This was my childhood go-to theater and when I'm in town visiting my parents, we love seeing movies here especially over Xmas break. Things I like: - New reclining seats that you can almost sleep in - Upstairs lobby has local beers on tap - Good food selection for kids and adults - Lots of theaters - they do some cool independent movies at times Look it's a big movie theater, will there be popcorn at time on the floors sure, but generally speaking I've found them to keep it fairly clean and location right in downtown can't be beat. During COVID these guys were on top of it, but I'm glad we're past most of that now and they can be fully open again, almost forgot how fun it is to see big blockbusters on huge movie screen with epic surround sound, and my kids love going. They were just old enough to start going when the pandemic started and never got to go for the first 18 months it felt like. Comfortable seats and good food but its super expensive to just sit and watch a movie. For by girl and her kids it was over $100 dollars.

The Halloween cult series double feature was not only fun but only $10! I highly recommend checking one out when they have one. They have the luxurious seating where you can recline your seat back and choose your seats. It's been clean every time I have been and they will validate your parking from the grave for 90 minutes, with movies these days, I usually expect to pay $1 in the garage. They have a good and friendly staff, this movie theater and the airport are probably my favorites in our area. I used to love the Rialto in Sebastopol, but it's just run down and so pricey. Not that movies are inexpensive these days, this just is worth it with the stadium seating and recliners for long movies and double features. This is one of my clients favorite theaters and they wanted me to add this to my review. You can purchase your tickets online and ahead, everything is very easy. But they also have a booth. So disappointed!! My sister is now in a wheelchair and I wanted to take her to the movies. The doors are not Ada compliant, the employees are too busy in their cells to care and you can't even get a drink holder for multiple drinks nor can they count back cash. I will never return!!! I just got back from Shang-Chi after not having sat in a theater, as a matter of fact it was also this theater, since December 2019, and I must say, despite the fact we've just endured a pandemic where personal hygiene and public health have been on everyone's mind, assurances by businesses, including this one, that they are "on it," do not survive contact with staff and employees on the ground who are not paid enough to care, as I found Roxy Stadium 14 Cinemas' fancy new reclining seats to be filthy! In the first seat I tried there was popcorn between the cracks. I moved to another seat and came into contact with something sticky on the back of my arm. When I got home I had to shower to get the filth off and wash my clothes to get the smell out. Obviously disinfectant blowers as depicted on their website are not cutting it, the seats need to be vacuumed and wiped after every showing, and of course they won't pay anyone enough to do this. And one wonders whether the air conditioning has proper filters and vents have been redirected so as not to blow across people. And one wonders why there isn't a vaccine mandate to enter and why they aren't checking for vaccine proof at the door. I have mine on the app on my phone ready to show. read more

LOVIN THE NEW ROXY REMODEL...... WOW. What an upgrade from the old Roxy. It's still under construction but the end result will WOW you. Today, I went and saw "The Meg" in theater # 1. I was a little unsure about selecting my seats at the window. I'd rather do that when I get inside. But now I understand why. The seats are like ginormous pleather recliners. Totally a good idea to select them early. SUPER COMFY !!!! There is a great wall divider in between every row to provide privacy. Best part is, there are no more heads in your way. The only distraction was the new rainbow LED lighting to light the steps is WAAAAAY TOOOOO BRIGHT. It's a major distraction in your peripheral vision and takes away from the movie. If you have poor peripheral vision, then you should be fine. Don't forget to validate your parking at the Roxy window or the concession stand to get 90 mins of free parking. It had been a while since I had seen a movie on the big screen mostly because it's not as comfortable as watching from a cozy sofa but with the newly updated reclining seats, I will be visiting more often. I loved the ease of booking and selecting my seat online. I was able to walk up to the box office and scan my ticket and walk into the theater with ease. The seats were fully electric and recline to a comfortable reclined position without obstructing my view or bothering anyone in front of me. The traditional concession fare was available and made for a fun outing. I will definitely be visiting this theater more often. read more

Would rather drive to a different town than see a movie here. It's a shame but this place is just gross.

Soooo. My boyfriend and I were just trying to watch a movie this Saturday evening, we got the top left seats, nobody else in the theatre besides around 8 people so it was fairly empty. 20 minutes into the movie, this woman walks in and made her way to the top. I thought that maybe she just came into the theatre late, no biggie, until she sits directly besides my boyfriend when there are about 50 empty seats, proceeds to turn her entire body and stare us down in silence. I ask her "do you need something?", to no avail. The weird ass continues to stare us down for 45 seconds, gets up, walks down slowly (with a limp as well), rummages thru her bag, and in this moment I really believed she was about to pull out a gun, but thankfully she slowly continued her way down the stairs and walks out. My boyfriend and I kinda sit there contemplating what the actual fuck just happened in shock, and then we decided to dip out. We told the manager, who couldn't really do much because she denied that anything happened, so he just told us the most he could do was watch her and not allow her to enter any other theatre. She also told him she had tickets to another movie, not the movie theatre we were in, and that she was waiting for her husband? Idk, bad juju all around, suuuuper fucking creepy considering the things that occur out in public nowadays. Maybe possibly could've been a case of domestic violence, but in that situation you'd say something or pass a note, not just stare us down, not saying a word nor moving, supplying us with straight nightmare fuel. Don't come here unless you want to be terrorized with the anticipation of an active shooter, at least we got a refund & the manager was kind. read more

I have lived in downtown SR for 20+ years. I frequented this theater many times over the years. Since covid not so much... I've gone a couple of times to the movies in Sebastopol with my mom. I went today for a Thanksgiving movie. There was literally nobody there. OK so nobody told me there were cushy recliner seats. They were amazing. Button control for legs to extend. Snack tray and cup holders. I'm sold.... I will probably come here weekly if I can. read more

I took my son and his girlfriend to see Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom at the Roxy Stadium Cinemas yesterday. It has been a while since I went there. There was a very short line to buy tickets which was nice. I asked for a senior ticket and did not have my glasses on when I purchased but was charged a Matinee price. (I know, not a big deal it was only a .50 cent difference.) I entered and there were six employees behind the counter and three customers being helped. Two customers left and I went over but the employee already walked away. I went back to the other side, there are some columns right in the sight line of the counter. That employee also left. There are still six employees behind the counter, two are talking and the other three are stocking and one is helping the only other customer. I stood there for a couple of seconds, seemed longer and no one asked to help me or look my direction. I guess popcorn, candy and drinks were not in the cards today. (Saved us some calories.) We left and walked to the escalator. The UP escalator was out-of-order. We climbed the stairs and the second set of escalators were working so we took those. The theater was fairly crowded so we found some seats near the top. Wow! I forgot how tight those chairs are. We had to walk by two people seated at the end and they had to stand up to let us in. I guess I am spoiled from going to another theater with reclining seats, which someone told me the Roxy was in the process of installing? The Movie and sound were great; temperature was great but I ended up getting a cramp on my hamstring. I could not straighten my leg to work it out. Even moving my leg sideways, I could not extend it and I am not tall. I ended up staying there so as to not in convince the others next to me. Summation: Service at the snack bar could be a great deal better and was a zero stars, Escalator broken, one star as the rest were working. Movie screen and sound was a four star; seat were a one star but they were comfortable. One star for having my parking ticket validated and still ended up owing money to park. One star for no ticket line but charging the wrong price. All-in-all a one-star rating. Will not go back until they complete the upgrade and see if their customer service has improved. read more

In the last year, I had some seriously unpleasant interactions with employees at this establishment--two girls in particular who were inexcusably rude. I've been a paying customer of theirs for almost two decades and am entitled to some common decency, especially when there are barely enough moviegoers these days to keep the doors open! For a while I vowed never again, and I gave my business to Rialto instead. But... they didn't always have the movie I wanted to see, and I suck at boycotts. I really do. They require a level of commitment I simply don't possess, at least when I actually like a place. And I've gotta be honest, the Roxy is my preferred theatre in Santa Rosa. Aside from being the most accessible, the seats are comfy, the screens are big, prices are decent, and the temperatures aren't alarmingly low. The cleaners aren't the most thorough. I've found some wacky sh*t left behind (used ladies' underwear being the weirdest), but it's no big deal, and I usually have a good time. So yeah, I started going back there again, and I'm glad I gave them another chance because those nasty employees don't seem to work there anymore, and the new ones are all pretty chill. read more

My first time at this movie theater. It was absolutely filthy. I saw a ton of employees in the lobby looking at their cell phones while garbage was all over the floor, food counters, condiment station, escalators, etc. All the garbage cans were overflowing, including the bathroom. The lights designating the rows were out and we couldn't figure out where our seats were. It was just gross all over. No one takes pride in this establishment. $14 for a matinee time frame seat? Yes, the new seats recline, but a family of four cost $50! Really? And after 20$ at the candy stand, I struggled to enjoy the movie... unsure if I will return. So we all know that theaters are suffering right now due to the pandemic, but Roxy doesn't make it easy to support them. I recently attended a showing of The Suicide Squad with three others (party total of four), which is available free on HBO Max (which I have). I'm a big fan of seeing films on the big screen and so far have elected to see every HBO Max release in theaters instead of just at home. Shortly after the start of the movie, this ridiculously loud female shouts "fuck you!" at the screen (I guess in response to what happened?) before partially standing up in her seat and yelling out "I'll be here all fucking night!" I guess she is an aspiring stand up comedian. Anyway, several people in the audience yelled at her to be quiet. It did not work. I couldn't tell you what happened for the first 50% of the movie because I was so distracted / pissed off by this loud mouth lady that would not stop yelling full sentences at the screen, playing on her phone with maximum brightness, and making additional attempts to be the center of attention during the movie. Eventually, I had enough and left my seat to go to talk to management. I eventually was able to briefly speak to a male manager and a female manager, who seemed pretty gung ho about the situation and immediately took off to my auditorium. After entering, I pointed out the lady that would not stop causing ridiculous disturbances. Both of the managers spoke to the lady, but I have no idea what was said. Eventually, they stepped off to the side, and seemed to just watch her. During this time, the lady continued to speak and make comments, and even turned back at me and flipped me off. For whatever reason, this did not spur any additional action out of the managers, who I'm pretty sure saw it all transpire. After a short period of time (maybe a minute?) one of the managers came up to me in my seat and asked me if I would be willing to move to get away from the disruptive lady. Now why on earth as a manager would that be your way of handling the situation? You're supposed to move the problem, not the witness to the problem. I told the manager that I would be willing to move to another seat in the top row (where I was seated) if any reasonable seats were open. Unfortunately, that was not the case, as only the far corner was available. I'm not willing to sit in front of the loud mouth clown that management now confirmed they would not handle, and I'm not willing to view the movie I paid for from the far corner because management won't handle a problem appropriately. Anyway, management did nothing and left. And of course, the lady continued to constantly be a problem - every single time somebody laughed at a scene (which is of course completely appropriate), she would verbalize comments about how everybody is allowed to "talk" except her. She also continued to turn around in her seat and make remarks towards me. Eventually, with about 20 minutes left of the movie, I had enough. My group came to the consensus that we would just leave and watch the movie at home. I agreed and went to speak to management again. This time, my entire demeanor was much different, and I told management they needed to give me a full refund - which they did. After receiving the refund, I returned to my group, who came to the consensus that we might as well stay for the remaining 10-15 minutes since the final act was basically a loud action scene that could partially drown out the worlds worst moviegoer in front of us. After the conclusion, we were exiting the theater when a female assistant manager sarcastically said to me "enjoy your free movie." Congrats on getting your little jab in, but no, I did not enjoy the free movie - primarily because your ineffective staff is content with allowing ridiculous behavior in your auditoriums. Suffice it to say, we will not be back. I've never seen a theater that just blatantly doesn't care about people distracting others from their films. I'm used to theaters where staff literally proactively remove people for being on their phones and talking. Here, you can straight up retaliate against the people who reported you for being a problem in front of management, and it's still okay. Management will just ask the quiet ones to move. 2 stars because the theater itself is relatively nice, and they did at least provide a partial refund (it was short by 10 dollars for some reason). I won't be back and neither will anyone in my party. Big mistake trying to support this place. I can't stand theaters that will not promote an appropriate atmosphere for enjoying a movie. read more

Great place! Advanced ticket purchases available with seat selection. The recliners are comfortable and have rotating tray with cup holder attached to one side of your chair. Lots of concessions including heavy snack food items, slushies, soda, and wine. Downfall is having to pay for parking. They validate but not for usual length of a movie so you pay no matter what. Another regular issue is lack of cleanliness. Theater nor bathrooms are maintained well. I've been greated by a dirty recliner covered in popcorn & grease at least once. Gross! read more

After the remodel, Roxy is the place to be! Reserved seating and working air conditioning is always a huge plus in the summer! Some of the reviews on this theater are hilarious. It's a theater... it's going to be loud, it's going to be messy towards the end of the night... have you all been the a movie theater before? The Roxy is in a great location right downtown Santa Rosa. The remodel has definitely helped a lot! We were going to airport due to the reserved seating and booze before Roxy got the same treatment. I would much rather go to Roxy! More food options around for pre-movie bites or post... depending on time of day. I have always appreciated that they validate parking, even if just for 90 minutes. Still beats paying full price. My biggest complaint is for movie theaters across the board... popcorn costs too much! Otherwise, the Roxy is fantastic. read more

Pretty great movie theatre! The employees were friendly and professional. We messed up on the dates for our show and All though we did so , they fixed It so we can still fit in the next One . Love the recliners. Hearing assistive devices are cheap & didn't work. Other theaters have better devices. I appreciate Catherine's response however if the theater is going to supply hearing assistive devices they should be of good quality. These have cheap foam ear covers that do not fit over the ear. I tried two devices and neither seemed to work. read more

They're lucky I'm giving 1 star. I'm waiting for a bus, and needed to use the restroom. I'm giving the 1 star because of the young woman's attitude. Stadium seating so that's a plus. Sketchy walk back to the parking garage = yuck. The lack of monitoring for the exit where I see people slip in for free makes me wonder what should be done. Movie theater food is pricey everywhere so I don't rate down for that. Staff seem to all have the 'this is SO a first job only" mentality but I've never experienced "rude" so it's fine. All in all, I'm there for the movie and it's in a convenient spot to many of my favorite downtown restaurants. read more

I would give this theater a better rating but I think the location is the worst choice for it, it is right on the other side of the transit mall which is home to all the degenerates of Santa Rosa. If you are looking for a short walk that will remind you just how good you have it, then enjoy the walk down the stair case and up 3rd street as you pass by all sorts of, em, individuals. The theater is fine itself, not as sparkly as it once was but it offers main stream movies at the going rate for a movie these days. The theater has terrible parking that is scary to use at night. The bus station is around the corner and the parking structure smells like urine. There are homeless people and teens hanging out and there's no security. Also, the building itself has an awkward layout. You have to take escalators to reach the theater rooms. I hear they're going to put in new recliners, so we may go back, but only if during the daytime. We prefer the Summerfield, or the Airport Stadium 12. read more

We come here often. The theaters themselves are old but clean and the price is not bad for two people if you go for matinee or on a Family night special. The movies are up-to-date and it's never really overcrowded. My only complaint would be the popcorn which is not real butter. Parking is free if you remember to bring your ticket in to get validated. Neighborhood is right outside of downtown... next to the bus depot- but I've never had any problems with the homeless who tend to hang out there. While the Roxy is definitely no longer in its heyday of the 2000s, it is still a solid theater choice. They play many new releases on high quality screens. In addition to new releases they also have movie series you can catch here. Right now they are having special showings of cult movie classics. The seats are comfortable and reclining (definitely better than a theater where you have to try 5 chairs before you find one that isn't broken). The concessions stand sells Red Vines like all good theaters should. I say the theater is past its prime because it needs a good deep cleaning. The walls look a little dirty, trashcans in the bathrooms are frequently overflowing, popcorn litters the hallways. The upstairs concession stand is generally closed. It would be great to see some love put into this theater to get it back in pristine shape. Exiting the theater, make sure to turn right to go around the building to get to the attached parking garage. Turning left will take you through the bus depot and is likely to result in an experience somewhere on the spectrum between mildly sketchy and downright terrifying. read more

I don't know what it is about this theater that really bugs me, but if I can avoid seeing a movie at this venue, I will at all cost. Is it the scores of renegade kids who run in and out of the theaters in packs like wolves, making as much noise as they possibly can? Is it the size? Two stories of potential noise making kids going in and out? Possibly all of the above. The parking garage is also a drawback- I like the parking at Airport Cinemas. All in all, I can't name one thing that gets my hair in a tangle, I just don't like the way this theater is operated, or the size, or the parking... I will stop at that. read more

So, I am a huge movie buff!!! With my current sitch which is "I'm currently laid off from my 11 year job" ..:I have a little down time to really put my mind into what's right in front of me. I honestly haven't been to the Roxy in years. I had a couple of bad experiences many years back with the location, meaning, outside riff raft where I felt uncomfortable. I see that security had stepped it up in the parking garage, aka....security guards, and cameras. I see that they have free parking which you just basically scan your movie ticket. I prepaid for my luxury seat since they newly remodeled and luxury seating is the only way. I like everything they have done and I see the difference big time! I appreciate he effort that they have put into making this movie theater great!!!!!! read more

reserved 2 a seat in theater 5 second row from the back. booked 5 minutes before the movie started, only 6 tickets sold, all center isle, all down the center. Got there and there were little kids in one of our seets. not about to bother some 8 year old to move, some "ahem" young lady was bothering some people a few isles down, then with no introduction (i thought she was another customer) came up to us and demanded to see my tickets. I told her we would find them, she demanded that we leave the theater to reprint/find tickets...the movie was 5 minutes in at this point. I just stood up and walked out before I said something that my grandma would not be proud of. I looked back up to see my wife in a seat not even close to the seat i booked. My drink i paid 6 dollars for was at the old seat but i decided not to go back up and get it. the way this young lady spoke to me and my wife was unacceptable. Have polite ushers guide people to their seats, or dont have reserved seating, it's that simple. i can only imagine how often this happens. this was my first time back to the roxy since the beginning of the pandemic,we won't be back. nice chairs by the way. read more
