This was my first time to file in this court house, they took the time to explain everything in detail. They were a pleasure!

The new family court has plenty of seating and technology in the court room. There are clean bathrooms at the end of each wing. The judge that I have been seeing for my child support case gives the other parent so many chances. I also watch others inside and she gives a lot of the other chances. After she gave me my options my dad wanted to pull me to the side to give me advice since I am not familiar with court proceedings. She said fine but I am putting you to the back of the line. We spoke for one minute and because of that she decided to be petty and make me wait for everyone in the court to talk to her before calling me up to put in my plea. It was a complete power trip on her part and although she probably has a miserable life she doesn't need to bring that energy into court. I don't think it is right to have a person of such low manner be in a position like this. Everyone else was very nice but she ruined the entire experience.

You can't rely on them for legal advice, or for accurately passing on information about what you're supposed to do in the event you should find yourself needing to know what you're supposed to do, but they smile, and they're not mean. Not like some municipal court employees, who are mean, and don't smile, and act like it's all they can do not to call a judge and ask him to hold you in contempt. Stay away if you can.

When I arrived we lined up and they tore off one little juror card and we were all immediately excused "due to Covid"! The court attendants were all very nice. So, I did go through security so I could use the restroom and then I was on my way back to Dart to catch the train home. I've never been here for Jury Duty, I've always gone to Frank Crowley in the past. The building and hallways looked very clean and the restroom was spotless.

5 stars. Will visit again…read more If you are going to do the bad things, I suggest you do them in Rockwall county. I'm giving this 5 stars because every time I stop by for a mandatory visit, SGT Munson and the gang treat me well. I just don't like having to show them my front and back privates each time I stop by. Its not very neighborly. Sometimes when you're in there for a while, because you did the bad things, you'll get a middle-of-the-night, "show us your privates again and cough" surprise. Also, what's pretty cool about these folks is that they'll pick you up, wherever you are, regardless of what you're doing for free, to come spend some time with them for a spell, even if you don't want to. I suggest all who are physically able to, to try to work as a trustee. It's a blessing from the monotony and you are giving a bit more liberty within the jail. The kitchen is a lot of work but you can build camaraderie with the COs and with fellow trustees. Sometimes they even let you listen to the radio. Inmates are given 3 hot meals a day. I never complained because we were fed for free each day, when in Venezuela, free people don't even have that luxury. We also could shower everyday here...with hot water! There's chapel service once a week. There's a tiny library to use if you ask. There's counseling available once a week if you ask for it. I used it to figure out what the heck I was doing with my life and why I was not learning my lesson as each mandatory jail visit was subsequently getting more painful, costly, and making my judge super mad.

The landscaping is well taken care of but inside does not smell so fresh. The steps are steep and intimidating. I don't like heights. The Security Officers were very nice and helpful. The Gentleman explained to be where I needed to go. He was also friendly when I asked him questions. There's a small Museum to the left. It was pretty busy. I saw a kid doing a book report for class, along with a few other visitors. I ran into a Police Officer and he told me where to go too. The ladies in the office went the extra mile to help. Parking was near by. You just scan and pay. I saw two Brides getting their Bridal Portraits. It was such a nice moment. The fourth floor has a colorful Rotunda that many people enjoy seeing. This is definitely a unique Courthouse with lots of pictures inside. I would definitely recommend this courthouse.

Staff on the 3rd floor are also very helpful and informative. Parking is easy to find on Belknap Street--just a few blocks away. Bring coins for the meters!
