The drain drips inside the crawl space which could cause a lot of problems on the foundation, damage on the house.
    J M O.

I bought a new HVAC system this past July 2026. The master bedroom's temperature is not the same as the rest of the house, the room does not cool down. I bought a 3-ton Carrier new HVAC system and it should cool the whole house! The whole house is small with less than 1000 sq ft floor area! Also the drain was not properly installed, the water drips inside the crawlspace, which will damage my foundation and cause a lot of problems later. I had the foundation inspected recently and the inspector took a picture of the drain pointing out the issue that it could cause a lot of problems if not fixed!!! When the installation was done last July, the technician did not go in the crawlspace nor the attic. I mentioned to them about the master bedroom not cooling or heating as the rest of the house. The installer should have checked the duct system in the attic to see if there is a tear or hole which is an easy fix!! I trusted that the installer knows what he was doing at that time! Since the bedroom is not cooling properly, I had the airducts cleaned. Still the same problem, the room is not cooling down as the rest of the house! I tried to call several times and customer service told me the service department will call me back. The service department does not call back. When I purchased the HVAC system, they were so aggressive with the sale, very nice and helpful. My worry is if they are running me around on fixing the installation work they did, how much more if you need them later when the ac /heating has issue?!? After the sale you are on your own!!! Service Department is not reliable!! False advertisement and does not deliver as promised!!! Didn't you mention when you closed the sale that if not satisfied with the HVAC system, you will take the system out without question and return the payment? Your warranty service and everything that you promised is NOT dependable, reliable and trustworthy!

Part that is bad per the technician.

THEY CERTAINLY DO NOT HONOR THEIR OWN WARRANTY!!! DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM! The technician that came out to install brought his wife and young son to the job site. Fine. Whatever. Get the system installed. Did not bother to seal the box nor mention that it needed be be sealed completely on a county road that is dusty as heck with a house that is sitting on top of dirt! This resulted in the unit sucking dust from the outside into the coils. Unit quit working at 11 months. They sent a tech that said the coils needed to be cleaned. And they said once the coils were cleaned, if it was still not cooling, it was a certain part. I spoke to one guy about a week and a half later and he told me he was going to see about getting the part ordered and he would return the call later that day. (Never did). Waited until the next week, called on Monday, just to be told that nowhere did it go at anything about a part needing replaced. Told them that it was funny that the person that I spoke to Wednesday found it. Suddenly it changed to we need a receipt for the coil cleaning and that we would have to provide them with a receipt for the coil cleaning before they replaced the part that was out that THEIR tech said was probably the problem. I am not made of money. I do not have $500 to may them to clean the coils inside and outside. Went and bought coil cleaner. Completed the coil cleaning ourselves. THEY NEVER SAID IT HAD TO BE COMPLETED BY A PROFESSIONAL UNTIL AFTER I SAID I HAD CLEANED THE COILS. They are now REFUSING to honor their warranty. DO NOT BUY FROM ROYAL AIR HOUSTON!!!! FIND ANOTHER COMPANY!!!!!!!! They do not care if you have a medical condition that requires you to maintain your coolness around a certain degree. Now they have jerked us around so much that the service warranty has expired.

    Frozen pipe in the attic

Thank you for taking the time to respond, George. Yes, your company did not straight up refused service but you made it impossible to get a response or get someone who is capable of fixing the problem. It shouldn't take a over a week to get someone out and it shouldn't take daily phone calls and multiple text messages. You were in peak time but somehow you found a whole team to install a whole HVAC unit within a few hours of us calling. Didn't sound like peak time when trying to take our money. You responded that the problems have been fixed and the system is working. We had to hire another HVAC company to come do an inspection of your work and many defects were noted (all of this will be submitted as part of evidence of your deceptive and sub-par work): 1. The furnace flue pipe was found disconnected from the furnace, creating a potential carbon monoxide and combustion-gas hazard. My family could have gotten KILLED from carbon monoxide when they go to turn on the heater in a few months from now. They wouldn't have known that you didn't install the furnace properly. You are the professional company we hired and paid $8,500 to install the equipment. You have a license to do this job. The independent HVAC inspector took many pictures to show the poor workmanship that was done. My family could have died, George. Imagine if that was your family. 2. The main system you installed in our house was from 2024. The system was installed July 2026. We paid for a brand new system...is this a defective system you pulled from somewhere? How is this not a deceptive practice? 3. The condenser is specifically manufacturer-labeled for R-410A refrigerant. The indoor evaporator coil is manufacturer-labeled for R-454B. These two systems are not supposed to be used together. You are a professional and should have known. Properly matched indoor and outdoor equipment designed, listed, and manufactured should have been installed. George S.- you are the licensed professional for your company. You were nowhere to be found to perform any type of inspection after your incompetent contractors did the work. I'm certain your license required you to supervise your people properly. The work performed was a complete disaster and that is absolutely a failure of your professional responsibilities. My family could have died from carbon monoxide because of you company's poor installation the HVAC unit.

Gap between air handler and return box
    Oscar M.

The installation itself was not straightforward because the new air handler would not fit through the existing attic access. To get it into the attic, the crew had to enlarge the opening by removing wood framing, molding, and drywall. During the process, the attic access stairs were also damaged. The installation was completed on Friday 7/10/26, and I was told someone would return on Monday 7/13/26 to repair the damage. Today is Friday, 7/17/26 and no one has shown up. I've received no meaningful communication only excuses and repeated promises that someone would call or come out, but nothing has happened. I also discovered issues with the HVAC installation itself. There is a gap between the air handler and the return plenum, allowing attic air to be pulled into the system. In addition, the return box was damaged during the installation and appears to have been repaired with duct tape rather than properly repaired or replaced. Delays can happen, and I understand that schedules change. What I cannot accept is the complete lack of communication and follow-through. As a customer, I should not have to repeatedly chase updates or wonder when promised repairs will be completed. The new HVAC equipment performs well, but the installation quality, damage to my home, and poor customer service have overshadowed what should have been a positive experience. Until these issues are properly addressed, I cannot recommend Royal Air Houston. I am sure someone will reply to this review asking to contact the office but that's what I have been doing and has yielded zero results.

Royal Air promotes itself with slogans like "Houston's Heat Doesn't Wait. Neither Do We." and advertises itself as a trusted residential and commercial HVAC company. Based on my personal experience, I cannot agree with those claims. I want other Texas homeowners to know what my family has gone through so they can make an informed decision before purchasing an HVAC system from this company. On November 30, 2025, we purchased a 4-ton Carrier AC system from Royal Air. One of the main reasons we chose this company was the 10-year warranty they heavily advertised and included in our contract. At the time, we believed we were investing in dependable equipment backed by reliable service. Looking back, it has become one of the biggest purchasing regrets we've ever made. On July 2, 2026, our AC stopped working. We immediately called the company using the phone number listed on their website and marketing materials. Instead of reaching an office where we could speak with someone who could actually help, every call was routed to what appeared to be a call center that simply took messages. We were never provided a direct number for a manager, supervisor, or anyone with authority to resolve our issue. On July 2, I spent more than two hours on hold without getting any meaningful assistance. On July 3, we were told a technician would come out on July 5. The appointment was canceled, and no repair was made. After calling again on July 5, we were rescheduled for July 8. A technician finally arrived on July 8, but unfortunately the visit solved nothing. The technician explained that he was only there to diagnose the problem and submit a report. He told us he did not have the proper equipment or parts to complete the repair. His exact words were: "I am only a technician. That's all I am out here to do--to check it and report the issue." So after waiting nearly a week, we were still left without air conditioning during temperatures exceeding 100 degrees. Since that visit, our experience has been complete silence. We sent multiple emails to royalairhouston@gmail.com and continued calling almost every day. As of July 21, 2026, we still had not received any meaningful communication about when our system would actually be repaired. During one phone call, we were told that a sensor had been ordered and they were still waiting for a control board. However, no one could tell us: When the parts were ordered. When they were expected to arrive. When the repair would be scheduled. Why no one had communicated any updates to us. While trying to understand the problem ourselves, we also learned that the sensor installed in our system appeared to be an older sensor that is reportedly no longer manufactured and has been replaced by a newer version. This raised an obvious question for us: Why would a newly installed 2025 Carrier system contain an older, discontinued sensor? We still have not received an explanation. One thing I will say is that Royal Air moved very quickly when it came to making the sale. Our system was installed almost immediately. Unfortunately, after the installation was complete, it felt as though the customer service disappeared. To make matters worse, we are still making monthly payments on an expensive HVAC system that has not been repaired under warranty. Because our family could not continue living in a home without air conditioning during the Texas summer, we were forced to purchase four window AC units, spending approximately $1,000 out of pocket just to keep our home livable while waiting weeks for repairs. We also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). In Royal Air's response to the BBB, the company stated that it would honor the 10-year warranty, that parts were on order, and that it would communicate with us. As of this writing, our experience has been that we have received little to no communication directly from the company despite those statements. Another disappointment was the lack of follow-up from the salesperson. Before the sale, we were told that if we ever had questions or needed help, we could reach out directly. After the installation, our attempts to contact that person went unanswered. No customer should have to spend weeks without air conditioning during a Texas summer while receiving little communication about the status of their warranty repair. Customers deserve timely updates, accountability, and a clear plan for resolving issues. This review reflects my personal experience with Royal Air. I encourage anyone considering doing business with them to read reviews carefully, ask detailed questions about warranty service, and understand what support is actually available after the sale--not just during it. I hope sharing our experience helps other families make an informed decision.

    New AC UNIT

Our 10 year old HVAC system gave out during the hottest part of summer. Typical South Texas 110 - 115 degree Texas weather with 70 - 80% humidity. We had two window units and 4fans running 24hrs a day. We could only get the temperature in our living room down to 85degrees. Our AC went out on Saturday. ( of course these things only happen on weekends and holidays). I called every AC company in Corpus Christi. Some would not return my calls others said they were boo at least a month out. We finally tried Royal Air. We called on a Tuesday afternoon. We live in Sinton and Royal Air is in Houston. They sent a technician out the next day. He arrived at our house around 6:00pm. After checking everything out, our 10 year old system was found to be beyond repair. He worked with us making phone calls and working with the finance company. Doug stayed until about 8:30pm and when he left we had a signed contract and an appointment for a total tear out and install of a new unit. Saturday afternoon two men showed up. They had the old units, inside and out removed and the new units installed in about 3hrs. They were polite and professional. Before they left they made sure we were satisfied with the installation and they made sure everything was cleaned up and no trash was left behind. Doug and his team went way above and beyond to help us out in our time of need.

Worst AC company ever!! They installed our AC and furnace and failed to weld properly, or at all. We had no idea until the refigerant all leaked out. We called them and they want 200$ to diagnose the problem we already had a nearby AC company diagnose. I told the (non English speaking) woman we have photos we can send where they could clearly see the problem. We need it fixed. Our refrigerant slowly leaked out because the welding was so bad. It has taken awhile, but is now VERY noticeable. They have been out for biannual checks and maintenance and never saw anything. I cannot speak to anyone that speaks english, asked for a supervisor and was told there isn't any. When I requested to speak to a manager or have a number to the office, she hung up on me. And when I called back, they didn't answer the phone. I would NEVER recommend this fly by night company and it is apparent on reviews that I am not the only one they have ripped off and not provided service after the sale.
