. I have purchased, consigned and returned to them. Their customer service is extraordinary... why bother with this kind of behavior at Round About. The Westport store thinks using hand sanitizer is a Federal Mandate. 2 staffers harassed me incessantly and told me if I didn't use their hand sanitizer I could not shop in the store! I told them I had used my own in the car, but they continued to harass, badger, create quite a scene and insist on the utilization of THEIR hand sanitizer. One had a gallon jug she lugged and tried to make me use it. Crazy doesn't describe the experience. Last time I'll ever shop there and many friends won't either. Roundabout is my absolute favorite place to shop in Fairfield County. The Westport location is large, bright and filled with beautifully displayed merchandise. You can find anything from well-established designers to newer contemporary labels to everyday brands like J. Crew. Regardless of brand, every item is in near perfect condition, with many new with tags. The prices are reasonable and if you shop during their end-of-season sale, you can walk away with beautiful designer pieces for less than $100. But the most stand-out thing about this store is the sales staff. In the many times I have been to this location, I have never had a poor experience with the service. All the staff are friendly and helpful, but never pushy. They're happy to offer an option or help you find find a specific item or a look for an event. Roundabout is truly as good as it gets!!! read more

Dropped off brand new designer shoes to get a price. They said due to COVID I would have to leave for 24 hours before they can look at them. They said after 24 hours they will look at the shoes and email me in 2 weeks with pricing. If I was unhappy with the pricing I can come back and pick them up. The pricing they offered me was terrible, so I said I am coming to pick them up. I show up and they had thrown out my boxes and dust bags. When I asked where they are they said in a dumpster somewhere. How do you just throw someone's stuff out without informing them? They are the most disgusting store and super disrespectful! Yesterday they emailed me saying the wallets were sold while I did not agree to sell and they said I could go on Monday to get them since they were at the wear house . this place is an awful and dishonest place . Don't waste your time at this place. I had a brand new pair of Christian Louboutins that my mom bought me 8 years ago at Barney's. I never got around to wearing them hence why I brought them to Roundabout in their original box and dust bag. The shoes were absolutely gorgeous and untouched- black silk with Swarovski crystal detailing. The employee accepted them on the spot and instantly handed me a consignment for to fill out. Flash forward a few weeks later and I get a call from a different employee asking me to come pick up the shoes because they are fake. Could this store be any more unprofessional? The shoes were the farthest thing from replicas and never once has anything in my closet been fake. I had to go out of my way to pick up my authentic shoes which were unfairly labeled as knock-offs. I don't know who they have inspecting their items, but they clearly have zero knowledge of designer goods plus I doubt that there are any Westport residents that wear knock-offs. I felt extremely judged and hurt by the way the girl working treated me after I went out of my way to pick up the shoes. I sent a follow-up email to the store and unsurprisingly got no response. Clearly, this place has no concept of customer service. In a town like this and in the consignment business in general, I have a feeling it is important to build relationships with your customers/consigners. I vowed never to return, but made the mistake of coming in with my mom who also had a few things to consign. They immediately denied all of her items including brand new gold Jimmy Choo heels and two brand new large Hermes head wrap scarves purchased just next door at Mitchell's. While she was at the counter, I decided to browse their selection. Most of the items were far from designer- several Lilly Pulitzer used dresses, juicy couture garments, worn Bally tank tops, and Lacoste polos. Overall a pretty cheap and tacky selection from a circa-2004 Westport housewife closet. If you're looking to consign, go to Then Again or a Second Time Around location (there's a few in Fairfield county). Good luck staying in business, Roundabout. The place always looks extremely empty and the salesgirls seem to think that they work at Saks. With the rise of online consignment apps (i.e. Poshmark and The Real Real), I doubt you ladies have much of a chance. read more

DO NOT CONSIGN HERE! They don't put your merchandise out on the floor; they don't pay you; they lose your merchandise. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! They hope you forget about your stuff so they can steal it. Roundabout should be called "RUNAROUND" for the excuses they give. Sold everything and used the $ at the store. Gotta love it! Also got to love my new Manolo's with the original retail of $685 which I bought for $289 :). Brought things to consign and was told a Louis Vuitton scarf, brand new James Perse shirts, and a brand new lululemon jacket were not upscale enough, and that the condition was not good. They were brand new! Why did I lug things in to them? Also, as a buyer... They are way over priced even for used designer items. What a way to lose a customer - Insult them. I have no idea how this store is still in business! I brought in clothes a couple of times in the past, unworn, high end and current and was surprised that they wouldn't take them. As I walked around the store I saw lots of clothes by Vince, Theory and from many middle of the road stores, nothing compared to the nice designer stuff I brought in. I inquired about the criteria for excepting clothes, only to be told that most of the items they accept still have the tags on and are new and current. I said I wasn't seeing that judging by what was on the racks and the sales person just repeated herself. How ridiculous and definitely strange! Something is not on the up and up in this store. I made a bet with a friend and brought in some really good unworn clothing, current, some by designer Joseph Ribkoff from Helen Ainston store in Darien. She said no way could they turn it down. Well they turned it all down. Hah! I won my bet with my friend who couldn't believe it having seen some of the boring rubbish they have on the racks. Something is up with this store and the way they run the business and from the other reviews I've read on here I'm glad they didn't take my good clothes.
