Recently we went into Rowdy Hall for a celebratory birthday drink. there were 4 of us When we walked in we were so happy to see seats open at the bar. We asked if we could sit for a drink and the bartender told us we needed to eat with our drinks. We asked if we could share appetizers and we were told no we all needed to order a substantial amount of food with our drinks those are the rules! So we walked down the street to The Palm. We not only had drinks there at the bar but decided to stay for dinner as well. What a shame Rowdy Hall didnt need or want our business. read more

Rowdy's replaced an old Irish bar called O'Malley's not all that long ago. I summer in East Hampton but I'm originally from the Southern Adirondacks, and I've seen hillbilly/wannabe cowboys fight in bars on a nightly basis (lots of times the fights are on-and-off about the same things for like four months), so this place isn't exactly rowdy in my view, but it does get crowded beginning around 9. They've changed menus a few times and it seems to be getting a lot more white collarish, probably because those summer dollars are beginning to mean more and more. But the typical bar food is still on the menu. But maybe that new menu is working, because the food is a lot better than you're going to get at the average bar. If you get any kind of beef they'll cook it however you want, but buyer beware, rare means rare. Not the best beer selection in the world but it's still good with a lot of local brews and the service is pretty quick. I can honestly say that the service there is good and the help friendly, giving it a true small-town down home feel. Like I said, the later it gets the more customers there are, but it's not even close to being too rowdy to handle. It's not exactly cheap but the prices are fair and it attracts a balanced crowd. I would recommend repeat visits for sure. read more

Rowdy Hall, once upon a time on Egypt Lane, is neither a hall nor rowdy, well sometimes it's rowdy, like on Rowdyween. Mainly it's nice dependable spot in the village for cozy conversation, hearty pub style fare and draft beer. The prices are reasonable-ish. It's part of the Nick & Toni's family of restaurants, and fittingly is well run with a good staff. The burgers are famous, though sometimes the cooks need to be reminded there's a difference between medium rare and well done, also once fries are fried once they get tossed out, not fried again and served. The mussels are great and there are many salads loaded with goodies and I believe the only Shepard's pie in town. The desserts inspire children to eat all their dinner, like the brownie sundae that sends my kids into frenzy. A cautionary note; don't touch the remote control for the TV in the bar, that is Joe's. Pretty bad experience. My godfather ordered a turkey burger which took a half an hour to arrive--they told us it was because turkey burgers have to be cooked for at least twenty minutes, which is totally false. I ordered a burger with fried onions and mayo, and asked for a straw. Thirty minutes later our waiter shows up with a hockey puck turkey burger, a burger with no fried onions and no mayo, and no straw. In order to get my mayo and onions (and straw) we had to interrupt the poor hostess who was having her shift meal, because our waiter was just chilling on a chair near the kitchen doing nothing. Also everything's over priced. I've spent time in the Hamptons before and understand there's a little bit of a Hamptons' tax. this was above and beyond that. read more

Nice chill spot for dinner. The staff were all very friendly. My IPA was good, duck wontons were delicious, my salad was tasty but a little small (so order a larger entree if you're feeling hungry). Prices were surprisingly reasonable for the Hamptons. read more

Not sure why, but have not been to Rowdy Hall in a very long time. On a recent visit the burgers were as good as I remembered. Cooked medium rare with bacon and cheddar cheese. The fries were delish! Of course that was after we polished off the candied bacon with blue cheese appetizer. I'll be back again soon. read more

We went to Rowdy Hall to watch a World Cup game. Great beer selection and attentive staff. We ordered Croque Madam, Fish, ​and chips and a Falafel salad. Everything was so tasty!! The prices are reasonable considering the neighborhood. read more

One of our Go To's in East Hampton. Great food and drinks and very friendly staff. If you want a solid burger or another American grill standard, you really can't go wrong. I like it! It's a pub, with pub food, but with all the nice aspects to a pub and none of the bad ones. It's actually located down a little alley (yes, an alley in the middle of the Village of East Hampton) between the fancy jewelry store and the movie theatre. I've had the brunch, french onion soup, burgers, and fish & chips and loved them all. Of course I order pub food in a pub place, and can't speak for the non-pub type food. The fireplace is great for winter-time. Family friendly. The bar is set off from the dining room with plenty of stools in you want to eat there. read more

We took our kids here and they both enjoyed the experience, while the adults enjoyed the quality food and the great beers on tap. It appears mundane in the Hamptons to spend money and receive a good but common experience. Rowdy Hall is not a common experience. The food is exceptional, the service spot on, the environment a classic pub, the bar selections may not be large, but well done. I don't normally order fish and chips; but at the Rowdy Hall they are served as they should be - in newspaper, and the home made tartar goes perfectly with the fish and chips. I would highly recommend this dish. Everyone in our party of nine ordered something different; no one was disappointed. I believe the ownership group also owns the Town Line BBQ, Nick & Toni's and La Fontina. I also ate at La Fontina and found the food to be right in line with what I had come to expect. read more

Friendly busy bar and restaurant with a surprisingly wide ranging menu, down to earth but extremely well prepared dishes. Great service, wide selection of apps and entrees and super desserts. This place used to be good. The current host is surly and unfriendly - completely disregarded me, dining alone, in deference to the couple behind me in line, who pointed out that I had been there first. His response was that I could wait. I'm then shown to a crappy table by the bar. I should have left then, but stuck with it. Started with a bowl of soup. Turns out, the table next to mine also ordered the same soup as part of their mains. They'd had their apps and were awaiting their mains - the same Host, confused on who's ordered the soup (my table or theirs) leaves it with them - despite my attempting to get his attention to clarify that it's intended for me. Their mains take good ten minutes to show up - and I'm left waiting 40 minutes for a bowl of soup because they screwed up the order and it had to be replaced but they don't tell me that. Instead, although the waitress was lovely, she excused the delay on the kitchen instead of the meathead acting as host. Rethink eating here. read more

Great meal last night but the service was off! We had a small child with us and they brought his food right away. This was great but he was done and ready to go before we got our dinner! Rowdy Hall is casual dining at its best...comfort food, friendly, accommodating staff and a terrific crowd of easy-going people who spend time well. The ambiance is "tavern casual" with wooden chairs that would be a lot less comfortable if the wine and beer selection wasn't as good. There's a long menu of comfort food, with just enough salad and veggies to ward off inconsolable guilt. The chili is epic! And the desserts aren't so much unique as they are just what the bad angels suggested. Go for it! This place lets you think that East Hampton is still a small town with people who will recognize you when you come back a few times. And on Saturdays...sit at the bar and watch the game! How not to address a patron with a nut allergy that you have just fed walnuts to despite explicit inquiries about nuts and disclosure of nut allergy: "we're all just dumbfounded about how pecans could even get in there because we're all aware of nut allergies and don't even stock that kind of nut" Listen lady: I think I've done a pretty good job of notifying you calmly about the pretty serious error made - mostly the only reasons I'm not comfortable yelling at you right now, going back to the actual plate of food and rubbing your face in the giant walnut chunks baked into every bite and so forth is because that would be socially awkward given that I'm the only non-white person in your incredibly white establishment and because I'm so shocked by how unexpected such a response is and therefore unprepared to respond. I'm also distracted by worrying about how much nut I may have swallowed accidentally and trying to decide what I should do about the situation. So cognitively I'm not at my most focused. I hope your waiter informed you that yeah, I may erroneously have called your friggin walnuts pecans, but he and my husband both witnessed the aforementioned giant nut chunks (which I am definitely allergic to) after I dug some examples of aforementioned nuts out of said dish. The reasons why I am writing an angry review and flossing nut chunks out of my swollen mouth instead of being dead: I ran home and swallowed a bunch of benadryl, and had spit out most of my first bite, hopefully heading off the worst of an allergic reaction no thanks to you. Also thanks for being cheap, it was wonderful to still wait and pay 90% of the bill before going home - everything except that one dish. This place sucks!!!!! My fries were dried up and over cooked taste like they haven't changed the oil in months. The eggplant in another dish was so thinly cut you could almost choke on it. Horrible service very slow, our waiter never came over to ask us for a refill in drinks , plate were not cleared. People who came in after us were served and well on their way. I will never be going back. Ever. I had the fish and chips. Gross And my husband had the salmon he said it was over cooked. Got to be the worse place to eat in east Hampton village. I omit 1 star only because I think it's a bit pricey. I mean not everyone that comes out to the Hamptons is rich. The place is cute and the beer selection, not so cute. The redeemer is they do have one special tap with a special craft beer. What I didn't like was the x-tra premium price. I had eggplant fries and they were great. Crispy on the outside and not too hot on the inside. The glazed bacon is sooooooo good! I am sure from the quality and presentation the entrees are just as good. Very disappointed with this hampton hot spot. We ordered buffalo wings to start (your basic), fish and chips, and an ear of local corn. The fish and chips was very greasy and the corn was plain and next to flavorless-which is strange because the local corn here is supposed to be delicious on its own. The worst part of the entire night was the french onion soup-which I DIDNT EVEN ORDER-my aunt ordered it and the scent of the soup was so nauseating I was unable to eat my sub-par meal in peace. The soup smelled like a wet dog, NOTHING in a restaurant is supposed to smell that bad! The service was unprofessional, as the plates were cleared as my cousin was still eating his corn (he ended up placing it on the table) and we had to ask repeatedly for water refills. Been here a few times and always had great service. Went back today, had the Sunday burger special (burger, fries, ticket to the movie theatre down the block for $22). Wonderful deal, great burger, lots of fries. Our water glasses were always full, and the staff was extremely attentive without hovering over us. The desserts are good, but nothing too special. My 90 year old mother and I visited yesterday. The waiter's reply to my mother requesting that her chicken salad sandwich be cut in half was "the kitchen won't do that". I asked the waiter to make the request. Sure enough the request was denied and the sandwich not cut!? We, to ourselves, were like you have got to be kidding me! Great casual lunch and dinner in East Hampton. Located adjacent to Newtown Lane right before the road splits. Very relaxed atmosphere and great service. The patio seating is the best part especially if you can manage to get one in season. I had the Rowdy Hall burger which was tender and juicy with their steak fries. Great place for groups! read more

Very solid place offering pretty reasonably priced (for where it is) upscale pub food. One of the few places in East Hampton with no frills. The mussels are usually my preferred order but pretty much everything is solid. Won't be your best meal in EH by any means but a great pre/post movie option or when you want a lower key dinner compared to other Hamptons options. It's also great in the winter when the fire place is going as it stays open all year. read more
