The beef was very tender and the bread was light and airy, not heavy or dense. I'm not usually into peppers but these peppers ate made in house by the shop owner and were outstanding. We also had the French fries, which were also excellent. They were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with just the right amount of salt. The shop is not very large and has about a half dozen tables or so for eating in. Each table sits about 4 people. The store is well lit and very clean. There are clean restrooms for your convenience. We enjoyed the food so much, we went back a week later. I had the fried chicken sandwich. The chicken was crispy, moist and tender. The owner is proud of his business and he should be. He told us he's been in business almost forty years It appears that he has a loyal following with the local residents. Many of the customers addressed him by his name. We will definitely be going back. We highly recommend this sandwich shop.

While waiting, I noticed that the two individuals handling the food were rock stars. They got orders out very quickly and efficiently, and I had my muffin in less than five minutes. I also noticed the number of other patrons waiting for long periods of time. People who placed orders after I did received their coffee drinks, so I was confused. When my name was finally called, I noticed that three matcha drinks were ready at the same time. Don't get me wrong, I completely understand the barista making the numerous matcha orders at the same time, but the 25-minute wait seemed quite excessive. There was a steady stream of customers, so it was busy, but not insanely busy. Again, I enjoyed everything about River Bottom Roasters except for the long wait for drinks.

The coating was overly-hard. The bean and rice burrito was also meh. The dull rice seemed too chewy, either overdone or cooked until it was too dry. And there were only a small amount of black beans, and no added veggies, so there was little flavor. Overall, we were disappointed in the Big Papi's location in Hagerstown. For over $35, we only liked $8 of the food. What was good, was very good. Maybe they were just having a bad evening. We might try Big Papi's again, but probably not this location.
