    Fresh Fixing Station

Fantastic experience!! Great customer service upon entry, clean dining room, fresh table flowers, fresh fixings, clean condiment area, clean beverage area, plenty of seating. And then there was the food. Oohh My Gawd, we ordered a 2 Piece White and a 2 Piece Dark. Both Meals, salad, Fries and biscuits extremely fresh!! Best Roy Rogers I've ever visited. They also make Milkshakes from scratch!! Hubby ordered a Chocolate Milkshake. It was so good, he guzzled it down before I could get a picture. Trust me Yelpers, it was the business!! I definitely look forward to visiting this location again !!

While traveling from PA to VA, I stopped in Hagerstown for gas and came across this huge shopping area which had a Roy Rogers.  Not sure if you know, but if you eve find a Roy's, you MUST STOP IN as they have some of the BEST fast food.  They definitely have the BEST roast beef sandwich, which is made from real roast beef, not compressed pieces of beef. This place was not only very clean (restroom included), but they had a lobby hostess walking around to make sure everyone had what they needed and all items we filled.  The Fixins' Bar was beautifully stocked with amazingly clean and fresh veggies!  Service was very quick and with a smile.  The roast beef I got was outstanding and was prepared with great attention... Many times at a fast food joint, the crown and heel of a burger/sandwich aren't aligned properly and there's stuff hanging out of it, etc... Not here, this was PERFECT! The staff here clearly takes pride in their restaurant and rightly so, it's beautiful!  And they turn out an excellent product!  Lastly, they were packed at lunch time, something I'm always happy to see at a Roys, especially since there are very few of them left in the US and most are in this area now. PLEASE GIVE THIS PLACE A TRY when in the area... Hopefully you enjoy it as much as I did!

I can't remember the last time I went to a Roy Rogers. They just don't have them where I am and that's a shame. The "fixings bar" is the business, for sure. I got a regular roast beef sandwich and loaded it up. Horseradish sauce, sure. But I also added four nice slices of tomato, lettuce and red onion. A few pickles on the side. Awwwww, yeah! Fries were nothing special and the soda fountain was tidy but didn't have anything I really wanted to drink. It's that fixings bar, for sure!

Mediocre service all around, I wasn't expecting much and they still managed to let me down.

After spending an afternoon at the discovery Museum, a few blocks away, we popped in for lunch…read more It's a quaint little corner store, right next to the Maryland theater. The venue can be overwhelming, with lots of choices. One section of the menu was dedicated to hotdogs, one section is dedicated to non-hotdog entrées, and also Appetizers, desserts, and drinks. The dogs here are amazing! I loved the Chicago dog, but when I had my a bite of the Big Mac dog I wished I got that one too. Then we had the pastrami dog making it a three dog night. The fries are also especially delicious because they are crunchy and battered. My little one had a kids meal that came with fries and he was forced to share. With any hotdog, you get your choice of beef,/chicken, or veggie. We went beef all the way, and it was a great choice. The dogs are split and grilled on a flat top, and maintain all of their juicy goodness. And the toppings just enhanced everything. If you're a hotdog purist, ketchup and relish or mustard and onions would also make for perfect dogs. The staff was friendly and super accommodating to a feral toddler. For three hotdogs, a kids meal, I need rings, and drinks, the $40 price felt like a bargain. Great quality and value.

Ok so we went there on Saturday over the past weekend. It was about 5:30. I got a Chicago dog,…read morewhich was excellent, the all beef. Husband got the foot long coney dog and my son got a sausage with some kind of sauce on it. I eat about 2 hot dogs a year so when I say it was delicious, I mean it. Now the bad. My 4 year old grandson got grilled cheese. It took forever for the food to come out. Like forever forever. He ate like nothing bc he drank his whole drink while we were waiting as we had been at the park for a couple of hours beforehand. I know, not unusual for a little guy. That's not the real problem. I got a side of onion rings and it was almost $5 for like 6 onion rings. Ketchup in little packets... not cost efficient and annoying for us. Had to track down waitress to get husband a second beer and me a first. There was no air conditioning and it was so hot in there!! AND THE WORST THING OF ALL... WHEN THE BILL CAME THERE WAS A 20% INCLUDED GRATUITY FOR "LARGE PARTY", which was not discussed. First of all, it was 4 ppl. That is not a large party. Second of all, this was not mentioned by staff. I see this sometimes with a group of 8 or more and it is usually noted in a menu somewhere or mentioned. But 4 people is not a large party. My husband and I both worked in the restsurant industry in our younger years. We get it, servers need to be taken care of, but come on. BEWARE. I would have gone back for that hot dog even with the sloooowww service and just not gotten a side, but that automatic gratuity thing is ridiculous. Customer lost.

It's quite rare to see a sit-down Puerto Rican spot around here (I've mostly only had food truck…read moreversions across the country). I'm happy to have found Sofrito! The place is nicely decorated and spotless, and the staff were friendly throughout. While I don't claim to be an expert in Puerto Rican food, overall the flavors were excellent. We started with the empanadillas, which were crispy and hot. The canoas were also delicious. The plantains were perfectly ripe and sweet, and the meat filling was flavorful and provided a nice savory balance. For entrees, we all went with combo plates. Each comes with pickled onions and a small side salad (kind of like a pico de gallo), plus your choice of rice, like white rice, tostones, maduros, or seasoned rice like arroz mamposteao or arroz con gandules. The pollo was moist with a really nice aromatic seasoning on top. The pernil asado was tender with crispy skin. The bistec encebollado was my favorite. The beef was very tender, tangy from the vinegar marinade (it actually reminded me a bit of Filipino adobo), and full of flavor. Both seasoned rice options were yummy, though we all slightly preferred the arroz mamposteao as it was a bit more flavorful. We finished with flan de queso, which tasted fresh and wasn't overly sweet. Street parking was easy even on a Saturday evening. I'd go there all the time if I lived nearby!

There was parking right out front. Beautiful interior. Top notch service. The gentleman who served us helped me decide on which Mofongo to try. I don't think anything could have hit the spot better. We thoroughly enjoyed every dish and only wish we would have saved room for dessert.
