I really couldn't stay silent after witnessing what happened at Route 1 on Friday evening. I stopped by looking for a life jacket for my son and ended up speaking with a couple outside who were looking at jet skis. We talked for about 20 minutes about our experiences with the brand, our professional backgrounds, and local ties. The couple was impressive -- the gentleman, a lifelong local, is a charter captain, Marine Corps veteran, and product manager for a global company. His wife is a U.S. Air Force veteran, first responder, and first assistant surgeon at Holmes. They were clearly well-informed and had done their homework. We entered the store together but split up. I later overheard them ask two different sales reps if they had two 2025 FishPro models in stock -- both reps said no, only demos. The couple showed they had emails stating otherwise. A second rep eventually got the GSM (General Sales Manager), who approached them with arms crossed and a defensive attitude from the start. When the couple asked about a windshield kit (quoted in-store at $799 plus $149 install), the Air Force vet noted it's $399 online when customizing a unit. The GSM snapped, "Not for the FishPro, only the GSR -- look it up!" I did -- he lied. I built a 2026 FishPro online myself with the windshield kit listed at $399. The Marine mentioned he had connections with Sea-Doo dealers on the West Coast but wanted to shop local to support his community. The GSM's reply? "Then why aren't you buying from your friends?" By now, more staff had begun to crowd around the couple. The vibe? Intimidation and condescension -- not customer service. It was uncomfortable to witness and flat-out unprofessional. I backed away at that point because it was clearly not a helpful or welcoming dealership. It was sales pressure, defensiveness, and disrespect -- especially disappointing considering this couple's local ties and military service. To the dealership owner (if you read this): you need a secret shopper or three. This kind of arrogance and attitude starts at the top. You're losing good, loyal customers because of it. read more

This is VERY real review. 1. Henry (in service) is clear and direct. NO fan fare or hollow promises (a personable guy when you get to know him). 2. The prices are industry standard. (Bi-den caused this inflation) 3. Rick, ( their tech) has been doing it for 30 years. He, like Henry, is "no Nonsense" ; not there to make friends but rather give you a "conservative analysis" and honest repair. 4. I went in prepared. I did a complete print out of what I did to trouble shoot. If you take care of your toys and pay special attention in describing what has happened, it will save you time and money. 5. You are NOT the only customer. IF you're in a rush, either do it yourself or do what i did; bring it in off season so they're not as slammed. 6. The place looks and feels more like a high end car dealership than a motorsports store. That's a good thing. read more

Bought my son a brand new 2021 Yamaha 50 quad roughly around October of 2020. My sales experience sucked and should've saw that as a sign to walk out. Our sales person was Mike and he had a crappy attitude and no personality the entire time like he had better things to do. Which sucks because we do love their clothing/gear dept as they're really helpful. My son only got to ride his quad for about two months until the engine started making a horrible grinding noise and kept shutting off. I took it in to get looked at and get it's first oil change since I was there. The skinny guy with glasses helped me in service. A month goes by and I get a call that apparently the rubber plug from the kickstart popped out and water got inside from when I pressure washed it. I was told the noise was from water in the clutch assembly (which they drained and supposedly cleaned) and that the engine was fine and was told "just go ride it". A month goes by and we were finally able to take it back out to ride. Again, it starts making the grinding noise. But because we were told everything was fine and to "just go ride it", that's what we did. It wasn't until we were a couple miles away from our house that my sons quad shut off. We tried to start it and it turned over and then seized. When it seized, the starter went out as we could smell burning wires. I attempted to kick start the bike, but the engine was so seized, it wouldn't turn over. I got on my quad and went home to get my truck and trailer. We called Route 1 the next day to tell them what happened and again the same skinny guy with glasses helped us. When I was able to get an appointment a couple weeks later to bring it in, the same service guy checked his quad in. I explained to him what happened and that ever since we brought it home the first time and was told ride it, this is what happened. I was informed a week or two later what they found. The service dept tried telling me that total for parts and labor was going to be around $2100. Mind you, I was still making payments while his quad sits in the shop. I was frustrated and asked wasn't this all covered under the manufacturer's warranty? I was told no because the manufacturer warranty coverage period ended. However, these issues we experienced were the same issues we originally brought it in for when it was still under the manufacturer warranty coverage and was told everything was fine and to "just go ride it". I also happened to buy an extended warranty at the time of purchase and was told I was still looking at a $1300-$1500 bill because something along the lines the extended warranty didn't cover clutches and wear and tear. I said this wasn't wear and tear, my kid barely has ridden his bike for a couple months straight, otherwise it's been in the shop sitting. I was also told apparently these bikes are known to have starter issues. Along the way, Henry from the service dept starts reaching out to me and keeping me in the loop (he was awesome and understanding). Meanwhile, part of the fee was a $150 fee for corroded hardware removal. Seriously? How corroded could it have been if they cleaned everything up the first time I took it in? Only thing I can think of is they must've left his quad outside to sit in the elements for 3-4 months while we waited for parts. I remember getting frustrated one time Henry called me, I was ready to just let the quad go and let them keep it/repo because I was so frustrated with all the fees racking up and the fact the manufacturer warranty nor my extended warranty wanted to cover the work. After going back and forth with Henry, we were told the bill was going to be close to $700. We finally got the bike back but it still makes a squealing noise, not to mention for all these new parts we paid for, there is still corroded hardware outside the bike and on the handle bars (again, must've been sitting outside in the elements while there). This was our first Yamaha purchase and am extremely disappointed in their product and overall Route 1 service dept. Buyers beware!!! read more

Sales played a bait/switch game with me. Gave me a verbal price "out-the-door on a new Can-Am RT. I got excited, checked my finances and came back to test drive two days later. After I said "Let's do this" I was presented a quote over $1,200 more. He would not negotiate at all. Bad sales practice. I would up going elsewhere and picked up my new ride for $1,500 less than their original verbal. Moral of the story here is to shop around, go that extra few miles and you'll find another dealer who wants your business. read more

Bought a Slingshot SL LE on Black Friday. The sales staff was professional and took the time to answer all my questions and a long test drive. After putting a few miles on it I'm extremely happy with the purchase. It is an eye catcher, if you get one be prepared to answer questions. The other day my backup camera stopped working. I called Dean, the service manager, at 9:00AM and he said they were busy but could take a quick look... I ran down and by 9:30 they had it fixed and on the road. One warning, like Harley Davidson, there are many after market products to spend on afterwords, expensive options. The LE models are great... But making them distinctive... read more

"i would never buy another vehicle from route one .... the list of things that they did wrong is too long to post but here is an example ... they made a snorkel kit out of pvc pipe for $1300.00 which was a piece of shit and it broke 3 belts cause the air couldn't circulate..i had to order a snorkel kit from a dealer here in tampa and now i have no issues .... my can-am x3 caught on fire because of bad wiring that they installed ..my back up light up to this date doesn't work.. i had to drive from tampa to malabar many times to fix things that they put on the can am wrong ... they didn't even offer a free oil , mean time i'm spending all this fuel driving back and forth .... . this month i bought a rzr 1000 and a honda deluxe 1000 from a dealer here in tampa for two of my kids and i'm very happy ..... never again route one " read more

Eager to sell to you just not eager to fix or service the purchased product later down the road other than bad customer service and lack of communication their idea of "fixing" anything is not in a reasonable amount of time. They have a good inventory, just others (if you're willing to drive a little further) have better, along with the customer service to make the customer not only happy in the moment of the sale but in future fixes or regular maintenance. Made an appointment for my Polaris Sportsman to get the scheduled maintenance - all lubes changes as well as a light bar and winch installed. They were able to schedule the work in about a week and complete the work promptly on that day. They communicated well with me, let me know about what was going on with the machine, and let me know it would be ready for pickup by the end of the day. Purchased a "new" 2016 Polaris Slingshot that was from this dealership. When talking to them they claimed the vehicle had 160 miles on it and all factory recalls had been done. Once we received the vehicle, the vehicle actually had 900+ miles on it and more concerning is that NONE of the safety recalls had been performed even though they submitted the paperwork to Polaris claiming that they had been done. So ended up wasting my time, credit score hit for financing, insurance cancellation fee and overall frustration because they lied about the vehicle just to try and move it. I wanted to have a fun expierence buying a jet ski and I would not recommend this place. There is no deal. Salesman do not care to work a deal but instead was uninformative and took advantage of a first time buyer. I would not recommend buying a vehicle from this place unless you plan on wasting your whole day. They would not even give me a eta for the pick up I waited all day. When I walk in with 10 grand on a vehicle I expect excellent customer service as well as friendly service. This was not a good time and I will not be going back. On September 17, 2018 I went to Route 1 Motorsports to purchase new cover for my 2003 Yamaha FX Cruiser Waverrunner. I originally wanted to buy a Yamaha cover. I was told by Jessica Poindexter, Parts Manager, that a Yamaha cover was no longer available. She suggested an after market cover. I had the title for the jet ski as I had just purchased it . She copied the Vechicle Identification Number and gauranteed the cover would fit. About a week later I received the cover. The cover was over two feet too short. I tried to return the cover. Ms Poindexter insisted I was putting the cover on wrong. I asked to speak to a manger and Ms Pointdexter informed me she was the Parts Manager. She insisted I trailer the jet ski to the store. I did not have a legal trailer at the time. I then spoke with the operations manager who said I could take pictures and bring them in. I took pictures twice eight total, and both times was told they were not clear enough. I then bought a trailer, obviously not from Rt 1 Motorsports. I trailered the jet ski to Rt 1 Motorsports on October 15. Ms Poindexter attempted to put the cover on and took one picture. I was then told the cover would be replaced. On October 30 I was told I would receive a refund. About week later I did receive a refund. When I buy a new jet ski it will not be from Route 1 Motorsports. read more

They are very willing to work with you and give you a deal that both parties are happy with. Well push came to shove and sea doo did not make enough of the jet ski I was looking for so it was in available. I received a call from Mitch, and he gave me the bad news, I was about to give up. He told me to come in and look over two proposals that they had worked up. Going over then I was questioning if I should do this. By the end they had worked out a great deal and I am now a proud owner of a new Yamaha jet ski. These guys went beyond what they had to, to make me feel comfortable with the purchase.
