Had a wonderful experience at The Roxy. Was here half and half for work and personal; the front desk host, Zillah was FANTASTIC! I'm from Vegas, so my bar for hospitality is high, and she delivered. Being from "hospitality capital of the world," nothing frustrates me more than all fluff and no actual helpful service. Zillah was the opposite and I loved it. No nonsense straight shooter, clearly compassionate about my time and ready to give me solutions. I booked a standard room not knowing it was just a full size bed (my husband who was traveling with me is 6'2" and 200 lbs, he would have threatened divorce at me forcing him to sleep on a full size bed). She was quick to inform us of this and get us the last King Size room available - and thank goodness she did! She took what would have been an unpleasant and cramped trip and made it something comfortable and memorable. Thank you Zillah! Accommodations were very clean and comfortable, and given the lively nightlife (Django Jazz club downstairs - MUST see!), it was helpful to have a built in white noise machine. We slept like (sleep trained) babies (look, I've got a 4.5 year old, I know that saying without a caveat is the biggest lie ever). We watched some of the World Cup games at the bar downstairs which was a great nightcap. As for location - Walkable from the Canal and Franklin St. subway stops. Central for what I needed (work stops at both Midtown and Downtown) with some stops for fun around the city; I'd absolutely recommend staying here! read more

This is a really cool hotel. Great lounge area and sizeable and stylish rooms. It's also in a great location. So why am I only giving them 3 stars? I came during an expensive time, right around the world cup finals. I paid around $1500 for two nights and probably spent another $300 on food and drinks. Not cheap. The first night there was a really sweet and kind bartender. The second day she was there again but shifted out and was replaced by two of the worst bartenders I've even come across. Aside from the fact that I had trouble understanding the one that actually spoke (thick accent), he talked fast like he had better things to do and was in a hurry, which didn't help with understanding him. We had a misunderstanding over which oysters were discounted for happy hour and he was totally rude about it. We cashed out and started a new tab in the lounge just to escape them, which sucks because we were enjoying ourselves at the bar. Strike one Hotels have this terrible trend of pretending they are in Las Vegas and charging resort fees when they are in no way, a resort. Most can't even name anything special that would constitute a resort. This place is no different. I had an early flight out the next day and checked out around 430am. At checkout I was informed of the "resort fee". I was having none of it. I used nothing but my bed and paid extra for everything else. He apologized and said he would waive it. Annoyed but I was pleased he removed and went on my way. Later that week, I see a $72 charge on my Amex. I called and they charged me anyway. I called and tried to explain to the guy at the desk, who also agreed to waive it...again, but he was super dismissive and rude about it. All in all, it's a really cool hotel and I may stay there again but it's not cheap and the service is lacking to say the least. read more

This was a great location walkable to little Italy, Chinatown, soho and it's in tribeca. One of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. The bellman a tall African American gentleman I forgot his name was very helpful That was it for the positives. When we first checked in the front desk staff was short with us not at all welcoming, did not say welcome and just seemed rude. The other bellman not the same one I mentioned was to take our bags while we waited for room said " yeah yeah I see you just a second and I'll get it". So first impression horrible. The center of hotel looked kinda cool kinda old looking. The room itself was ok but man that ac was soooooo loud and about 2 feet from my head on the bed it was definitely hard to sleep with the amount of noise. The complimentary toiletries were all open and used except for the bathroom soap. The shower didn't drain until I was done with shower and waited another 10 minutes gross. While checking out I told the staff first about water in shower and he just shrugged and said well u booked through Expedia WTH?! Apparently that was the end of the conversation. I did think telling him about the toiletries would go much better so didn't even mention it. This was not a cheap or economical choice of hotel. Rude staff mid room (except the bed) not staying here again. Not recommended. read more

Stayed here for my birthday weekend & was left a little disappointed. Hotel is located in a quiet part of Tribeca only a couple blocks away from Chinatown & soho. For a hotel with a hefty price tag I was left wanting more. If you're looking for a stay at a hotel to relax this place may not be for you. If you're looking for somewhere that is lively, has a number of amenities & multiple bars, a restaurant, movie theater & a jazz speakeasy then this place is for you. They have life music in the evenings, the sound travels and you can hear it well into the night. Getting a seat at Django (located downstairs) can be a bit difficult if you don't score one on resy. The hotel staff were great, very friendly & helpful. Check in & check out was easy. They offer a number of perks if you're an Amex platinum member. read more

I booked a stay for 4 nights here due to its convenience in location around SoHo and FiDi. Breakfast every morning was fresh and good with no complaints. Coffee bar made great matcha lattes and the kitchen made good eggs and breakfast selections. The room itself was clean and had its old vintage twist to it but it did the job and the important things like the air condition and bathroom was all modern. Nothing amazing stood out but it was a good hotel in a good location with decent food options in the morning. It's lively at night with music and vibes. I would book this place if you want to be in a safe and good location near some of the best parts of Manhattan! read more

During a last-minute extended stay in New York, I needed to find a hotel quickly and saw the Roxy listed on my Hotel Tonight app - the price was reasonable so I booked it without thinking too much and headed over from the hotel I was checking out of that morning (Public - which I love, but for completely different reasons). As soon as I arrived at the Roxy, before even stepping foot inside, the doormen welcomed me, helped me with my many bags (shopping in NYC with too small of a luggage will do that...) and assisted me inside. Immediately at check in, I was asked if I would like some water or prosecco. Ummm... prosecco, please! I forgot to mention I also was able to check in early (around 1pm rather than the standard 3pm) as they had a room available and ready. After check in, someone helped me again with taking my bags up to my room. I wish I got his name but he was super nice and personable. When I got into the room, I was honestly super impressed by the size! For new york, this is a spacious room and bathroom. The adorable SMEG fridge was fully stocked with any and all goodies you may want to indulge in. There was also a tray of snacks (not pictured). There is menu for room service (nice!) and the bed is super comfy. I plan to check out the restaurant/lounge later tonight for some live music and drinks. All I can say is I am SO glad I chose this place on a whim and will absolutely be returning! read more

This was my first time visiting The Roxy. My date and I just went for appetizers, a drink, and some vibes. This establishment has been there for like 1,000 years (I'm obviously exaggerating), so it has a beautiful old New York aesthetic. We ordered the oysters roxyfellar and the octopus. The oysters were EXCELLENT, but I wish the portion offered a half dozen instead of just 4 for the price. The octopus was cooked well and quite delicious. My espresso martini was amazing (and I'm a bit of an espresso martini snob). There was an old school live band playing relaxing tunes featuring drums and a bass. The entirety of the experience was a dope, classy setting that made for a lovely Saturday evening. I'd definitely go back! read more

We last stayed at the Roxy Hotel, when it was called the Tribeca Grand, during the 2003 blackout when the lights went out. Back then, the Roxy was a hip and elegant hotel, a trend setter in this burgeoning Tribeca neighborhood. The building and the rooms haven't changed much, except the Roxy Hotel has nothing to do with hip and elegant. This hotel is all pretense. The design is old and the attempt at being cool more Jersey Shore than Brooklyn. The people at the front desk are haughty for no reason. The woman at reception who is trying to look like Grace Jones was laughably rude to us, and my wife forced me away before I told her what I thought of her attitude during my 75th birthday weekend. Noise resonates throughout the atrium designed building, a leftover from a bygone era started by Hyatt hotels. The pool tables from the lobby serenaded us even though we were on the top floor. The band at the lobby bar accompanied us in our bedroom. Our room had a built-in white noise buffer with a sound akin to 16 air conditioners at top speed. Why did the Roxy install those? This is a noisy hotel. Our room was circa 2000, with no outlets for technology. I had to move furniture to plug in my laptop. The bathroom is odd and looks dated, with a flimsy shower curtain holding back the water. Housekeeping forgot to replenish the water or the coffee pods despite my daily gratuity, and I was compelled to ask reception for them every day of our stay. The best thing about the Roxy is the location, still superb after all these years. Most of the clientele at the Roxy donned baseball caps and jerseys, staring at their phones, contemplating nothing more than their nails or their bets. They barged into the elevator before we had a chance to exit, and many reeked of cigarette smoke. If this is your scene, you will adore the Roxy Hotel. However, if you are over the age of forty, and are staying in Manhattan to enjoy a classy NYC stay, find another hotel. read more

Hotel is fine, but watch for junk fees! Roxy charges a $45 per night amenities fee that's not clearly included in the room pricing or the initial charge. On my booking site, it was hidden behind a information button. This fee was charged to the card I had presented for incidentals a couple of days after I checked out. The Roxy day or night has numerous activities and spaces for outings. Dates, friends day/night out, and family friendly space. There's a dance club, theater, and live performances throughout this hotel. Easy to commute next to the A canal station. Great for all seasons especially nyc winters. My go to oyster bar where you can enjoy live jazz within the gazebo. The bartenders and waiters are well dressed and highly professional. Nothing but great service. The decor is mod retro with a romantic dim setting. There's an assortment of cocktails and wine but the food was a surprise. My guest and I happen to catch Sunday noon brunch. We just had to at this point, once I saw pancakes, it was a wrap. I ordered the brown butter pancakes which had cooked apple cubes and cinnamon served with maple syrup. It was definitely brunch priced but worth it. I tasted layers of cinnamon and apple spice. The syrup was light but great compliment. My guest had eggs Benedict served with side salad, Canadian bacon on top English muffin and chopped fried potatoes. For drinks, cappuccino with oat milk and Americano. We ate everything on our plates and enjoyed our coffees. I was impressed. During brunch, there was live jazz that made our brunch cozily entertaining. It was a perfect Sunday afternoon and will continue to return here for future events and activities. Restrooms located lower level. You don't have to be a guest to enjoy the lounge. This is what I think of when I think of a hotel in Manhattan. Very stylish but on the small side. They have live jazz and a movie theater which is cool. Why 2 stars you ask...My checkin process was painful. The person in front of me had an issue and was taking a long time. There was another employee next to her who was just hanging out and when I asked if she could help me, she said I had to wait. Ok...then a guy cuts in line in front of me and they started helping him and I had to step. Perhaps it was that experience but it rubbed off on my view of the room. It not great. We loved staying here for just one night on our annual xmas in NYC visit. Such a cute downstairs area with pool tables and games and lotsa space to hang out. The check in process was easy despite the attitude of the women working that day. I asked a simple subway question and got treated like I was being annoying. Didn't appreciate that. When we were notified of our room being ready, it was MUCH better once we officially checked in with a lovely professional man from Florida. He was awesome and gave us a quick rundown of the property. He comped us 2 breakfasts as well! We felt special. We had a king loft suite and it was so roomy and cutely appointed with large windows that didn't face the ongoing construction. I was concerned about the street noise as it was only on the 3rd floor and was facing 6th ave. It was SO quiet and there is a white noise control system in the room but we didn't need it. Good location near all main subway lines (N-R-Q Canal street, Franklin 1-9, and A-C-E Canal) and easy access to Soho up west broadway and good dim sum in Chinatown. Adorable room, and a great doorman/baggage pro Derek who helped all of us when we arrived and when we were leaving. He takes venmo so just ask and remember to tip your helpers! Stayed here for three nights. The good: Location - plenty of bars and restaurants nearby, walkable North to Soho or south to Chinatown and Wall Street, subway stop outside Bar/Lobby - Nice coffee dock and bar where live jazz bands play most nights, also an oyster bar and pool table. Make reservations for the evening though. They were training new staff and also they were installing new reservations software so I'll give them a pass regarding checking in and out. The bad: Hotel residents should not pay extra for the cinema and the jazz club downstairs when a nightly $35 amenity fee is already built into the cost of accommodation. I asked a staff member what I was getting for my €35 a night and he said the use of the bar area - a bar area which is open to the public free of charge. I'm calling bullshit on that one. Room service trays were left on floors for over 24 hours, not very hygienic or efficient. Rooms could do with better soundproofing, more modern amenities such as USB ports and definitely upgraded shower heads. read more

Did not stay in the hotel but went for dinner, drinks, and a 2 hour jazz performance on a Thursday night 830-1030PM on the lobby floor Ambiance The room facing the stage is BIG. Leather couches and regular sized tables plus huge carpeted ramps The bar next to the room was bifurcated by glass and was not overly crowded but very little bar stools --like they expect you to stand---and 2 sit down tables Cool venue with a movie theater in the basement too! Food We ordered the charcuterie board, fries, chicken sandwich and fries plus 3 espresso martinis and 2 rosés by the time we got to sit down on a couch Charcuterie board was $28 and I was unimpressed. 2 BIG pieces of cheese and no knife nor fork. Honey with no spoon. The cheese seemed old not aged, I mean it has been sitting for a bit. Espresso martinis tasted like a cold Americano with too much water. Fries were cold. Special Note Overall, it might be confusing for first timers because there are multiple entrances and one requires a reservation while the others don't. Enter through the main entrance, you will see a click! Django, the real jazz club, is in the basement with small tables, dim lighting, and charges $25 cover I would come back to watch the performance on the lobby floor and maybe Django. I go to New York City every summer to celebrate my birthday. This year was a milestone birthday, and I came to celebrate with friends and family. I have stayed at the Roxy Hotel in TriBeca for the last ten years, other than the one Covid year, and I have always been very happy with everything and everyone connected to the hotel. It's in a great location, walking distance from Chinatown, Little Italy, the lower east side, and Battery Park. There are also many subway lines within a few blocks of the hotel. When I called to make the reservation, I spoke to Lissy Guzmán, the front desk supervisor, and she was extremely gracious. I had never met her, but she was very attentive. She gave me a good price and made the reservation. I also called her a few days later to make a reservation for my daughter. When I arrived, Zillah greeted me with a glass of prosecco. She was extremely friendly and attentive throughout my five day stay. Kelly also greeted me upon arrival. Roger was also extremely gracious. Everyone who works there goes above and beyond expectations. When I arrived, a bottle of champagne and birthday cake was delivered to my room. Lissy was responsible for this extra treat. My room was great, as always, and quiet, as requested. There is music at night, but once I went up to my room, I didn't hear it. The restaurants are excellent. I had breakfast there every day. My daughter's flight was delayed and then cancelled, so I changed her reservation to two days later. There was no problem. Two days later she again went to the airport and her flight was again delayed and then cancelled. She gave up and never came to NY. There was no problem cancelling the reservation. I have met many wonderful Roxy associates throughout the years, and Lissy is, in my opinion, at the top! She was beyond attentive to my every need, and extremely friendly. She even made my friend who came to visit feel very welcome. I hope she and the others, who are right up there with her, will be there for many years, because I plan to keep returning to the Roxy, my favorite hotel! read more

4.5 Stars 12/3/22: We met up with some out of town friends for brunch. Upon entering the Roxy Hotel, we were greeted by a lovely young lady. Think her name was Chenielle who offered us bottled water. While we were waiting for our friends, we noticed an old fashioned photograph booth. Price $5.00 for 4 vertical photos. Of course, we mugged it for some photos! Seating Area for Brunch was very nice. You step down into a pit area where there are circular booths and table and chairs. Overall seating was very comfortable. Food was excellent!!! We ordered New York steak and eggs, Eggs Benedict, Salmon Benedict and French, toast. I ordered the New York steak medium. It was cooked perfectly! We were lucky to hear some jazz musicians while enjoying our food. Service was highly attentive, but not overbearing. The rest rooms are located downstairs. You can either walk or take the elevator. Unfortunately, I need to take half a star off because the restrooms need more constant attention. Unfortunately, some customers are just messy. Lots of parking lots in the area. We parked in a local lot with use of the Spot hero app. Street parking can be very tricky. All in all, I would come back to the Roxy for brunch! read more

What an experience! Retro and glamorous vibe. From the staff, to the cinema to the Django...I had a terrific stay at The Roxy Hotel.

The Roxy is such a great, little boutique hotel. The lobby, restaurant, bar area is awesome, especially with live music playing. I do wish there was more seating for the restaurant/bar, so I'd suggest making a reservation. It's also nice to have a good coffee bar downstairs if you're a guest. Check-in was pretty smooth, although it would be helpful if there were more people at the front desk. We got lucky when we checked in/out, but there were always people waiting behind us. We stayed in Deluxe King which was perfectly fine. The retro decor is fine, but could stand to be a bit more functional. There was a surprising lack of outlets (none by our bed) and no places in the bathroom to hang hand towels. We had a few minor issues during our stay, but the staff was kind and quick to response. Food from the restaurant and drinks from the bar were great. Room service was fast and tasty. The burger on the dinner menu was great! All in all, I'd stay here again. I wouldn't rank it toward the top of my favorite NYC hotels, but the value is mostly on point. read more

One of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had - AVOID. Our stay at The Roxy Hotel was a disaster from beginning to end. We were moved to a different room every night due to the hotel's poor planning and mismanagement. Not once did the staff take accountability or try to make the situation right. Instead, we were treated like a nuisance for simply expecting a functional and consistent room. Service was appalling. Colette at the front desk was rude, condescending, and aggressive -- completely unfit for a guest-facing role. Nick, the manager on duty, was equally unhelpful and dismissive. When we raised concerns, he didn't try to resolve them -- he just offered to check us out. It was clear he wanted us gone rather than fixing anything. Cleanliness was also unacceptable. Each of the rooms we were placed in was dirty upon arrival -- hair in the shower, grime on the floors, and obvious signs they hadn't been properly cleaned. Housekeeping skipped our room entirely one day, even though we were out for hours. We had to chase basic necessities like towels and hangers, making multiple requests that were often ignored. One night we asked several times for clean towels and never received them. We were also locked out of our room with no explanation, waited 15-20 minutes every time we needed help at the front desk, and had water issues in every room. On top of that, we were charged for minibar items we never touched, and even after some were supposedly removed, more unexplained charges appeared post-checkout. I emailed the general manager directly outlining all of these issues -- and he didn't even bother to respond. The minibar charges are still sitting on my credit card, and they've completely ignored every follow-up. This hotel is disorganized, unclean, and shockingly indifferent to guests. I would never stay here again - and strongly suggest others steer clear. read more

My husband and I have an 8yr old and no family living nearby, so every now and then our son gets invited to sleepover at a friend's house and that means mom & dad get to have a fun sleepover too! For this past Friday night, we decided to stay at The Roxy Hotel because we love staying in or around soho for our overnight jaunts. We had attended a screening of True Blood at The Roxy Cinema about 10-12yrs ago, but that was all we really remembered of The Roxy. To our delight, the hotel still had its Art Deco charm. We booked a deluxe king room and were pleased to walk into a clean, comfortable room with lots of charm. There was a wonderful assortment of snacks and mini bar options that we took part in. I loved that they also had phone chargers and his/her intimacy kits as options as well. It's like they know what's up. We didn't spend a ton of time at the hotel, but our sleep was comfortable and restful. The king bed was cozy and firm, which I prefer. Our room got a tad warm in the middle of the night, but that was a simple fix to the in room thermostat. In the morning we ordered room service which arrived promptly within the 30-40min window that they gave us. I ordered the traditional English breakfast and my husband ordered the New York breakfast. I ordered my eggs poached and they were very tasty. My baked beans were dry though, which I thought was odd. And the tomatoes were tiny tomatoes, cooked & skinned. A bit different as well. The New York breakfast consisted of a bagel, cream cheese, lox, onion and capers. My husband seemed pleased. The reason it's a 4 star and not a 5 is that the room was quite small for the price tag of almost $600. And the breakfast wasn't the tastiest. But all in all it was a great experience! read more

I stayed at The Roxy from May 22-25, 2025 and experienced something that left me feeling unsafe and dismissed. After switching rooms due to a mildew odor, I noticed a bodysuit top I had been carrying went missing. I called the front desk around 4:00 a.m. and described the item. The same staff member who helped with the room change came back upstairs. When we met in the elevator, he said, "There's a purple top downstairs," but had no explanation for how it got there. It was 4 a.m., and no one else was around--there's no reasonable way it could've made it to the lobby without him being involved. I reported the issue the next morning and was told the manager would call me. He eventually did, said he'd "look into it," and then never followed up. I had to go find him two days later myself, and he told me there were no hallway cameras and made an odd comment like, "He didn't even have a key to your room." It felt like deflection, not concern. There was no resolution. No apology. No accountability. I left the hotel feeling completely uncomfortable and unsafe--so much so that I didn't trust the staff with my luggage after checkout. I personally walked my bags to the holding area and asked if there was surveillance because I no longer trusted the environment. For a boutique hotel at this price point, this was beyond disappointing. I would never return, and I hope other guests think twice. --- read more

I booked this hotel purely because of the location. I had a work training nearby and I needed a place nearby. It was a very interesting hotel. It has a cinema and jazz bar; although I did not partake because I had longs days ,and just crashed when I returned to the hotel.I would like to come back and actually enjoy these amenities with friends.The hotel is definitely dark in interior, as it follows a jazz theme. I was worried I would not be able to sleep due to live music,but my room had a sound machine which was great. Complimentary Prosecco was a nice touch upon first checking in. What can we say about The Roxy? We have stayed here several times now and have been impressed with the ambience, the rooms, the amenities, and the staff over and over again!
