First time here, great cut and the people are really chill and the conversations are really funny.

This was my first haircut in over a year and I needed a new barbershop. I found these guys on Yelp and couldn't be more happy!! Called for an appointment and they said to just come on down, I did and only had to wait about 15 minutes, on a Saturday, which flew by because the shop is so fun and friendly :) I sat down in the chair looking like a hippy and left the shop looking like a citizen LOL It was a great haircut, I gave little direction other then cut it off and Jay gave me a cut that looked like I'd been coming to him for years. The shop is in the Riviera Village so there is plenty of parking and lots to do before and after your haircut. I love the shop, the barbers & the location. Got a cut by Rick. Called in to see what the wait time was and was told they only do walk ins. Which is a good thing imo. They're super close to riviera village in redondo beach. The vibe of the shop was chill. The two barbers cutting seemed cool. Waited only about 10 minutes and it was my turn. Rick was cool. Made for good conversation. The cut itself was fine. Came here as my normal barber was booked and needed a last minute cut. I'd say that I'd probably come here again if ever in an emergency situation for a cut. I have been going to this barber shop for a few years now. When I travel I am forced at times to go to another shop and I always regret it. If you want a place that has talented barbers and great conversation this is it. This shop reminds me of the Clint Eastwood barber shop in the movie Gran Torino. Which is what we all should want. When I first moved to Redondo, I found Jared and wow what a haircut I must say .. the mid fade I request always comes out sharp and I immediately notice the qualify of my life improve especially around the ladies. I should've stayed faithful to him, but at times Ive strayed to other barbers due to my current location and time of the day. Jared is always worth the wait, if there is one. I've finally realized there's no other barber for me, other than Jared. That being said, everyone else at riviera does a great job as well. Beautiful location. Good environment. A quick walk to Starbucks if you need to while you wait. Cigars, television, good conversation, they got it all. Jared is definitely the spearhead of this shop. I've had to bite my tongue a lot in this shop as the 'main guy' is quite unpleasant to be around and loudly voices and inappropriately pushes opinions. but, this is the closest and most fairly priced place around me. Whenever I go in, I just hope for the best and let others go ahead of me if they're waiting for 'the main guy.' I've almost given up on the place until I met and got cut by Isaias. Riviera Barbershop is a classic barbershop in the Rivera Village of Redondo Beach. It is in a great location with a relaxing atmosphere, where the ocean breeze is blowing and palm trees are swaying down the street. The interior is a barbershop art gallery with 100's of photos, prints, paintings and relics. The stations are set up for safe distancing and protection. Prior to Covid-19, you could get a beer or bottle of water just for stopping by. Hopefully, we'll resume that tradition when it's safe to shoot the breeze and drink a beer together. Decided to go down there a few weeks back as it looked like a cool old-school barbershop. I read a few of the comments about the barber's talking conspiracy theories but thought I would go for it anyways as I needed a cut and I am okay with different political opinions. However, I ended up leaving before making it to the chair. The two male barbers loudly joked about such topics as:  breaks being for women and children, misgendering each other, Sharia law being good because it keeps women in the home, and women faking sexual assault allegations. I have no problem with visiting businesses run by people with different political opinions, however, I would prefer not to get my haircut by somebody who is shouting racist and sexist things, even if they are meant to be jokes. I can't comment on the haircuts here, but the professionalism is lacking. read more

Great barbershop! I was hesitant to try out a barbershop in Redondo Beach, but I definitely wouldn't hesitate to get a haircut here again if I'm in the area again! I was having trouble to find a barbershop since my old barber consistently wasn't cutting my hair the way I liked it anymore. This would be my go to place if I lived near by. I visited this barbershop recently, and I have been a customer for years. Due to covid my haircuts have been far in between. I had a great experience the last time I came in October, barbers were taking excellent measures for safety against covid-19. After months and looking at their protocols, I noticed the business page says staff are wearing masks. However after walking in recently, I can confirm some of the more recent reviews. Barbers and customers are not wearing any masks. I decided to leave. And I can say I'm gone for good. If you are not gonna care about keeping yourself healthy and safe then you shouldn't work at a high risk position. If you care about your health then stay away from this business. read more

A total man cave! Upon arrival I immediately felt like I was at home and found my new spot long as the haircut was as good as the atmosphere. They have some great nostalgic artwork and items throughout the place and had punk tunes playing on the box. Within a minute or two I was greeted by my barber Vladimir. He walked over, shook my hand, pointed at a beer cooler and asked me if I wanted a complementary brewski to which I responded "F*** yes I do, thank you" Vladi sat me down and discussed what I wanted done. We had great convo throughout the session and at the end I decided to get a straight razor shave as well. I was extremely pleased with both the cut and shave and i left feeling so fresh and so clean. Pricing is on par for the area and for the added value of a cold brewski and great convo I was more then pleased with the experience and will be a long term customer of this spot. read more

You would think that with the amount of shops this owner has opened within miles of each other you would at least find one decent barber in them... I've had a cut from both johnny and sway.. Great guys johnny really caters to you. Where as sway is a bit less attentive... Nonetheless the quality of work is not up to my standard... Jared is AMAZING!!! My 5 yr old LOVES his haircut!! I just showed Jared a picture of what we wanted and he executed flawlessly. He is such a gentleman, double checking with me throughout the process to make sure I felt good about my son's hair cut and always making sure he was attentive to making sure my son was comfortable. Jared is patient, very respectful, professional, meticulously detailed in his barbering skills, and an all around kind and awesome person. We are so happy he is in our new neighborhood! **As a fairly conservative and protective mother, I found this barbershop to be wonderful. It has a very comfortable, clean, classic men's barber shop vibe with some fun old school memorabilia (Bob's Big Boy, Dennis the Menace, Felix the Cat, some historical presidential portraits). After reading some of the negative reviews, I failed to see what could possibly be construed as not family friendly. This barbershop is a very classic, relaxed, family friendly, professional and chill environment. We went at noon on a week day, so it was not crowded. I think it is reasonable to expect the conversation and the atmosphere to change on a weekend day with more people. It is a men's barber shop after all, so one should respect that. After searching for a great barbershop, I not only found that but I found a great barber named Tommy. it's a total guys barber, you come in wait on their comfy bench, grab a drink if you'd like, watch tv or flip through some awesome magazines! The decor in the shop is really point on. They got classic photos, neat furniture, an old school looking coca cola ice box, the lamp from Christmas story, and other rustic yet classic accents throughout. Definitely has great character inside and out. I explained my desired cut to Tommy, hoping that a barber actually understands what I'm envisioning spot on. Well let me just say Tommy exceeded my expectations and definitely found a returning customer! He's passionate in what he does, which is a huge upside for anyone looking for a solid barber. Tommy cut my hair. I came here a few days after I got a bad haircut from another barber at a different shop. He spent a lot of time fixing my cut and have me great advice. He spent a lot longer than I expected. Definitely a skilled barber. After a cut they will use a hot towel to soften your hair on your neck then shave and powder. They also use after shave. A nice treatment considering most be places will just rush you out. Pabst blue ribbon is cold in the fridge. Ask for Tommy. This is a great place. Cuts are about $26. He realized he will be running about 5 min late, so he went ahead and advised them. The barber said, "sure no worries" my husband arrived at 5:36pm and the barber said, "bro you said 5 not 6min" my husband apologized but the barber did not want to honor his appointment. My husband asked if any barber could see him, but they all refused. What kind of a BS is that?? My husband will never be returning! And I'll be sure to share my experience with everyone.
