The stitching is good but the customer service could be wayyy better. I gave him a month to get my little's jacket done. I brought my jacket in, and I filled out this form telling him exactly what to put and where on the jacket. He gave me an ETA of 3 weeks and I left it at that. When I called him to check up on the jacket a couple days after the ETA he gave me, he said that it wasn't done yet, and that it would be done a week later. When I went back to check up on the jacket, it was done, but it was messed up. He accidentally stitched the sleeves on the wrong side, and then proceeded to rip the stitching off before fixing it. I personally didn't care which side the stitching was on for the sleeves, so I wish that he called or something to tell me about it before ripping it off. I feel like he rushed on just getting the stitches done and didn't really pay close attention to it. My jacket wasn't even a regular American Apparel jacket, it was a tech fleece jacket so you can see exactly where the stitches were when they were ripped out. He did feel bad about it so he only charged $10 for the messed up stitching and offered to pay for the jacket if I brought in a new jacket that was exactly the same for another stitching. Except that they don't have that jacket anymore. I waited for months to see if the jacket would be back in stock, but it never came back. It sucks because I really wanted to use that jacket. I just got another somewhat similar jacket instead that was the same price as the old one. He agreed to stitch it and pay for the jacket since they didn't have my old jacket anymore. I took the new jacket in and he gave me an ETA of 3 weeks. Since it was the end of summer I figured that he wouldn't really be as busy as the end of the semester. 3 weeks came, and he said it would be done that Wednesday. We called on Wednesday, and he said that it wasn't done yet, and that it would be on Friday. When Friday came, we called again and he told us that it would be done the next day, on Saturday. We then told him that we would be coming in on Saturday then to pick it up. We tried calling him multiple times on Saturday to make sure that the letters were done but he never picked up. The place was on the way to where we were going to go later, so we stopped by anyway. The garage door wasn't even open. We went to get the letters the next Friday, but then he said that the jacket STILL WASN'T DONE. We told him that he told us that it would be done the previous Saturday, and asked him how it still wasn't done. He then apologized and then told us that it would be done by the end of the day, and we finally managed to pick it up then. I just took a look at the second set of letters and while it looks fine to others, I noticed that he didn't follow the instructions AGAIN. I wrote that I wanted fitted letters; he did them in full size so now they cover half the pocket. At least he didn't rip them out this time. I probably gave more stars than I probably should have, only because he offered to pay for the second jacket and gave a discount on the first stitching. He just subtracted the cost of the second jacket from the cost of the stitching so that I would only have to pay for one of the jackets and the stitching, so I basically got 2 letter jackets for the price of one. The stitching looks better than other places I've gone to, but I'm still hesitant about coming back here, because i don't know if I want to risk messing up the jacket or to risk not getting them done in time. If you want to get letters done here, give him 6 months to finish, because that's pretty much how long it took for mine. read more

He tries to make sure to finish it by your given deadline; if he does not, he always keeps you updated. I was seriously allured to this store because I heard they have a cute pug and Dorie was so worth the drive. I've been to many greek stores around the area Rochies is one of my favorites because the quality is excellent but its just too far so I decided to try this place. They were really nice but for some reason I was expecting an actual Greek store, which this is not. Its just embroidery. The options for fabrics and colors are really basic so don't expect anything too fancy. They returned my stuff within 2 weeks, which was nice. However the quality and the price just didn't fit well. It was $25 for three greek letters and I brought my own shirt. When I got the finish product there were some white specs on the letters where the fabric didn't completely cover. For the price I paid I expected it to be Roochie's quality. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. I would recommend this place if you just want a quick, local embroidery store. The store is hidden in a plaza right where Palm and Mission intersect and you'll be amazed when you walk in and see the rows and rows of machines stitching embroidery onto shirts, caps, everything!! De is the owner and he does a great job of embroidery! He also has an adorable little pug =) Very nice guy to work with and he'll be accommodating of your schedule (within reasonable request). It was only $5 to get a name embroidered on a white coat! And $10 if you want to embroider the title/position as well. (i.e. First name Last name, Pharm.D.) I STRONGLY recommend this place to anyone who'll need anything embroidered and personalized. So I recently made it into Pharmacy school,( Yay ME! :D) and i wanted to get my professor a gift as a thank you for his Letter of Reference. I came up with a brilliant idea to get him a White Lab Coat with his name embroidered on it. So I checked on Yelp and found ROY G BIV. I was first intrigued by its clever name, a mnemonic device used for the colors of the visible spectrum/Rainbow) So I decided to give it a try since it was near my house. I brought the white coat in and he was able to get it done within a few hours,even with his other work piled on him. Now that's good Service! Not only does He do Sorority and Fraternity Sweaters for UCLA, UCI, CSULA, USC, and other universities, It does the customized lab coats for Medical and Pharmacy schools also, as well as other large companies. No longer will I have to drive in 1.5 hrs of rush hour traffic to Keda in Torrance. Thank heavens, there is a good quality, friendly embroidery business right in the middle of the San Gabriel Valley. Their hours are somewhat unpredictable, but as long as you give them a call beforehand, you can usually figure out a good time to drop by. The company is owned by a nice Asian couple, and they're very accommodating. Their turnaround time is about 2 weeks, and they make their sweater orders to American Apparel at the end of each week. They finished my sweater a few days later than I expected; I still got it in time for my banquet, but it was definitely not convenient with my tight schedule that week. The stitching is decent quality, not quite as good as Keda's, but I'll have to see how well it holds with time. Good prices though! read more

I seriously cannot thank Yelp enough for helping me find this place. For the past 3 years I drove all the way to Torrence to get what I needed done, but this year I did not have the time to go there during business hours due to work and school. When I came across this place on Yelp I was excited to see not only was it close by but it had amazing reviews. Pros: The owner is super nice and he tries really hard to help you out as much as he can. He also gives you a pretty good discount if you ask nicely and bring him a lot of the same things ( I bought him 18 pieces and he made it a lot cheaper than Keda). The quality of the embroidery is not bad and the letters (the patches) are not bad either with plenty of color choices (or you can bring your own). His dog is super adorable as well! Cons: The ONLY issue I would have with this place is that he doesn't always deliver items when he promies them... I know I bought him 18 pieces to do but I gave them to him 3 weeks before I needed them (and thank god I did) because he continually pushed back the day it would be finished until I had no choice but to rush him and finally got my pieces ONE day before I needed them. Even with the time issue I would still highly recommend this place both for the price and the convenience of the location! read more

Lee always does a solid job for all my embroidery and lettering needs! I've come here multiple times for letters for my littles, and he always finishes them within 2 weeks. He will also call you when they're ready! It's sort of a hard spot to find, for it's actually on the side of the building located on Palm. You can only pay with cash or check, but you choose to pay before or after you receive the finished product, or put down a deposit. He also had a large selection of colors and fabrics to choose from. I don't think I'd ever come back, unless it was my last resort. First off, I came here because I friend recommended it, the yelp reviews were good, and it's nearby. He promised two jackets with letters, and stitching on the sleeve within 2 weeks. I got them in 4 weeks. When I called in during the 2 weeks mark, when he said they'd be done, he decided just not to answer his phone. And when he did, he said he had a death in the family or something along those lines, which I understood and respected so I waited another week. I called that weekend, and again he'd ignore the calls. Apparently he celebrated Veteran's day and took a 4 day weekend. Promised I could get them on Sunday of the following weekend. Come Sunday, I called to make sure he was in, said I could go after his lunch, which was 1:00PM. Drove all the way there, to only see that it's closed. I called him again, and again he ignored my calls. Sat in my car for a good 15 to 20 minutes thinking maybe he's just still at lunch. Then I call again, and his wife answers pretty much yelling at me, telling me it's his day off when he was the one who said it was alright for me to come. Later on, he calls me back to tell me I could get them at 5:00PM. Even though I drove all the way home already, I just wanted my letters at this point. Got there at 4:35, luckily he was there and I got my letters. And when I got there, they were sitting out on the machines like they've just gotten done that day. Didn't realized until I got home that he also screwed them up because for the sleeve stitching, I wanted them on opposite arms. He puts them on the same side. I then understood why when he was showing me he put one of the jackets the other way, so that the stitching on the arm looked like they were opposite sides. I do not, and will not ever recommend this place to anyone. I would've gone back to get the stitching fixed, but honestly I'm tired of dealing with him since he's been so unreliable. This was my first, and last time working with Roy G Biv Embroidery. -1 star for late -1 star for the mistake -1 star for the rude customer service -1 dishonesty I rated +1 star because the price and quality was good. I know it's graduation season so embroidery places get packed. However, I chose Roy G Biv because when I called in they said that they would have my stole finished by Sunday. I brought it in on Thursday, I didn't receive any call on Sunday or on Monday. so I went in today, Tuesday. They told me that it wouldn't be ready until this afternoon.... If they would've been more upfront about the expected date or called to let me know that there was a delay, I wouldn't be this upset. I picked Roy G Biv because they confirmed that it would be ready in 2 days... This is totally unprofessional. read more

I've been meaning to write a review for De's Roy G Biv for the past 3-4 years, but never got around to it. I found this place after googling embroidery businesses in the 626 because I did not want to drive out to Torrance. I had an idea in my head and needed to solidify them with suggestions from a professional. Back then this place didn't have any yelp reviews yet, so I called in and to see what this business could help me with. De was amazing! He has a catalog of clothes from a very well-known DTLA based company and said he could get me whatever I wanted from it and embroider it for a very affordable price. I ended up getting the final product within 2 weeks. That was almost 4 years ago. I've referred many people to him since then whom have been satisfied with his work and prices. I've also come back to him throughout the years to get more stuff embroidered..... and most recently, my white coat. Like what some of the other yelp reviewers have said, you SHOULD call before going in to make sure De's there because he has to drop off orders, buy supplies, etc. Once in a while, he may take a little longer than quoted to get the product back because of a high influx of orders... but I think this is true of any business. One time though, I forgot to pick up my order on the date we agreed on because I was so busy, and he called me to remind me! From what I've seen whenever I've walked in there, he's also the man embroidering a bunch of jackets for the panhellenic community at an established university. I have been and will definitely be coming back to this place again and again for the affordability, convenience, and customer service. read more

I took him a design on a friday and he said it would be done on the following friday I showed up on the day it was supposed to be done and he said "sorry i didn't have time, come next Wednesday it will be done." I then called him on Wednesday over week later. He then said" I had too much work but for sure next monday it will be done." 3 weeks after and no design had been made. I was glad that someone wrote a review for this company. I called a few places and compared quotes. Roy G Biv Embroidery was by far the least expensive for embroidery. Their one time set up fee was one of the lowest and each logo embroidery was by far the cheapest compared to others. I met the owner, De, and I gave him four polo shirts to embroider. He had them finished the next day as promised. He was friendly and gave some helpful tips. I recommend to call De last after you get all your quotes. I will definitely go back for future embroidery. He also told me that he will have digital printing service on t-shirts sometime next year. read more
