As buffets go...? And as a past Chef, I can tell you 2 things for sure. Cleanest Restsurant maybe in Amarillo. Also the foid on their lines is cooked very well. And sone of tge best food I have come across in Amarillo so far. I just hope they are making money because if not??? ... Anarillo will loose this pkace. The scote ot has now is stupidly low and makes me question the lower scores on this site for them as is usually their more internet savy competion giving these ridiculious low scores. Today, every "hot" food item my husband and I served ourselves was COLD. I'm not talking luke warm- it was COLD. This could get alot of people sick if food tempertures are not kept at required temps. We will not be returning to eat there again. Last time we thought it was the time of day we chose to eat. Today, we went at 11:45, food should have been HOT. The food had been sitting out for quite some time, the mashed potatoes were the consistency of a good gravy!! Although there were lots of different buffets set up, the choices were slim!! The chicken was dripping in oil and old, the fish squares were dripping in oil!! The service sucked to say the least!!! Our waiter had 3 tables in his section, I had to take our tea glass up and get a different server to refill it!! Some of the other waitresses were just walking around on their phones! The price was EXTREMELY high, the service sucked and the food was a waste!! Even the dessert tasted nasty!!! They we're playing good music! Food is very similar to furrs, and what I've tried is tasty and well prepared, the staff is great and ready to assist with whatever you may need! The food was excellent! The cost was a little higher than it was ,when it was"Furrs". One of the owners came over to us, and we spoke briefly about our meal, and she told us that Saturday was ribs day! They had some ribs on the buffet, " I believe to entice us to come back Saturday ! Way overpriced for the offering. I ate dinner on a Saturday evening before the rush. No wait but the dinning room was about 80% full. $18.62 a person not including soft drinks(20.16 after tax). Food temps were all good with the exception of the chicken nugget, corn dog and beef ribs. The only Entre protein of Brisket was overcooked and under seasoned. Fried fish was surprisingly good, hot and moist, same with the fries shrimp. There were mash potatoes and gravy at like 3 different stations to hide the fact they don't have enough dishes to fill the buffet. Cold dishes were decently prepared and properly pickled. Desserts were basic and notably mass produced. It was not a terrible meal but at the price point you would paid the same amount to eat at all you can eat premium Korean BBQ next door. Service was courteous. Plenty of hosts but the dinning room staff seems to be overwhelmed with refills and clearing of tables. This would likely be a once and done establishment for me unless the price point is adjusted. read more

I was not impressed. Recently I have read how people miss the old Furrs and then how this was going to be like the original with old recipes and service but it is not. Nothing has changed except the price. It is exactly what it was when it closed a couple of years ago. Same layout, same buffet, same food items, no desserts but some pie. In my opinion the food was considerably worse. Most of what I tried was cold, many of the plate's still had little spec's of food stuck on them. And most bothersome was the fact they want you to tip when you first walk in the door. I get that you pay first and if you paid in cash they probably wouldn't ask but something just don't feel right about deciding how much you want to pay for a service before you get it. read more

I was really looking forward to trying this place out. I had such high hopes. They have the same selection Furrs had. Granted Furrs could be hit or miss their deserts were always amazing. I tryed Route 66 twice & I was not impressed. 1rst off it was 20 bucks plus I left a 3 dollar tip. The fish was fishy vegies way over cooked and just not good. I saw they had millionair pie & thought maybe theyd redeem themselves but I was really disappointed. So my conclusion is this place is way over priced for the quality to be such as it is.
