Went on a Saturday at around 09:00 for a haircut. Was asked if I had an appointment. I did not. They were able to seat me right away. I worked with Anthony. Anthony was a very friendly and knowledgeable person. I explained to Anthony what I wanted. He explained to me it could be done but not to cut the hair too short otherwise it would not lay right. Anthony did a great job. He was very meticulous. By the end of my haircut, there were 2 more customers waiting. Both of them had appointments. So for my next haircut, I'm going to book an appointment to avoid getting shut out in case they get too busy. The store is located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. I had an appointment with Mel, and there is no other way to say this: the man is a freaking artist. I have never had my beard look this good. He did not just clean it up. He shaped it, sharpened it, and made it look better than I even knew it could. He also took the time to teach me how to maintain it and keep it looking fresh between trims. While Anthony was personable and friendly, he accidentally cut the back of my ear during the haircut. He just said, "Oh, it's just a little scratch." I have a high pain tolerance, so I wasn't sure how bad it was--until I noticed he kept having to wipe blood off. There was no real concern shown--no "Are you okay?" or even a genuine apology. What really bothered me is that after my haircut, he didn't clean any of his equipment before starting the next client--even though it clearly had blood on it. Probably not a lot, but still. That's basic hygiene, and it left me feeling really uncomfortable. It's not just about the $40, though that felt steep for a simple cut with no extras like a hot towel or straight razor for a "skin fade". It's about the lack of care and professionalism. As someone with years of experience in customer service, I would never put money first--especially if I had physically hurt someone. I'd be focused on making it right and seeing if they are ok. I left feeling disappointed and uneasy. I wouldn't recommend a business that brushes off injuring a customer and shows so little concern for hygiene or customer well-being. also, I think maybe he put something over it, but he didn't mention it or even ask if it's okay to put anything on the cut. read more

He is amazing, consistent, efficient, and his attention to detail is top-notch. Easy to talk to, too. He also has a very cool, tiny-but-super-strong blower that blasts hair clippings off your body and clothes, so you can get back to work without worrying about taking a shower. Might possibly be the best haircut I've had ever. Was immediately greeted by both barbers, promptly asked if I've set an appointment or not and was seated rather quickly. Pretty small barbershop (only 4 haircuts possible at a time) but the haircut was fast and efficient. I asked for a low taper and a little bit off the top which took around 20 minutes. Had some small talk and my barber Mel gave some pointers about my hair specially because it was curly. Some barbers don't account for the shrinkage so it was refreshing. They style your hair as well which was awesome. All in all, it was a great experience and I would def recommend to anyone of any age looking for a clean cut. ($40 with $10 tip) read more

I have going to see Anthony for over 7 years now! He never disappoints and always goes above and beyond my expectations. He is the friendliness man I know and is always interested in what's going on with me and my family. When my son is old enough we will make it an outing to get our haircuts with Anthony! The shop is super clean and has gone through some renovations. Plenty of parking in the shopping center, but I would recommend coming off of Madrona rather Hawthorne to avoid having to cross over traffic. read more

The quality of work is excellent, but don't bother making an appointment--they won't respect your scheduled time. I was forced to go across the street to get cash because they are a cash-only business and their ATM wasn't working. When I returned just minutes later, they had already given my chair to a walk-in, fully aware that I was coming right back. What a joke.
