this spot is hard to find and hard to find parking for. It's in a little tucked away storefront but once you're there, you've found a tailor for life! Mr Garcia is so talented, so nice and so fast! First time I came in, needed pants hemmed for a wedding. He further done overnight. Second time, I needed an heirloom coat tailored. He made me look like a movie star in this thing. I have gone several times for pant hems, coat sleeves and even my wife's dresses have all been expertly and wonderfully worked on here. Most recently my mom needed a dress altered for a wedding out of town. She had like 36 hrs before her plane left and Mr Garcia had the dress ready overnight and looking absolutely amazing. Found this place bc it was close by the house and the reviews felt sincere. I had a traditional Vietnamese Ao Dai (long dress) that was too tight. I bought it off of Etsy at an amazing deal. I saved money regardless even with the alteration. Before getting it done at Garcia's Alterations, I asked around and some of these places were charging ridiculous prices. Some places just refused bc upsizing required more fabric/ design work. Mr. Rodolfo suggested taking some fabric at the bottom of the dress and I thought it was a genius idea. Instead of avoiding the problem, he gave me a SOLUTION. Luckily I visited a month in advance bc he was very busy. His work came out beautifully done and the dress fit like a glove on our special day. Wowwww. This guy is the best. I didn't actually get work done by him but will definitely go to him next time I need something. I brought in a skirt for him to put a hook on so that the zipper would stop falling down when I wear it (yep I am a victim to the COVID fifteen weight gain). He ended up showing me that I need to put the zipper down and that locks it into place. Dang. He just taught me something new and it blew my mind bc I have had this issue a few times before too and always got a hook for it. He's honest and kind! It's kinda confusing to find but take a look at my pictures. The entrance is on Alhambra. Find street parking around first. Not too hard to find parking but it's not plentiful. Rodolfo, the owner was super nice and did a great job is fixing all my dresses. I loved that he refused to alter one as it would have spoiled the look of the dress. Mr. Garcia is a great tailor. His prices are so reasonable. He's very accomadating as far as deadlines in case you need something ready for a special trip or event. I've taken many designer dresses, pants, blouses and he has the midas touch my Trina Turk items don't even appear to have been altered. I have been coming here for a couple years now and all I can say is that Rodolfo is a solid owner who does fantastic alterations at an unbeatable price. I have had several suits, suit pants, and blazers tailored here for half of what I would have had to pay elsewhere. Plus, the quality of tailoring is just as good as any fancy shop, as I have never had a complaint. On top of that, Rodolfo is very flexible with when he can get a job done. One time, I needed a quick turnaround and got to his shop at 9am...and was told to pick up the tailored jacket at 6pm the same day. The blazer was perfectly tailored and he didn't even ask for extra. An old adage goes "Price, speed, quality - pick two." Well, with Garcia's alterations, you're fortunate enough to get all three. One guy working there, I'm assuming he's the owner. Super nice and simple guy, I showed him what I needed and he gave me such a short turn around time. Cash only. Nice hard working owner that is always busy because he is affordable and skilled at what he does. Cost me $6 for jean alterations while fashion cleaners will charge you $20 +. It's not a fancy location at all but if you want something done right and cheap Mr.Garcia is a good bet. His English is not great so be prepared to practice your Spanish. You can't easily see it from the street since it is located along the side of a printing business. Just pull in next to the building and then when you are done you can pull out and exit down the little alleyway. Save money and support a local amigo. read more

Went to check it out today because my mom needed her dress adjusted. It's in the back of the printing store. Walked in a really nice older man greets you. I think he's Mr. Garcia. The bad only thing was he seems to charge $25 per alteration. My moms estimated cost was $50, which was a lot. Just wish it was cheaper. read more
