The prayer shawl that I dropped off came back unacceptable. Not only were the stains still there, but new ones appeared. When I brought this to his attention, here are his answers; " It's old." (No it isn't") " I had sweat stains on it" ( that part of the shawl does not touch any place that sweats). He said he "washed it three times."Now I have other marks on my item that were not there previously. This was a horrible job and the customer service was non existent. So glad I found Royal Cleaners! I spilled red wine on my new camel colored Burberry wool blazer & was nearly in tears. I foolishly went on internet to see what to do. I poured water on the wine stain to dilute it. Then I had a big water AND a wine stain! I went on Yelp to find a good cleaners. Royal worked their magic & blazer looks new again! I brought some slacks here to have some hooks replaced but when I went to pick them up there was some questions about the hooks. I ended up going back 3 times for these pants and in the end they fixed them and didn't charge me. They apologized for the run around which was really nice. This place is pathetic; the only thing worse is their poor attitude when they screw up. I brought in comforter that had a 6"water stain on the corner after it had been stored improperly. It was too big to fit into a regular washing machine so I brought it there to have it washed in a commercial machine. The old woman that works there assured me it would look like new; which I believed since it was, after all, its just a water stain. She told me it would be ready in two hours. I arrived 30 minutes early, expecting to wait, but it was already "finished". I was suspicious since in just 90 minutes it was supposedly treated, washed and dried. When I checked the corner of the comforter, it looked EXACTLY the same! She said, "I tried but couldn't get it out. Some stains just don't come out." I asked her how a water stain could not come out in a regular washing? I also told her that I don't believe it was even washed. She said it was and she even dried it at "no additional charge". When I put my hand inside the folded quilt it was completely cool. Of course there is no way it could be washed and DRIED without it still feeling warm inside 10 minutes after it came out of a hot dryer! This deceitful, old necromancer then says she will take $3 off the $18 bill. I took the comforter and told her to keep her "token refund". Having grown up in Framingham, I have gone to Royal Cleaners numerous times in the past. I've always found the prices reasonable and the service timely. I no longer live in the area, but needed a dress for a wedding hemmed and brought it to Royal as I was familiar with them. The dress was your standard bridesmaid's dress from David's Bridal and needed barely an inch hemmed off the bottom. Nothing more. It was not any fancy material. To my own discredit, I did not ask how much it would cost prior to leaving it, mostly because I assumed it would be pretty standard. When I went to pick up the dress I was shocked to see that it was $60! I could have easily brought the dress elsewhere (and would have) and received the same quality work for far less money. I called back after picking up my dress to try to understand the pricing and was told the dress took "5 hours" to hem, which seems a bit ridiculous. They have definitely lost my business and I spread the word in my office to my co workers who live in the area to never bring anything there. They too were appalled at the price. I had hoped to have alterations done at Royal for my own upcoming wedding, including my dress and the bridesmaids, but now I will definitely take my business elsewhere. Edit: Moments after writing this review, Fabio, who I assume is the owner, called to argue with me about my phone call to the shop. He told me I needed to take the dress elsewhere and get another estimate. I was pretty taken aback at this level of customer service. I paid for the dress and left the shop. He stated I "threatened" to write a bad Yelp review, but all I have written is an honest account of the pricing and my surprise. Even IF the pricing was appropriate, it is not appropriate to call your paying customers back and argue about it. It made me extremely uncomfortable. read more

This place is pretty incredible. My boyfriend has had dozens of shirts washed and pressed here and they have always done a fantastic job. I have had two pairs of pants hemmed here and they came out perfect. It didn't take long at all to have the measurements taken. Also, they have a service for cleaning UGGS, which I have to say, I was a bit hesitant at first because it cost $40. However, when I picked up the boots, they looked brand new as if I just bought them. It feels great to pay $40 instead of $160 for brand new boots. They are relatively quick and everyone is super friendly. The price is pretty consistent to most cleaners. I was excited to see they had a coupon for 10 bucks off for new customers and used it to clean a blanket, was a little shocked to find out it was 25 bucks to clean a blanket, but with coupon 15 bucks I decided to try them and was very disappointed when I got my newly cleaned blanket home and saw that my all the edges were covered with little balls of wool . It was most likely from another blanket they cleaned it with as the pilling was a different color than my blanket. Took me an hour to remove all the pilling from the edges of my blanket. Nice people, but they didn't do the work that was paid for and promised. When I dropped off and picked up everyone is nice and friendly they make you feel good about their store, but they didn't do the service and acted like they had. I had a ski jacket that needed a rip fixed inside the sleeve lining. I showed them in the store when dropping off what needed repair and they even pinned it. After the service I brought the jacket home and realized they didn't fix it at all! Which I wanted so I can use it on a ski trip. The guy on the phone says she must have fixed another rip in the jacket. I was horrified because the jacket was in new condition except for the liner rip and didn't need other repair! What else did she do to my jacket ran through my mind! Didn't find that yet...kind of hoping not to... The second item was my wife's coat which needed a minor repair to the pocket which they did fix, but it was suppose to get cleaned as well. When my wife took off the protective plastic there were feathers all over the wool jacket and there was a spot on the jacket that made us wonder if they cleaned it as well. I called them and told them about my ski jacket (didn't know about the other issue with my wife's jacket at the time) and they did offer to make it right. If it were a minor issue I would go back but as they didn't do the work at all and I am struggling to see this as an just an honest mistake, I am not going back. Steve and Royal Cleaners ruined a $350 sequin dress. They cleaned it without reading the label or testing the material and returned the dress to me a totally different color. And they didn't even notice it didn't look the same as when it came it! Quality and attention to detail? Not in this factory. The worst part was how Steve, the owner, totally abdicated responsibility, blaming the manufacturer. I told him he had one very unhappy customer and did not offer even an apology. I've been a customer of Royal Cleaners in Framingham for about 5 months now, and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about them. They are always super-friendly, I'm in and out the door in under 2 minutes, they have the quickest turnaround time, and their prices are amazing! The real reason I came on to write a review about them is because I recently left a wallet in the pocket of a pair of pants I gave to them to clean. I had taken out a bunch of cash because I was about to go on a trip to Florida, so the wallet had $500 in it. I realized on Sunday that it was probably in my pants at Royal, and I got somewhat worried I wouldn't get it back since I didn't know them well. They were closed Sunday so I planned to call them first thing Monday morning. When I woke up this morning (Monday), I already had a voicemail from them saying that they had my wallet and I could come pick it up whenever. When I just went in there, they gave me the wallet with every dollar still in it. I feel like this kind of thing is very rare these days - they could have easily taken it, but instead they were completely honest and even went so far as to notify me that they had it. I am more than impressed with the level of service Royal Cleaners provides. I also love it that they are a family business and they really take pride in what they do. I took a favorite pair of pants to them to have the hemline fixed (the stitching was coming out). The first time I went to pick them up they accidentally dry cleaned the pants instead of fixing the hem. The second time I went to pick them up they shortened the pants about 2 inches! At first the women behind the counter didn't believe me that they did the adjustment even though the Royal tags were still present. Then she agreed after an mild argument that they did the hem. It was a very strange interaction, but luckily they didn't cut the pants. So I left the pants again to allow them to lengthen the pants and put in a hem line. The third time I tried to pick up my pants they not only shortened them even more, the hem was cut. Therefore they could no longer be lengthened. If this wasn't bad enough, the woman was extremely rude and insisted that I didn't explain what I wanted! No apologies, just snide looks like she thought it was my fault. read more

Horrible experience!!!! I called to say I never received my new pants in my dry cleaning pickup 2 days ago, they said they never received it and told me to recheck my house. I told them I did recheck and they kept saying: Honey you are wrong over and over again. I asked them not to keep calling me honey and he proceeded to again. The absolute worst dry cleaning experience I've ever had! We brought in a pale yellow Victorinox shirt with light blue stripes and what we got back was the same shirt with PINK stripes!! They said that they had to get a stain out (the size of a bread crumb) so the entire shirt was soaked in a solution (3 times) in an effort to get the stain out with the trade off that the shirt would become this yellow and pink marshmallow-y mess! I had to twist the man's hand for an apology and that BITCH who worked there yelled at us saying that it's not their fault. They took a beautiful yellow shirt with blue stripes and made it an unwearable one with pink stripes...I think SOMEBODY is at fault. They refused to rectify the situation saying that they've been the best dry cleaners for 10 years...I find it despicable that Royal Cleaners can commit crimes behind a stupid claim as the "best dry cleaners". read more

I WAS a very loyal customer and referred countless customers to Royal cleaners in Nobscot. I moved and started going to the rt. 9 location. 3 strikes your out! This last time I just had enough! A simple jacket to dry clean and they left cleaning solution all over the area they tried to get a stain out. It was also pressed very badly. When I returned it to be done over, I did not even get an apology, just excuses.. Three trips later to pick up a jacket I was to wear to an event and never did. Took my coat to be cleaned and when I picked it up, it was worse than when I dropped it off. It had black fuzz all over it (the coat is yellow) and the stains were not removed. I brought it back. Just picked it up today and the black fuzz was almost gone, but the one stain was still on it. The woman at the counter had the nerve to tell me that it was part of the fabric! As I was inspecting it, she walked away and began to talk to another employee and totally ignored me. This website is an important tool not only for customers but for businesses owners too. They can learn from the reviews and try to make amends or improve the quality of their service. Big no no! I dropped off a suite and a dress about 1 1/2 weeks ago and even though I was very well treated I didn't like how my dress was treated as a wedding dress even though it was a gown. The lady said they usually charge $100 but they were going to charge me $70. I asked her 70? That is almost the price of the dress itself. She said "Oh, but look at the beading!" She had no ideia it was my wedding dress, she kept asking me what was the ocasion once I mentioned my wedding she went crazy pricing it. Then she told me the price is like that because if has to be sent away for cleaning. Their website says everything is done on the premises. I don't know. As soon as I get my dress and suit I'll let you guys know and If I don't like it, I'll not bring the rest of my clothing. I'll become a customer somewhere else.
