I rarely leave reviews, but I feel it's important to share my experience. Before making the trip, I called this dealership twice because I live in Brooklyn over an hour and a half away. Both times I specifically asked for an out-the-door price. I was told that they could not provide one over the phone and that I needed to come to the dealership and see the vehicle in person. I made the trip and met with the salesperson, who was professional, courteous, and genuinely tried to help. When I asked for the out-the-door price, the conversation kept shifting toward monthly payments instead. He did work to see if I could purchase the vehicle with little or no money down, which I appreciated. I wasn't comfortable with the numbers at that time, so I told him I'd come back with my deposit. The following week, I returned with my deposit ready to purchase the vehicle. That's when I was finally presented with the out-the-door price, which included nearly $5,000 in dealer add-ons, plus another approximately $500 package. I'll attach a photo of the breakdown so others can see exactly what was included. While the salesperson was excellent, my interaction with the sales manager completely changed my opinion of the dealership. I found him to be arrogant, dismissive, and unprofessional. Rather than respecting that I wanted time to review the numbers, he used high-pressure sales tactics, including telling me he had turned down another deal for me and asking whether the person I had on the phone helping guide me through the car-buying process was going to co-sign for me. I found those comments unnecessary and disrespectful. Because of that experience, I will likely take my business elsewhere. Classic bait-and-switch pricing. The vehicle was advertised online at one price, with small fine print saying dealer fees were not included. Once we arrived, we found out the "dealer fees" were nearly $5,000 and completely mandatory. We were told the fees covered things like reconditioning, detailing, tires, etc. -- basically the normal cost of preparing a trade-in vehicle for sale. I have bought many vehicles over the years and have NEVER seen a dealership tack on almost $5,000 in surprise non-negotiable add-ons like this. Josh, the manager, told us this is "what dealers are doing now." If that's true, consumers should run the other direction. I do want to say Javian, our salesperson, was fantastic and handled everything professionally. The issue is clearly dealership management and pricing practices above him. read more

I saw this 2022 Chevrolet Corvette advertised online for $60K and spoke with the salesperson Javion and the manager on the phone before making a drive over 2 hours to the dealership. After arriving, I was refused a test drive and then told the car was actually $75K with additional fees and markups that were never mentioned beforehand. On top of that, the salesperson and manager were very unprofessional and made rude comments when I asked simple questions about why the sale price changed and what the extra fees were for. They also made me wait a very long time just to get basic answers. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience and a complete waste of time. My experience was absolutely terrible; they are crooks--they ripped me off in broad daylight. Two months ago, I bought a van for work; the listed price was $17,000, but it had been in an accident, and the price ended up jumping to $30k. On top of that, I have to pay $13k in interest--something they never told me about--so the van is costing me $42k. I called yesterday, and they couldn't even explain it to me. Disappointed by Post-Sale Experience We purchased a Toyota Highlander from Rt 23 Nissan on May 26th. Initially, the staff was friendly and helpful. However, we were pressured into accepting a LoJack service we didn't want or need. After clearly stating this was an optional service we would not be using, we were still swindled into paying for it. We were told by John and Raymond that it was already included and difficult to remove--something that felt dishonest and manipulative. Unfortunately, the issues didn't stop there. On June 3rd, we returned to the dealership to have the coolant topped off. Raymond, who had been welcoming during the sale, was now cold and unapproachable. My father asked about the missing second key fob (which is usually standard), and Raymond seemed irritated and dismissive. The friendly treatment we experienced before the sale had completely vanished. We were also waiting for our permanent license plates and vehicle title. We tried following up via phone and email with Raymond but got no response. Calls to the dealership were repeatedly transferred by the receptionist, Bonnie, to Maria, who handles paperwork. On June 16th--just days before our temp plates were to expire--Maria told us the plates had arrived a week earlier, but no one had informed us. She did offer to drop them off, which we appreciated. When I asked about the vehicle title, Maria said she'd follow up the next day. That call never came. I followed up with Raymond again--no reply. On June 18th, I spoke with John, who said he would look into it. Again, no follow-up. By June 30th, I reached out to John once more. He responded with a brief "ok, let me find out" at 1:26 PM. Hours passed with no update. I called again and was told the title had been mailed on June 27th--but again, we were never contacted or given any tracking number. When I asked for it, Maria was reluctant to share that information until I insisted. Once the sale was made, it felt like we were no longer a priority. Communication dropped off completely, and the sense of professionalism we initially experienced disappeared. The pressure to accept a service we didn't want, followed by poor follow-through and lack of courtesy, made the entire process unnecessarily stressful. Advice to the dealership: Treat customers with the same level of respect and urgency after the sale as you do before it. Honesty and communication are not optional they're essential. A car purchase should feel exciting, not like a burden. Your post-sale treatment determines whether a customer will return or recommend you to others. In our case, we unfortunately cannot. read more

Internet price was $19,900 but when we got there and worked up the deal the price was over $32,000 and 10% interest rate for over 800 credit score. They lied about the additional "required" products. My dealership experience at RT23 Nissan in Butler, NJ was the worst I've ever had. I didn't feel respected the entire time, completely misled, and like a pawn from start to finish. They had the internet sale price almost $10,000 less than the number they tried to present to me as a legitimate in-person deal. They also tried to implement (by trying to make it sound like it was mandatory) a $4,000 dent protection package that I never asked for. It seemed shifty and intentional. Never did I think I'd walk out of a dealership and not recommend one, especially when the sales manager was unbelievably arrogant and not the least bit helpful - or should I say, felt like he couldn't be bothered to help any customer. Zaid, the finance manager, was worse - extremely disrespectful, condescending, and disbelieving, all because I'm 21. Everything I suspected of him and how he ran my deal was correct and furthered how unprofessional the place was. To be clear, Julio was the best part of this entire ordeal. He was respectful, he was honest, and he treated me like an actual person. The rest of the staff, especially management and finance, made it a scummy, deceptive, and customer-disrespecting place. Get there and the car has $8k with of extras... 4k for certified preowned(add says included), $2,500 for maintenance and prep another 1,400 in dealer fees plus 1k tags(insane most dealers are 400 bucks. Economy is in the toilet as well as car sales and this dealer is still playing the old games. I watched for a month and none of the cars sold and now I see why. My sales rep, Fermin, was helpful with my Ram purchase and seemed to genuinely try to do the right thing, so he personally deserves credit. Unfortunately, my overall rating is low because of how the dealership handled an issue after the sale. When I got home the evening of purchase, my son noticed a cut in the passenger seat. I called Fermin around 11:30 the next morning, then went in to show the damage. Instead of quickly addressing it, I ended up waiting three hours for a specific manager, even though another manager could have handled it. They told me I'd get a call Monday morning (8/11) with next steps. As of writing this, I've emailed Fermin multiple times (only one reply, late in the day), called both yesterday and today, left a voicemail for Anthony, and spoken to the front desk -- but still no resolution or promised follow-up. The seat repair is my main concern, but there are also smaller issues: the tailgate was supposed to have a factory spray liner but is missing it, three valve caps were gone, and recalls weren't completed on a truck that sat on their lot for four months. These are basic things that should have been caught in their Certified Pre-Owned and prep process. And, they charge an allowable used car Reconditioning Fee on every vehicle to boot. I've been in the automotive industry (parts, service management, tech work, warranty services -- NESNA) long enough to know this should have been handled promptly and professionally. I still hope Route 23 Nissan makes this right, as I love the truck -- but this experience has left me questioning their attention to detail and post-sale support. I purchased a vehicle from Route 23 Nissan and was charged nearly $7,400 in add-ons I never agreed to (LoJack, Sonsio, PSA Theft Deterrent, dealer maintenance). When I asked for documentation, it was delayed, and some forms were altered after signing. I later found out the LoJack wasn't even registered to me. I've since filed complaints with the CFPB, BBB, and contacted an attorney. If others are facing similar issues, I encourage you to REPORT your experience to CONSUMER PROTECTION AGENCIES so they can investigate. Transparency helps protect future buyers. We purchased a 2022 BMW from route 23 and overall was not impressed with this dealer if the car wasn't the exact spec we were looking for we wouldn't not have purchased here. The car was out of alignment right off the bat, had to go to BMW to get fixed. The car only came with 1 key. And on top of that once you go to talk number they charge $3000 for used car services and another $2000 for LoJack that they will try to sell you on. So the price you see online is not what you'll see once you talk numbers. Not to mention if you don't finance with the dealer they tack on another $1500. So writing this review so other people are prepared. EDIT: After purchasing the car the alignment was still not right after taking the car to my BMW dealer it was found the car had 3 bend wheels as well as bent rear suspension components. We just had an absolutely horrible experience there. Our salesman was Fernando Rosa Mejia. We left a $1k deposit on a used vehicle on Thursday and got a manager's permission to pick it up tonight. When we got there, they said that the engine had misfired that morning and that the vehicle was sent to auction. No one in the whole dealership had time to call us to tell us that the vehicle was no longer available. They could provide no proof of sending the vehicle to auction. The vehicle was 2 years old with about 16,000 miles and I'm apparently supposed to believe that the engine failed while it was sitting on the lot. They repeatedly said that they'd be more than happy to sell us a different vehicle. There was a lack of professionalism evident throughout the dealership. Today just happens to be the last day of the month so they probably wanted the vehicle off the lot asap. They rushed me out because they didn't want the other customers to hear me complaining. I am seeing many reviews of this dealership accusing them of bait and switch and I believe that is what happened to us. I will be pursuing this further. I told them that I will be pulling the CARFAX to see if the vehicle was sold to someone else and then they told me that the vehicle is being fixed and will be sold, the same vehicle that they said had already been sent to auction. The Manager also said that just because they take a deposit on a particular vehicle doesn't mean that they have to sell us that vehicle. I don't think that they know what a deposit it!! Funny, if you check google, ALL the reviews are positive and excellent and on yelp, they are all awful....as they should be. My experience this past weekend revealed all the negative things people associate with a "used car salesman" I am looking for a very specific used car, a red or gunmetal grey Nissan Rogue. I called the dealership before heading over to see if they had any on the lot. I spoke with Alec Montalvo. He was very sweet and told me he did have 1 gunmetal grey rogue that met my criteria, and he made me an appt to see it. He said they would have the car pulled around when I got there. I walked in and said I had an apt with Alec. Suddenly a salesman named Mario Grannison came over. I said I had an appt with Alec and in a very condescending way he told me "Alec just answers calls in the back". Ok. So we sat down and he asked what I was looking for. I told him a red or gunmetal grey (not silver) Rogue year 2020 or newer for $20K. He flat out says "That doesn't exist" To which I reply " I just test drove two of them at two other Nissan dealerships.....AND Alec said you had one here and that it would be pulled around for my appt" He again says "Alec has no idea what our inventory is, he just answers the phones". Then pulls up two OTHER Rogues in his system (one black and one white) that are both in that same year and price range (SO I guess they DO exist). I again told him I was only there to see the gunmetal grey Rogue. He says, "Don't worry, we will find the perfect car for you today" At that point I stood up and flat out walked out the door. Then, and this is the best part, a few hours later, I get an email from Mario himself, thanking me for coming in and sending me the specs for the car I test drove (I never drove or saw a car). The specs he sent were for the gunmetal grey car that Alec has made me the appt for. WOW. I mean, how stupid do you have to be to send me this type of email after I stormed out. I have since emailed and texted his supervisors asking for a call back which no one took the time to do. Hence this review. read more

Update... 08/28/25 On more time. Incredible how they take your money on a blink of a eye, and when they have to return take them months to do anything. I have been fighting and waiting since March. Last time I got the promise to get the money in 5-7 weeks, but nothing. Like another customer said "they are scam artists". TERRIBLE TO GET REAL INFORMATION!!! Update... 07/09/25 Here we go again. I got a contact from Mikey at Nissan trying to understand the situation, like the review below is not clear and they don't have all the records, then he informed me that all the insurance that I signed the cancellations in March, were never processed to be returned me the money, what Zaid Abass that did everything with me, was always blaming the bank, but he was the one that never send over to be paid back. Definitely a terrible professional. Mikey said that he would get it clear and clean, but so far I don't have my money back and the bank keeps charging me interest over a "cancelled" insurance. Also, they charge over another "service" (oil, filter, and checking the main points of the car like tires, rims) for 4 years, but even that they messed up, because they left the car with the settings off and the all tires with the wrong PSI big time. At this point I want to get the car back to them and all my money back. They don't deserve any business. Last time I was at the dealer trying to solve it peacefully, there was another person complaining for the same reason, that means that Zaid Abass does this trick with a lot of people and Nissan is allowing it. Unfortunately I'm really disappointed with the service and support. They tell you whatever you need to hear to make a sale, but if you need them to get things done, forget. You will die waiting. They don't answer phones, neither email. The financial team, specially Zaid Abass, will push on you every simple insurance possible because they make a great profit on them, then when you realize that all of them are a bunch of BS, and you make a scene at the dealership, they tell you that they will cancel. However it never happens, but the bank keeps charging you interest on something that is canceled, you no longer have the service. I got a BMW X7 with the promises that I would be able to get it serviced and covered Bumper to Bumper, including scratches and tires at the BMW dealer I decide to spending $11,000.00 in insurances, but them when I need the services, I get the news that none of the promises where true and I have to spend $4,000.00 to get the job done. They are ridiculous. You can get better deals and service on any other company. They promise dreams and deliver nightmares. read more

I expected to walk out disappointed; however, I ended up walking out feeling ecstatic!! We gave them KBB great condition with issues like the 4Runner had a vibrating drive shaft and other issues. they didn't budge they wanted 2 k over KBB value I went up to the best I could and was median KBB price. Beware of their Certified Pre-owned pricing. It is BS. I went to this dealership (2 hours away). I called first to ask about the pricing. I spoke to Bonnie and asked if there was any qualifications to get the price (military discount, college grad, etc) She said the only qualification was to finance through them. When I get there, the salesperson Julio was great. Nice guy, accommodating, informative. When he brought me my offer, it was about $7000 higher than was stated on the site. I asked for the breakdown (which in my opinion was deliberately not included in the offer). He got it for me and there was $4000 in some protection and $2500 in dealer prep fees. When the used car sales manager came over, he explained that those fees couldn't be waived, they were the CPO reconditioning fees and protection against dents, windshield chips etc. That was the part of the 7year/100K warranty. I stated that no where on the site did it say those fees were not part of the price stated. He hid behind a disclaimer "other fees may apply" Absolute misleading tactic as when you are searching for a car, see Certified Pre-Owned and a price, a reasonable assumption is that the price includes the costs that make it CPO. They continued to try to sell me other options and landed on another CPO vehicle almost identical in price and were all of the sudden able to sell it to me at a better price (they did not give me the breakdown again). Very shady, very deceptive. No integrity in this dealership. I will be filing with BBB and CPA. Buyer beware. read more

Ah, Route 23 Nissan--the dealership where dreams come to die... but not before they tack on a few thousand dollars in "dealer fees, service fees, air-fee fees, and let's-just-make-up-some-more-fees!" It all started with a "great deal" on a car that, according to their ad, might as well have been a unicorn because it was just as imaginary. As soon as I showed interest in this magic car, they transformed into expert fee-tackers. I mean, seriously, I wouldn't be surprised if the next thing on my bill was a charge for the "fee to explain the fees." After politely declining their "fee-for-all" offer and opting out of emails, the real fun began. Calls. Texts. Emails. Smoke signals. I'm starting to think they hired a carrier pigeon to drop off price updates at my house. Despite all my best efforts to break up with them, they just keep coming back like that one clingy ex who thinks "No" is a new way to say "Try harder." Now, if they stopped investing in the hourly wages of the fine folks hounding me, maybe--just maybe--they could save enough money to lower the price of the car to what they actually advertised. But hey, what do I know? I'm just a guy who thought "No" meant "No," and not "Let's see if he's changed his mind after 37 follow-up emails!" I recently had a disappointing experience with Route 23 Nissan, and I feel it's important to share my concerns regarding their business practices. During the financing process for multiple vehicles, I purchased from them, I was offered GAP insurance, which I accepted. I explicitly declined all other additional coverage. However, I later discovered that substantial maintenance packages, totaling around $15,000, were added to my contracts without my clear consent. I was unaware of these charges until another lender informed me about a maintenance package when I was paying off one of my vehicles. Upon reviewing the contracts, I found that these packages had been included on the same page as the GAP insurance, with small, nearly unnoticeable "X" marks indicating these additional coverages. These fees were added without my approval, even though I had verbally declined them. This occurred on all four vehicles I purchased from Route 23 Nissan. When I approached the finance manager about the issue, I was shown my signature next to the GAP insurance, with the additional packages hidden in the fine print. His response was dismissive, stating that I should have read the contract more carefully. I brought my truck into for service paid $1200 $175 for a towing fee and I had a Rent-A-Car for two days another $200 the day after I picked up my car had the same exact problem route 23 Nissan Butler would not tow my car back into the shop to repair the issue. I already paid for it, they told me I would have to absorb another $175 plus rent. Another vehicle are extremely rude hung up on me five times the manager Craig would not answer my calls. They lied and said he was on a test drive at 8 AM in the morning and then five minutes later, he was in the shop, he never returned my call business Completely deceptive. Purchased a used Hyundai Tuscon from Rt 23 Nissan in July 2024, three days later I tried to open the sunroof. It did open but doesn't close. Now they want another $5000 to repair the sunroof! The people in the service department are friendly enough but the sales department doesn't want to know me. Maybe ok to buy a new car at this place but based on the reviews I can see buying a used car is a big problem. STAY AWAY! read more
