On more than one occasion the cashier closed ten minutes early and pushed ppl away from the door. The store probably lost over $100 in sales as the parking lot was full in front of the store. CUSTOMERS BEWARE I've been a customer of Route 1 Discount Liquors for years, until today. Today, I went to return a bottle of mixer they sold me that had expired in 2017 & was told they don't do refunds. The guy who rang me up starts displaying an attitude as he tells me to go see if there are any more of the same mixer that is not expired. Since they sold me the last bottle of that brand there was no other bottles to check so I'm told pick out something else. I don't needed anything else so I'm requesting a refund. He began talking about how do I know this is the same bottle, he couldn't read the expiration date, & wanted to debate the words "best if used by" VS "expired" date. All of that was nonsense! 1. When I noticed the bottle had expired as of 2017, I was not close to Route 1 Discount Liquors to take it back. So I went to another liquor store that had the mixer so I noticed the mixer here was so much lighter in color & was in a plastic bottle. The bottle from Route 1 Discount Liquors was in glass, that's how old the mixer was the packaging changed. 2. Route 1 Discount Liquors will sale expired products & say it's on the customer to check the expired date. I normally do but the date was very small on the bottom of the bottle in dark font that is close to the color of the expired mix. Plus, this was the first time I ever saw this brand so I had no reference to what the color of a unexpired mixer should look like until I saw the mixer at another store. 3. After having another employee read the best used by date of 2017, the cashier was trying to argue the product is still good, it's just best before 2017. So, 5 years past the "best if used by" date is fine with them & will sale expired products with no shame. I eventually got my refund but had fight for them to do right by a frequent customer. Unfortunately, I won't be spending my money there anymore. It's better, from a financial standpoint, to shop at LAX because they are less expensive than Route 1 Discount Liquors & you'll get better customer service! read more

Watch your prices when you go in the store ,they have sale prices but they don't honor it. I brought something that cost $34.99 on sale they charge me 38.99 . When I showed the correct they said they didn't update the prices. Always when you are dealing with a liquor store ask for a full receipt so you can see exactly what you paying this place will cheat .you and most liquor stores will. This is probably one of the worse liquor stores I've experienced bad customer service and I won't ever give this store another dime of my money and it's sad because I've came here a few times and never had any issue, but that all changed when me and my friend decided to get some wine. We entered the store and asked the two Ethiopian guys, who were behind the counter if they carried Riunite Raspberry Wine, they said yes and I asked for one of them to show me because the store is pretty big. He proceeded to show me but he had no clue where it was, and confessed they didn't have it and pointed to the Lambrusco wine, which I didn't ask for but I nodded and continue to browse while my friend looked for her wine. I thought it was odd how you work at a establishment but don't know where your products are or if you even sell it. Anyways I ended up purchasing some cigarettes and my friend brought a bottle of wine. Brace yourself this is where everything goes down hill so we purchase our items and continue to just look at the alcohol options in the store while doing that my friend notices her wine in the freezer and asked to swap out the warm one for the one in the freezer, they said okay while doing that we all realize it's not the same wine and she purchased the wrong item. So my friend then ask if they are the same price and the guy tells us they aren't. So we just asked for a refund because they wanted more money than we usually pay for the Beringer Red Wine and they basically refused to give her a refund back and we didn't even leave the damn establishment! Both of the guys had a smirk on their face as if everything was a joke and a game which made us more upset. Btw she paid with cash and I paid with a credit card. So she never got a receipt for her cash transaction but I got one because I used my credit card. We were the only people in the store and they remembered us. So it's not like it was so busy they didn't remember us. Anyways they refused to give her money back and said they don't give refunds and I said where do you have that posted? He couldn't point to one sign to verify that nor was it anywhere in my receipt. We went back and fourth for a good 10 mins, I told them I was going to call the police and have a officer come out and that's when they had some random guy come in the store and give my friend her money back ! I've never in my life experience some shit like that ! I won't ever visit this store again, I really feel like they were playing with us and refusing to give us our money back because we were females !! I'm sure if I was a man or had a man with us none of this would have occurred ! I would have also been wrong if I went upside their damn head or knocked Shit off the corner though, you don't play with people when it comes to money and you can't make up bullshit rules like no refunds but have nothing to back it up ! They fucked with the right females that day though ! I ended up getting my friend her $ 16.51 back even with a phone call to the police ! OK, so it's in a tired old shopping center, the parking kind of stinks and the decor is run down -- but who cares about that! For a relatively small store the selection is extremely good, the prices are better than other area liquor stores and the staff are very friendly. They are also open early until late. Route 1 Liquors is my go-to store for spirits. read more

I'm so sick of the passive aggressive behavior of the staff or employees... Go in and ask a question... Get a nasty answer... Randy is the worst. He won't get up to speedy with anything... But let's go to the check your receipt... You will be over charged... This how they make up the difference in there pay check... This is not the first time I got home and found that everything was not in my bag... But don't call or go back... They will say you didn't get that... Your receipt will never be itemized. They just want you to sign and move on to the next patron... God forbid you go to get a powerball or mega million tick!!! You get the witch from hell it's self... She's meaner then hell!!!!
