A very basic barber shop offering cuts and shaves. No appointments needed which I really like. There are usually plenty of barbers so the wait isn't that long unless you want to wait for a particular barber. Most of the barbers are Spanish speaking women except for one who is Korean. So I really appreciated the fact that she took the time to do this for me. I walked out with a really nice cut. It was really simple. Best barber shop for the money! They do shaves as well. They are extremely professional. I believe the owner is Isabelle. Very convenient for walk ins. They are fast and do a great job. Some of the stylists only speak Spanish, but Isabelle speaks both English and Spanish. She can help you figure out what you need. Make sure to bring cash. They don't take credit cards. I started getting my hair cut here in elementary school over 20 years ago. They were in a different location, and my original barber retired years ago, but I have Isabell cut my hair now and she's great. I think she's testing out other stylists/barbers right now since the other barber passed away a couple months ago. It's not a foo-foo, fancy joint. You can read a newspaper or magazine if you have to wait (I talked to her about instituting an appt. system). Or you can browse the cute puppies in the pet store next door; just make sure not to lose your unofficial spot in line. Parking's not a problem. I think I pay $12 for a short man's haircut. (short hair, not short men =) It's about $5 less than a SuperCuts type of place, but $5 more than those super cheap asian joints in Monterey Park and such. I don't think they take credit card, although I'm not positive on that. The hours vary depending on what day of the week. I can never remember, so next time I go I'll come back and post it -- if for nothing else than my own benefit. Hehe. read more

I wanted to try something different with my hair and I found this place. I went in a bit after they opened and waited about 10 minutes until it was my turn. They don't do appointments; it's walk-in only, which I don't mind. I didn't catch the name of who did my hair but there were two of them (I don't think I got Isabelle). Regardless, she did a great job and knew exactly what I wanted. I don't really like small talk so I personally liked that she didn't really say much to me. 30 minutes later, I walked out happy with a fresh cut. It was $19 for a cut, which, after doing a lot of research for barbers around the area, was one of the lowest prices I found. They take cash only, no credit cards, so make sure you stop by an ATM before coming in. As long as you know what you want, you'll get it. read more

I think Steve W's review is spot on! His review made me try it out and I have to agree 100%! Proper old school barber shop. I've been looking for a decent barber that knows how to do a proper fade in the area for what seems like forever. Well looks like I can stop looking. I don't know the name of it, but it looks like a giant mustache comb she used to guide the fade up. I just walked in w/o an appointment on a Saturday afternoon around 4pm and was immediately seated. Got a 2 on the sides blended up high and tight to a 4 on top. Came out symmetrical w/o any stray hairs when I got home. I almost always have to touch it up myself but not this time. This is a bare bones shop w/ only like 4 or 5 chairs. There IS a TV and no one talks you up if you don't want them to. There wasn't any shampoo or style or anything like that but that's what I want in a barber shop. read more

A very nice old school barber shop. I am not a fan of the Supercuts/Fantastic Sam's type shops. They appear to be more of a turn-and-burn kind of shop where they get you in and out rather quickly. These guys are not slow, but they don't rush to get you out when people are waiting. I also like the fact that they are true "BARBERS" who are licensed to use a straight for a shave or a little clean up. Great cuts at a very reasonable price (under $15). read more

I've been calling places to cut hair for awhile. Probably ever since the beginning of Covid-19. This was just by chance, the lady at the barber shop called me back and left a message. I called her a day later and asked if she was taking clients. She asked me if I was available now and I came right away. She told me she was only going to clean the shop and will cut only a few people's hair. I told her I wanted a high fade with a zero on the sides and a slight trim for the top. She didn't do bad especially since it was her first time to cut my hair. I know a lot of barbers never get the haircut right on the first try. She did okay. Will I go back? Maybe if the other barber I usually go to doesn't open up. All I gotta say after 8 weeks and searching for a decent barber I'll take what I can get. She did okay for her first time. Prices are decent for the area. I use to go to another shop down on PCH and the owner increased the prices. If you need a quick haircut check it out. read more

Couple other cutters are there one day or the other. Have yet to get anything but great service. But alas, the drive just isn't worth the $6 hair cut anymore. Yelped for some local barbers and found this one, literally half a mile away from me and right next to Umenoya Ramen! Decided to give them a shot one morning - they open at 8:30 AM on Saturday, w00t! Isabel cut my hair. I asked to have my hair shorten and she did a perfect job. I was in and out within 20 minutes.
