I just have to say that the kids that work the Roxy theater really impress me. They aren't standing around goofing off and really have a flow and work together really great. I was so amazed to see how they were all communicating with each other and polite to each other and guest. I go to the Airport theater sometimes and the kids there are standing around stoned and have to asked me and my BF 5 times what we ordered and clearly don't care about being there lol No shade to airport, who cares. But when I come to the Roxy these kids just get it done! Ill order a pretzel when I go and you have to walk down to the far-right side where the ovens are and somehow there's a kid out of the 14 kids behind the counter and a crowd full of guest and they automatically know it's me that needs a pretzel and I'm just confounded at the communication here lol I have to say I love this theater and have been coming since i was a kid and I wish it had the money to vamp it up a bit. I can't even remember the last time the upstairs concession stand was in working order and I would love to see some more life there. I also adore the retro movie Thursday nights they have and play old movies. the energy is so fun, and it always feels like you're going to a sleepover party lol Give this theater your money! read more

Most comfortable cinema ever...I love this new style and hope COVID doesn't kill the cinemas..

We watched Aladdin 5/29 at 9:10 p.m. A friend and I shared a combo with popcorn and two sodas, plus nachos with cheese and we added jalapenos. We made our purchases at the bottom stand. When the movie ended both of our stomachs were hurting and more than 12 hours later we are still feeling ill. We suspect the cheese but most likely the jalapenos are to blame. For sanitary purposes, the jalapenos should be kept behind the counter, and given to customers upon request. I question weather the dish is cleaned out regularly and can imagine plenty of opportunities for contamination. We know we got sick from the food we consumed at the theater because this is the only meal we shared together and we have similar symptoms. read more

It's a nice Movie theater, good drinks and snacks but the workers are teenagers and very disrespectful, rude, and sassy

The theater is cool itself. The new seats are alright sometime the tray sticks and is hard to move. The movies are dope still the candy prices are ridiculous. But the customer service is what gets me. These little kids have the worst attitude and totally show it. Cant even greet me with a smile when I order a drink. And they're expensive ass popcorn. I come here often but I've noticed these damn kids are getting worse and most times I bite my tongue but others I'll say hey smile a bit. But they seem to get upset. Also when you get a kids tray they usually give you 2 candies these dudes gave my kid one and gave me attitude when I asked for the 2nd one that usually come with it. Now idk if it comes with it but the kids usually give my kid 2. Not today. I hope the La Llorona gets they ass. read more

If I could give no stars I would. But I have to at least add one cause this was a childhood theater of mine. For the first time in over 5 years my dad and I were lucky enough to get my mom out of the house and watch the movie Love & Thor as a family like we use to do when I was a kid. We chose a earlier movie cause my parents are old and I have work, when we arrived we decided to get some popcorn and some water, (mind you a bunch of kids from high school work here) a young girl helped us and checked us out for our popcorn and drinks, while doing so she was told to go IMMEDIATELY on her break after helping us, after she passed over the last drink and I proceeded to ask for more assistance to get more things she quickly walked off and ignored me after that my parents and I stood there for another 7 mins waiting for one of the 3 workers behind the snack bar to proceed to helping us, all ignored us till I flagged down a guy and finally got help, after that my parents had a hard time finding the right theater. We literally went to the wrong number theater and walked in on two workers cleaning it, when we asked where the right one was they proceeded to kinda just laugh at us like we are a joke kinda haha they are old and slow. My mom walks very slow and uses a cane due to lack of balance. So it's almost like they thought her DISABILTY was something to laugh about. Then after our movie ended the same two kids that are part of the clean up came in and LAUGHED some more cause my mom was having a hard time walking out and they had to stand there holding the door open with their trash bin and trash grabbers. We also were one of the only people in there and the last to come out. This was a Thursday 21st for the movie love and Thor at 2:50pm. Unreal that this is what a family has to deal with in a family function, esp one that doesn't get together very often. Hands down one of the worst experiences and first worst experiences I've ever had at this theater my entire life. Respect your elders. read more

Roxy Stadium 14 deserves more than 5 stars and better reviews! People with negative experiences think writing a hateful reviews and calling the employees names will make the place look bad when honestly, it just makes the person leaving a hateful and negative review look like an awful human being. So you didn't like how some of the employees handled things. Boohoo. They work a minimum wage job in downtown Santa Rosa, I want to see you try woking by the transit. Don't let how one experience with one employee define a movie theater. Roxy Stadium 14 has lots of employees. Just because one employee makes a mistake or doesn't handle a situation as best as they could does not mean all Roxy employees are like that. As far as the place being cleaned...try to cut them some slack, they can't be everywhere at once and their main priority is to get those theaters you're sitting in for two hours clean as fast as possible. Name one place that keeps their bathrooms cleaned all the time that has hundreds of customers a day!? Besides Disneyland!! Concessions gets busy so if you complain about the popcorn everywhere then I hope you're late to your movie and your popcorn gets cold because they are trying to serve you as fast as they can and sometimes that means popcorn is going to be on the floor behind concessions. Regarding the comments about what they read online and in the paper. Most of time the paper gets things wrong and it's not the Roxy's fault when they do, so, if you leave a negative review about that, then your review is irrelevant and you just wasted your time leaving a poor review. If you read information online make sure you are on the Roxy's webpage... Fandango, Movie Tickets, Google, etc sometimes get the information wrong, and once again that is not the Roxy's fault! It should only be the Roxy's fault if you got the information from their webpage, and their webpage only!! In conclusion, Roxy Stadium 14 is way better than Airport, 3rd Street Cinemas, and Reading Cinemas. If you have a bad experience I genuinely feel bad for you because you just have some bad luck. MOST of their employees are some of the nicest people I've ever encountered. The majority of their management are some of the best people! They really are just trying their best and that's really all they can do. I definitely recommend Roxy Stadium 14 for all moviegoers!! read more

The stadium seating, good sound, and decent screens at the Roxy make for good movie watching. Why only two stars? The endless ads you have to endure (if you arrive early to get a good seat) are brutal! In addition to the advertisements in the theater, the dirty bathrooms are inexcusable. The toilet seats looked like they hadn't seen a good wiping in months. Disgusting! We were surprised to see so few people on the opening night of American Hustle. I never thought I'd miss those Army or Mountain Dew commercials that they play before movies at the Sony Metreon, but sit through enough 'Powerpoint' style ads for Sensei Steve's Kung-Fu Dojo, Substance Abuse Centers, and Small Claims Law Firms, and you will be begging to hear about being Army Strong or Snapping it to a Slim Jim. At least those, commercials have some motion graphics and production value and maybe a smash cut or an over the shoulder shot... I'd rather see a Marine fight a CGI Dragon any day of the week then sit through another auto detailing slide show. uh, anyhoo....they show movies here and the popcorn is kinda stale. The Roxy is a huge movie theatre placed in downtown Santa Rosa near all the restaurants and activities. I find myself here pretty often even though it isn't my favorite movie theatre. The movie theatre has extremely expensive candies and popcorn, much higher than regular prices inside theaters. I miss the old cafe that was here where I could get better priced goodies. I always used to get a huge ice cream cone and eat that inside. I am not sure what happened to the cafe but it has been closed for quite sometime now. I also find the 16 year olds who all work here to be pretty rude. (i.e talking to their coworkers while ringing you up about their date to homecoming....c'mon it can wait, that is just basic customer service...) On the plus side the chairs here are very comfy and they have movies for long periods of time. read more

I go here all the time, and almost every time I do there's a nice young man with tattoos at the door. He's always in such a good mood and so polite and just sets it up for a great experience. The place looks a bit understaffed on the weekends which could account for some of the mess. The only reason I took away a star is because the kid-combos used to have fruit snacks or gummy bears and now it's just m&ms, which makes me sad. Definitely see myself going here again. read more

This is the theater that we normally go to in Santa Rosa. Pros: -Attached parking garage (usually free whenever we've been there). -It's a big theater, so there are lots of show-times, and they show a lot of different movies. -Comfortable, usually not too crowded. -Lines to buy tickets usually move pretty fast. -Downtown, so a fun location. Easy to grab food nearby and walk over, etc. -Good pop-corn. They add butter for you if you want. Also, they give you a separate box if you ask, so that you can share your popcorn. Some theaters I've been to won't do that. Cons: -No concessions on the top floor, even though there is an area for it. So if you want to run out during a movie to get a drink refill, you have to go down two flights of stairs/escalators, to get to concessions. (If you're watching on the top level, that is!) -Not the cleanest...older looking carpet, dim lighting, etc. -I wish they had more options for popcorn seasonings. (This isn't a huge deal though! Just personal preference.) read more

A great movie experience. We were able to purchase beer and wine plus the typical movie grub. The chairs are comfortable recliners. There is an attached table and cup holder. The people were friendly. It was mostly clean. My only complaint was that the hand rails were sticky and the beer selection didn't offer anything I like. We will be back. read more

Seems great compaired to other local theaters. Even though you get raked over the coals for a $10 ticket and crazy food prices. I get it, the food is where the theater makes all of IT'S money, honestly though, With the quality of door monitoring you can just sneek anything in that you want. Trust me, I know, I used to work at the sister theater the Roxy on the Square or whatever they are calling it now on 3rd Street. At least the actual theaters are kept clean and well air conditioned. Now adays though (as with alot of people I am assuming) we are more of the " I'll wait for it to come out on Netflix" crowd. Still nice to go watch something on a hot summer night to escape the heat. The most comfortable seats I have been in, including the Bay Area. The seats even foldout like a Lazy Boy. The stadium seating allows perfect viewing without obstruction. I highly recommend seeing any movie here. read more

I think I'm being a bit generous, but this place IS a multiplex. People going to multiplexes to watch a flick pretty much know what they can expect and you'll find it all to be true here: -families, teens, kids, couples, and theater-hoppers -a handful of big-box movies to choose from -stadium seating with cup holders -ample sound -pre-movie ads and trivia -your standard movie snacks at the various concession stands The downtown location makes it a great meeting spot for those with cars (parking garage in the back) and those without (bus station right next door). The character of this place can best be described as attempting to appeal to the broadest audience as possible. If you're a bit discerning about the type of films you want to see and who you want to see them with, you'll probably find that elsewhere. read more

I like the place. Could it use a cleaning? - starting to look that way. The only real issue is this... GET THAT UNION HOTEL AD OFF THE SCREEN! It's just big. If I am looking to watch an epic on the giant screen, this is the place. Other than that... The sound bleeds from theater to theater which can be hilarious if you're watching a crap-romantic-comedy and there's an action flick next door. You'll be in a tender moment, waiting for all the women to start sobbing when all of a sudden there's an echo of gunfire and car crashes. It kind of breaks the mood. The popcorn is okay, but let's talk about beverages. THEY SERVE PEPSI. What's that about? Ever go to a bar and order a Jack & Coke, and they tell you they have Pepsi? Then you freak out and make everyone you are with leave? Okay. Maybe you haven't. Maybe you have. But it's rare. Why? You don't mix booze with sub-par soda. Seven & Sprite? I don't think so. I feel this principle should also apply to popcorn and the movies. They deserve better. Pepsi is simply unacceptable, and will cost the Roxy a star. They have a "cafe" type place in the building, but frankly, I don't want to be anywhere near a movie theater before or after my film unless I'm in Europe. As such, I haven't tried the coffee-drinks, ice cream, or... whatever the hell else they have over in that corner. The Rialto has almost all I need, but for the little else... Bought two tickets on Fandango. They took my money but didn't send the tickets barcodes. I went to Roxy, explained the case, showed that Fandango had taken my money. Manager was rude. I had to stand up to him. He gave me 2 crappy seats very near to the screen. I went and sat with my son and the good seats, the ones I had paid for, he told me were sold now. Hands down one of my favorite movie theaters in town! Great downtown location, they even serve wine and beer at the upstairs concession bar. They seats are a comfortable leather and have the option to recline, tray and cupholder included. I recommend getting the large popcorn to share (or not) with a large soft drink to get free refills! read more

Sound is always up way to high. I've asked to have it turned down and been laughed at complete with eye roll by the girl taking tickets. PG movies don't need R level sound. I do believe the sound is often raised to cover other Louder films. Super not cool. read more

I've never liked this place, even when it first opened. I know it was going for that retro style but it looks like the kinda retro style that needs to be renovated. Roxy shows your typical mainstream, first run, big budget, Hollywood blockbusters. And it's gross. The theaters smell funny with a lot of sticky patches. I don't want to even know what the seats look like in full light, but they are comfy, stadium seating and all that. Popcorn is kinda stale. Have to deal with the usual downtown Santa Rosa hoodlums. I do, however, LOVE $5 Tuesdays. That is fabulous. $5 movies, all day. read more

Come here often and have had nothing but friendly service from the box office, to the ticket taker and the refreshment stand workers. I have now been to this theater twice this year. (that's a lot of movies for moi) and both times I was pretty happy with it. Lots of people working so the line to get tickets (both movies were packed) was managable. Lots of staff at snack bar (good) popcorn was fresh (also good!) and the theater was clean, well lit areas for walking and the sound system good. I am a fan. If only I liked movies more - I'd come more often. read more

The Roxy has always been one of my favorite theaters due the downtown location, number of screens, and special events/film festivals. It was due for an update/renovation though, and now it has one, complete with fancy reclining seats and beer! I'd like to see some of the carpets replaced and the addition of an imax screen, but overall, I am very happy to have the Roxy in my city. read more

I understand that theaters get busy especially in a prime location as this one but the staff from what i saw sits around a lot. I came out of watching the Greatest Showman last night to tell the manager that we were having some trouble with teenagers talking and being on their cellphones the entire time....after about 10 minutes he walked in and just stared at the top row without coming up and saying anything to them. Not once before that did anyone vome in to do any kind of theater checks. After our theater got out we collected the trash items we had and searched the floor for a trash can that wasn't overflowing to throw ours away. I would never spend any money going to this theater again after the horrible experience there last night. You'd think a theater that had a recent stabbing at it would ensure their customers safety by doing theater checks! read more

The theater is big and has a lot of theaters, so there's lots of choices. I usually aim for movies that aren't brand new and hugely popular so I don't have to sit next to strangers, have them kick my chair, or prevent me from putting up my feet. There is usually enough space in the theater for me to do this. The chairs and theaters are generally clean. Some of the girls who work there are cute. The negatives are just like any movie theater. The food is too expensive. The bathrooms are nasty since so many people go in and out of them frequently. read more

****3.5 Stars**** I like this location. I wouldn't watch the latest Marvel or Star Wars movie here on opening weekend, but if I'm in town wanting to catch a movie after shopping at the mall I'm in! Despite the somewhat congested area, there is a convenient parking structure right next to the theater. I notice there are a lot of high school kids that roam around these parts. Occasionally I'll see one up to some mischief. I saw one trying to argue with an employee in the front to get in for a 3D showing even though he only paid for 2D. I do feel slightly annoyed and a little bad for the people who work here. The lobby isn't great, but honestly how much time do people spend in the lobby of a movie theater that they should care? Not a big deal. I think their theater rooms are good enough for an enjoyable viewing experience and I will drop by if I'm in the area looking to watch a movie. read more

I grew up in sonoma county so Ive been to most of the theaters. Out of all the theaters these people actually know how to play a movie. Other theaters cant seem to line the film up or play the audio right. They also seem to be able to control the "young adults' in this theater. The only problem, The staff doesn't want to be there! The girl taking my ticket last week decided her texting was more important so I had to wait! Why are they allowed phones on the floor!!?? At the concession stand they acted like I was making their life miserable by asking for something to drink! I work two jobs to survive! We went to a 10 pm showing and the place was trashed. The carpet is dirty and so are the bathrooms. The snack bar is candy and frozen quick bake pizzas etc. I ordered a pretzel that was doughy on the inside and burnt on the ouside. The chairs recline nicely but I'd be suprised if they ever get wiped down. They validated our parking but we still ended up paying because they only validate for 90 minutes. Kinda like the mall across the street that I don't go to. They could give me a free pass for life and I still wouldn't go there. read more

Theater here smells and stinks sometimes. Nothing like walking out of the parking garage and having to pass through homeless people and druggies who stink like no other. Only Theatre 12/13 is worth attending (the big auditorium). all the other rooms suck and are really small. I go out of my way just to drive to Reading Theatres 16 to avoid this location, if possible. read more

I have never had any problem here for the majority of my life in which I have been coming here. Most of the theater rooms are decent sized (remember it's a local theater in a minor city) but there are a couple that are bigger which is great for new movie releases. -Popcorn sizes are amazing and close in price. A little too buttery even without butter being added to it. -Back and forth when it comes to clean theater rooms. -Workers are always a joy and seem to enjoy working there. read more
