Seems to be a popular gas station in the DMV area. Plenty of pumps to choose from. Very busy station but traffic seemed to flow smoothly through. I never saw anyone have to wait for a pump. They have a chicken restaurant located inside. Didn't eat any though but looked delicious. They have everything you may need and clean restrooms. This royal farms is on the way to my job, and i stop by everyday, for one reason, their Green Teas. But they don't have anything, the fridge is almost always empty. I have stopped twice at this location since my initial check in. Each stop was for a different reason which lead to a different experience. I feel that gave me an overall experience of this establishment. The first experience was to just get fuel for my vehicle. This was a smooth experience where all I had to do was pull, put in my card, pump my gas, and go. It was a great experience and left no bad feelings. The next visit allowed for me to have an experience inside the store. I walked in and it felt almost unwelcoming. I'm not all that versed in Royal Farms so I don't know what a typical store setup/look should be. It felt like I was being rushed to get in and out of here as fast as they could deal with me. I did get my item, pay and left. I stood outside for a few minutes and took in the area. I parked this time behind the store. Good evening First let me say if I could give 10 stars I would! I am writing for a complaint and also a concern. I work for Metro so I frequent the store on Ardwick. I live off of Annapolis Road so I decided to stop at this location , I was more than happy and surprised to see a familiar face I have been missing at the other location (Jessica). But also irritated and concerned because as I am waiting in the line to check out there was an elderly man on the register and the customer was very rude to him and called him stupid and needed to be taught how to do his job correctly! He said very politely sir just hold on please I will go get my manager and she will help you. So he goes gets her she comes over ask the man what the issue was and how could she help he told her he was stupid and she needed to teach him how to ring up gas correctly. She asked him what was he trying to do, he said something about the Rofo gas card she rang him up I saw her scan his phone and then herd her explain to him that it was not working and asked him for his phone number so she could put it in . It didn't work again so she then tryed to explain he then very rudely and Nasty told her she was also stupid and needed. To be taught again, she then told him he didn't need to be so rude she was trying to help he then was nasty again and she told him she wasn't gonna be yelled at nor could he continue to insult her employee and walked away all this as the line is waiting. When she walked away he saw another young lady cooking and said she knows what he needed. She said ok came over and tried to help him also. Jessica went over and stood to the side as to not to keep arguing with the man. He then went over to her pointed his finger in her face. Taunting her cursing and yelling so she then tells him don't point in her face and addresses the fact that there were small children in the store and he need to stop or leave! He keeps yelling then the elderly man helped the next customer. After-he helped him I noticed he went to the entry and asked her to come over there I'm not sure what he was saying to her they were quiet. I have left a comment about her before because she has always been polite super helpful and to not just to me but to my coworkers and my mother. And I need to repeat myself again because the way she adamantly stuck up for her employee and demanded respect for him the kids in her store speaks volumes to me as to the kind of young lady she is. It's ok... I speak for myself and everyone in the Landover Hills/New Carrollton/Hyattsville area when I say we desperately needed a new gas station/eatery in the area. The gas: The gas took forever to pump. I have never seen gas flow so slowly. I assume this is a result of the pumps being brand new. The area/inside: The construction team did a great job. This area is bright and welcoming. The interior is organized and spacious. The self-checkout was a great idea. The Food: I ordered a 15-piece, a large order of mac and cheese, and two biscuits. The chicken was cooked perfectly. However, the biscuits were hard and dry, and I received two small containers of mashed potatoes instead of mac and cheese (I didn't realize the error until I got home). Customer Service: A hot ghetto mess--- The very next day, I took the containers of the dry mashed potatoes to the restaurant to request a refund. The cashier didn't know what to do, so she called the manager. The manager made every excuse in the world and then offered to provide me with the large mac and cheese I should have received (stating "they do not refund food). The mac and cheese was dry and crusty, and her excuse was "stir it up, it's been sitting on the heating tray." Just Horrible. read more

Stopped by this location for a late food run. Royal Farms has consistent fresh chicken, western fries, and fresh aromatic coffee! Long story short, it was noticeable that the location was short staff, but that was no challenge for Nova and Julie! They managed the influx of customers all while serving fresh, hot food to order with a smile. I would not have thought anything of the "delay" had they not been adamant about recognizing they had a higher standard. Again, the overt effort to exceed customer service standards left me not at all bothered by any perception of lack of on their part. I leave this review because so many people are quick to recognize the lack of. I hope the Royal Farms Corporation recognizes they have two potential industry leaders amongst them and acknowledges the exceptional energy and customer service of Nova and Julie accordingly. I went to this store for the soft opening where everyone who had gotten onto event brite could get an invitation for a free meal and drink (soda/coffee/tea). Pulled up and it wasnt too busy. Store is in a good location because there is no other convenience gas station in the vicinity. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich on white bread for work the next day and mac and cheese. Mac and cheese was basic but when I tell you the sandwich was popping bay-bee thats an understatement. The chicken was actually their friend chicken tenders made into chicken salad. The food always seems to smell delicious, and those people always come back with change in their pocket. So I decided to go ahead and go try them out to see what it was all about. To start Royal Farms has breakfast sandwiches ranging from $3.19 through $3.49. Do you have your typical bacon, egg, and cheese, sausage, egg, and cheese, chicken,egg, and cheese, even a waffle bread option. They have salads, burgers, hotdogs, and sides like macaroni and cheese. But I've only ever seen people come out of Royal Farms with chicken boxes so that's what I went to go get. None of their individual chicken meals are over $10. Each meal comes with fries, and you have an option to get the small side with it for an additional cost. So I copped their three-piece white meal (a breast and two chicken wings, steak fries,and a waffle pictured-$9.50). Much to my surprise...everything here was decent. The chicken was crispy, the fries were thoroughly cooked, even the waffle was highly flavored, and tasty!! For $2.50 I got a cherry slushy too...I needed to wash this meal down. Customer service was decent, parking was ample, there's no online ordering, and this particular establishment was clean. Yesterday evening I order wedges with cheese. The food was cold. I asked the young lady behind the counter can she please make more because they are cold. Please note I was very polite when asking. The taller light skin female with colorful dreads stated they are fresh they just came up. I said ok & left. When I got in my car & opened the box the wedges was old and cold. I go back inside & ask AGAIN POLITELY can I have some fresh wedges please. The light skin young lady proceeds to be rude and states that they are fresh & said I am doing to much. I was caught off guard because the manager was standing right there. I left as though she shouldn't have been speaking to me in that way especially because I am a customer & because I wasn't being rude. Royal Farms corporate really needs to kick this one out of the franchise. Yesterday a dear friend ordered delivery to my home via Instacart after stopping by the store and being told there would be a 60 minute wait for an eight piece dinner and 4 three-piece wings. The first delivery had a single wing and seven of the eight pieces in the box. She reported it as missing items and asked to have her 4 three-piece wing boxes delivered. We got one three-piece wing box. The Young Instacart driver kindly called the store and they told her to hold on. And then after four minutes, hung up on her. She tried calling six more times as I stood there watching, and they refused to answer the phone. I don't know what kind of ghetto crap this is, but it definitely is not customer service. I've actually stopped in to that location two or three times and it did not seem horrible. This place was great when it opened but has gone way downhill. My husband went for gas early one morning recently and there were people engaged in sex on the sidewalk by the front door (presumably prostitution - they appeared in rough shape). Then today we decided to pick up some fried chicken, which was delicious the last time we had it. We tried two self checkout machines and neither one worked so we had to find a staffer to check us out. We got the chicken home and it was horrible. I've gone to this Royal Farms twice now between 2-4am and both times they were randomly closed. The employees only answer the door for the service trucks then lock the doors behind them. I watched a employee do it today. 4 other customers tried to enter the Royal Farms after me as well but the door was still locked. If you want to eat Salt NOT chicken you could waste your money out here. I bought Mix pack on the 1/28/20, white meat 1/30/20 and dark meat chicken on 2/5/20.
