Really good food and nice staff. A small place so expect to wait on a busy day. Some things are pricey (side of curry sauce ran me over $6). They're well known for what they do and it's a nice spot.

The food was decent. It was a pretty good lunch/brunch place while there were long lines everywhere. The service attentive. We sat outside so it eventually got a little warm.

Excellent food, terrific service and a clean washroom?! What more could one ask for? Came with a few friends since it was an in-game restaurant quest for our walking/trivia game, Cubieverse. I ended up ordering root beer and the Irish breakfast. It was the perfect amount of food for me. Some beans, fries, soda bread, two eggs and bacon...so good! Also, I love French fries and they cooked them the way I like best: crispy see through fries! We sat outside since the weather was nice and the servers immediately brought us water and silverware. After taking our drink order and letting us situate a bit, they came back for our food orders. One of my friends had a bee fly into his ginger ale can before he had a chance to drink it and they immediately replaced it with a fresh can! Quick and tasty with amazing service...I'd hands down come back again the next time I'm in Toronto!!

Look at this Apple pie! I will have to come back to try it. Apparently baked fresh daily.

What an institution! Amazing diner experience and they have managed to be in business for very good reasons. The food is great; worthy of special mention are the farm fresh eggs and the Irish soda bread. The service is friendly, the kitchen is efficient. I love the decor, red booths and all the kitschy toys, candies, and such. I should mention as kitschy as the place is, it is really clean. The best contribution to the vibe is the MUSIC imho! Awesome 80s and 90s hits. What's better than bopping to music while noshing on delish food?!

Classic Diner-style breakfast at The George Street Diner Very cozy and it's like what you see in the movies! Quick service and huge portions of food Ultimate Irish Breakfast that comes with Farrelly's famous Irish soda bread Western Omelette, it has the perfect amount of cheese and there's plenty of ham, pepper & onions! Can't wait to visit again & try out their other dishes

Old school Irish diner, in Moss Park. We sat at the patio, on a great weekend morning. The food is classic diner - but done very well; and the service is top notch. The diner was busy and we did catch a great break as a number of tables opened up just as we arrived - but it's well worth the wait.

We came here to try their Irish breakfast. They have an Irish breakfast and an ultimate Irish breakfast. They both come with eggs, meat, fries, sofa bread and a tomato. The ultimate one comes with all meet options along with some mushrooms and caramelized onions. The Irish breakfasts were delicious and we left satisfied. We really liked the tomato and the caramelized onions. It's a small diner and they have a 40 minute seating limit during their busy times so not somewhere you should go to chat/catch up during weekend brunch.

Food: 3 Stars Service: 3 Stars Ambience: 3 Stars Fill Factor: Filling There is something about diners and diner food that I really enjoy. I love getting something greasy with a nice milkshake followed by some sort of dessert so I was excited to try this place out. The first thing that jumped out at me when I looked at the menu were the prices. Though you do get a good amount of food, I felt that the prices were a bit on the high side. After a painstaking process I finally decided on the ultimate Irish breakfast which came with beans, ham, sausages, eggs, bacon, sauteed onions, mushrooms, fries and soda bread. I thought the food was pretty solid but definitely nothing special. I didn't know what the soda bread was so was excited to try it but it didn't live up to the expectations I had for it as I found it to be dry and bland. The portions here were pretty good so you will definitely leave full. I was hoping to get a milkshake as this was a diner but it didn't appear that they offered any so I was a bit disappointed. They were incredibly busy when I arrived so I feel like it definitely impacted their service. I found them to be borderline rude when I asked for a table but other than that the service was average here. In terms of the space, the decor and atmosphere was pretty unique. What jumped out at me were the figures along the window edge. The restaurant isn't overly big but there was a decent amount of seating. Overall my experience at the George Diner was decent. The food was pretty good though nothing special but given the prices I am reluctant to recommend this place. Give it a try if you're into diner food but not a must try. Also I saw a review which said this was cash/debit only but that is not the case as my entire party paid with credit card. They have a sign that states they prefer cash/debit but they do accept credit.

GSD instantly transports you back a couple decades. From the retro decor to miniature figurines on the windowsill, it just feels like home. We got the Irish breakfast and huevos rancheros. The flavours were great, food tasted fresh, and the portions were large. It's a must-have breakfast in the city!

Food was very great and delicious! The staff are very wonderful and friendly to talk to, the waiter was a humble and genuine person, great place to hangout and eat I'm hoping to come back this year.

Love the vibe of what it feels like a movie set diner. Place is narrow and doesn't have a lot of space to move around so groups of 2 or 4s would be best to sit comfortably. Not too busy during Lunch hours. Our group of 5 was able to get a table without reservations. Food was alright. A little bit pricey for what it was. I ordered the Irish Breakfast that came with 2 free range eggs, choice of sausage, ham or bacon, soda bread and baked beans. The soda bread was very crispy but the portion was a bit small. I'm not a fan of beans so although they couldn't substitute with something else, they were able to put those on the side so my friend could take them instead. The croque monsieur was essentially grilled cheese with a slice of ham. Not sure if it worths $16.95 plus tax and tips.

Food was good. Expect a long wait. We came soon after they opened and still had a long line. my blueberry pancakes were undercooked. They were RAW in the center. but the other dish was good.

Cute retro diner. There was a wait when we went on Saturday at noon, but the line moved quick especially if you are ok with sitting at the bar. Menu was classic diner items. We both got the ultimate Irish breakfast. Generous portion of eggs, fries, mushrooms, tomatoes (wish there were a bit more tomatoes), sausages, bacon and Irish soda bread. I was stuffed and couldn't finish. Highlights was definitely the eggs: the yolks were so rich and vibrantly orange, cooked to perfection with my preferred way (over-easy). Also got a coffee but it wasn't good. Worse than Tims or McDonalds so I would skip the coffee. Price was decent at ~20 bucks for the breakfast before taxes and tips.

Really crispy and delicious, they were definitely prepared well and hit the spot. I couldn't have asked for better hashbrowns. The buttermilk biscuits were also really fluffy and tasted good. No complaints here. The Hot Turkey French Toast however... I think they should remove this off the menu. We ordered it because it sounded interesting and we like to think of ourselves as adventurous foodies, but oh wow this was bad! We ate 2 bites each and couldn't eat more. Its just really dense and fatty and the gravy is way too overpowering and the flavors just don't go together. We were starving and hadn't eaten all day and couldn't get ourselves to eat more than 2 bites because we were frankly disgusted. It tasted really bad. DO NOT ORDER THIS. We came for a 2pm lunch on a Tuesday, and they told us the wait would be around 15-20mins which we said was fine. However, we ended up waiting 40mins, and we suspect that they let other people in front of us (told there were 2 parties of 2 in front of us but let in 3 parties). It gave diner vibes but was definitely more cramped. Was busier than I expected on a random Tuesday at 2pm. Low rating is for the awful main and the longer-than-promised wait time. But I do have to give them credit for the tasty apps. We might've just ordered the wrong thing on the menu but we're not coming back to find out, especially if the wait will always be this long.

Sadly there was no chair for her to sit down on yet it didn't stop her from going to her regular spot for a Sunday brunch. She told me that she has been coming here for many years, even before it was called Sammy's. Has it been 30 years, she asked herself? Either way, she made it known that she is quite the regular. Very nice and friendly lady. These are the types of regulars that make the diner what it is. There is a sign in clipboard at the front, as soon as you walk in. You have to sign in as part of contact tracing in case there is an outbreak of COVID linked back to this establishment. Make sure you do not block the pathway from behind the bar, I didn't block it but a large family with several kids needed a place to stand in line and wait for a big table, because servers will get very mad at you and tell you "I NEED TO GET BY! DON'T BLOCK THE WAY!" But there is no where to stand when the lineup is 20 people deep. This is something to think about once the weather gets colder and there is a long lineup out the door. Perhaps takeout would be a better option than to be yelled at by the short haired waitress with tattoos? While I did not mind waiting and I had a book to occupy my time in the lineup and at the table before I was given the menu, I could see that this was obviously a rush time, prime time lunchtime at the diner, maybe others might be a little more impatient than me? I could watch a snail crawl for hours, patience is a virtue. The wait is very long to get seated and even longer to get food. While the food was pretty good, and the other server was very friendly, attentive and nice, I think they were short staffed that day and nothing is ever as instant as fast food. My advice would be to go here when you have the time to wait. Don't come here if you are in a rush. It's better to only come here when you have lots of time to wait.
