Talk about a hidden gem. One of the best little finds in Montauk. Crab corn chowder was delish and so were the fish and chips. Get a painkiller too!

My brother and I were on a nostalgia tour of Montauk, and ended up here after walking around Gosman's Dock. We had wanted to go to what's now Mary Lou's but used to be a restaurant we went to all the time on family vacations. The security guards and swarms of influencers in sparkly dresses and cowboy boots made us quickly realize this wouldn't be an option for dinner. We started walking back toward Gosman's and noticed The Dock tucked away on a side street. We decided to grab a drink at the bar and regroup on next steps. The ambiance here is very casual, its a busy spot with a large indoor bar and a handful of indoor and outdoor tables. Our bartender was a master at tending to the rush and took care of us quickly. While we were deciding what to do next, we made conversation with a local Gosman's fish monger who let us know the food here was worth staying for, and even went as far as to ask one of the staff members for the name of what the restaurant next door used to be for us as we were trying hard to remember. I'm so glad we stayed, because the food was really on point here. Clam chowder was hearty and had plenty of clams. Their steamed clams were incredible, fresh and packed with lots of chopped garlic in a broth that you'll want to drink. The star of the show here is the tuna melt: a giant fresh tuna steak served on an English muffin with cheese and some of the best fries I've had at a restaurant in ages. Glad to have made another core memory here in Montauk at The Dock.

Not dog-friendly at all. Don't come here, even if you have a service dog. Their window sign says "No screaming kids," yet there were still children running around and yelling. They should probably update the sign to also say "No service dogs." On top of that, many of the items listed on the menu were no longer available. Total waste of time coming here. We waited 30 minutes in the cold only to be told we couldn't eat inside or even out on the patio.

We sat outside after about a 30 minute wait, but no complaints it's worth the wait and more! The service was attentive and professional you can tell these are career servers they move like a well oiled machine. Now onto the food, the Jalapeño poppers are 11/10 I would come back just for those. The special fish sandwich was very fresh, light and well done. The mahi mahi bites were breaded and had a buffalo wing vibe but a very generous portion. The nachos were great and the mozzarella sticks were solid. This place has a great local small town vibe and the food is spectacular.

Super solid spot! I love the Phony Negroni. So nice to see non- alcoholic options like that at a divey place. I've had it before and made me so happy to cool off with a mocktail after a hot beach day. Clam chowder and fried calamari were great to start. And the soft shell crab sandwich was really tasty too. The sauce it came with complemented the deep fried crab very nicely. I enjoyed dinner here. The only thing is that it's pricey! $150 for 2 people including tip

Food was okay but over priced. Truly a locals only spot. Order off the specials menu. Restaurant has character, water readily available.

Everything tasted incredibly fresh. I started with the fluke sushi, which I'd never tried before, and it was delicious. (I wish I could accurately describe sushi/fish in better detail, but I can't so just trust me on this one!) For my main course, I ordered the hot lobster roll, and as an avid lobster roll-lover, it did not disappoint. The lobster was served in generous, chunky pieces with just the right amount of butter. It came with fries that were perfectly crispy, though I do wish they had been seasoned a bit more. The restaurant overlooks the inlet, making it the perfect spot to relax and watch the boats come and go. The staff was welcoming, and the service was excellent from start to finish. They also played great music -- that particular day they were playing country music (a southerner's dream!). Last but not least, another bonus is the location. There are several charming little shops just steps away, making it easy to browse before or after your meal. My biggest fear is it's going to be super crowded the next time I'm back in Montauk and I won't get a table. With that being said, I absolutely cannot wait to eat another amazing lobster roll with that lovely view! 5 stars for the lobster roll, 5 stars for the view, 5 stars for the hospitality!

An Absolute Must in Montauk!…read more What an incredible evening at Bagatelle Montauk! We are a family of five--all adults--and from the moment we arrived, Luke and the entire staff made us feel like a million bucks. Attentive without hovering, incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely welcoming. The service was every bit as impressive as the food. We started with the pizza, grilled octopus, and burrata with peaches--an absolutely perfect way to kick off the meal. I had the prettiest tuna tartare I've ever seen, and somehow it tasted even better than it looked. Then came the mains. The lobster linguine was fantastic and large enough for the whole table to share. The steak arrived sliced and ready to eat and literally melted in your mouth like butter. The ravioli were perfect. And then there were the ribs! You don't see ribs on a menu like this very often, but boy are we glad we gave them a shot. They were outstanding. As good as the food was, what really made the night special was the hospitality. After dinner, our kids headed home while my wife and I wanted to stay for a nightcap. Luke went out of his way to set us up in a beautiful, romantic spot where we could relax, have a drink, and simply enjoy each other's company. It was such a thoughtful touch and the perfect ending to an already wonderful evening. Bagatelle is an absolute must when you're in Montauk. Beautiful setting, fantastic food, exceptional service, and a staff that understands how to make dinner feel like an experience. Thank you, Luke and the entire crew. We will absolutely be back! Very Disappointing Experience at Salivar's…read more We went to Salivar's around 5 PM and sat at the back outdoor bar. They had just opened for the evening, and we were the only customers there at the time. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill quickly. We started with two drinks. My boyfriend ordered the $18 lobster bisque, and when I asked him how it was, his response was basically, "so-so." For $18, we definitely expected better. I ordered the peel-and-eat shrimp, and I immediately noticed something wasn't right. I was having such a hard time peeling them that I called over one of the waitresses who knows us because we've been regular customers. I showed her the shrimp and said, "Look, I can't even peel these." Her response was that they must have been frozen. That really bothered me. This is Montauk in peak season, and when you're paying Montauk prices, you expect fresh, properly prepared seafood. I mentioned the shrimp to the bartender, Alex, and to his credit, he removed them from our bill. What made the experience even more uncomfortable was watching the bartender appearing to hide the fact that he was vaping while working behind the bar. His behavior also seemed off to us. Regardless of the reason, it did not come across as professional and certainly isn't something I expect to see while sitting at a restaurant bar. We eat out frequently in Montauk and are regular customers at many local establishments, so we know what good food and good service in this town can be. Unfortunately, this experience was extremely disappointing. After this visit, we will not be returning to Salivar's.

Truly, the cocktails and menu at this restaurant are so inventive and flavor packed it feels as if there has to be something supernatural happening in the kitchen and behind the bar. We came here in early May and sat at the bar. Dillon took great care of us, walked us through the menu and made stellar recommendations all around. After having my mind blown by the Everything Bagel Martini, we moved on to share the charred octopus and Leggy's Thighs. The charred octopus was tender, and paired so well with the citrus fruits on this plate, plus the bite of pistachios?! So well put together. Leggy's thighs (RIP Leggy) were literally the best chicken I'd ever had, fall off the bone tender and topped off with flavorful furikake and hot pickled fresno chilis. We also split the Wagyu sando which I'm literally still thinking about. Wagyu on milkbread?! What an excellent idea. Live acoustic music was going on the night we were here which really added to the cozy ambiance. They also have trivia here on Thursdays (Dillon, if you're reading this, we hope your team wins the championship). 10/10 no notes. Come here if you can get a table.
