visited Royal Farms 3601 Victory Blvd Portsmouth Va. every thing was awful, burnt up chicken strip, hot dogs old, reg chicken was dried up and old. This is not the first time I visited it we frequently go to Rivers casino which is right across the street. So every time has been a total disappointment. after the third time I'm done. A four star gas station? Yep! This is a great Royal Farms location. They make some really great fried chicken. It's not typical has station food, but really fresh, juicy, amd flavorful. I really like that you can order by the piece, as well as in combinations. They also have excellent coffee, I particulary recommend the Royal Farms select blend. They also have a consistently clean restroom, which makes it good for a stop 24 hours a day. It's also located right off I264, so it's an easy stop when traveling! read more

Today is September 11th I asked the nice guy behind the food counter how long the food has been sitting and he told me to ask the girl I'n the breads because he just got in which I did and she told me I'm more than welcome to wait ten minutes and As I told her ok that will be fine and as I walked away she said "TF" idk what it is about this location but the people are rude for no reason. I have tried for the last time to get something as simple as a chicken biscuit from this location! I ordered one this morning and it was made to order so I get it and go to my work truck to eat before my first call, when I bite into the chicken it's like rubber, it was like they took a old tender from yesterday and fried it again! So gross I took it back in for a refund which is something I usually don't bother to do. This was the third time they could not get a chicken biscuit right in about two months! Took my money to WAWA and I will never look back! Sorry Royal Farms might not mean much to you but you lost a customer! PS: first time I tried a chicken biscuit from RF it was the Chesapeake location and it was amazing but sadly I have tried Smithfield location twice and they we're terrible, this Portsmouth location three times and I'm finally giving up on RF altogether!! read more

I work for construction and we all ordered our meals and got drinks sense we aren't able to leave the job site and we ordered sub, two sandwiches, and fries along with a four piece chicken meal they gave us all but the chicken and rolls, no silver wear nor the sauces I ordered. I highly recommend you check your food before the delivery people leave. And this isn't the first time, IN STORE they do the same thing they just throw your stuff in a bag and forget things. Chicken is good but I ordered four wings that came up to $7.09. I expected buzzard wings but got some Parakeet wings. Very small to have to pay $1.59 each. Royal farms is like a wawa except they have more of the dinner meal (fried chicken or rotisserie chicken) and all the sides instead of the sandwiches wawa has. They just like wawa are 24 hours. And all the little treats of cakes and chips and sodas and beers they also share alike. I like royal farms but one of my main issues is that after 11pm whatever chicken they have is whah they have. They will tell you they dont plan om frying more. read more

Check your bags carefully when you order food. Got back to my house and noticed a side was missing. Drove back and all the guy said was "we're out of that" and walked away. Tried to sarcastically thank him for letting me know before I left the first time but he was already back in the kitchen. Went to get a refund and the cashier didn't want to refund the sales tax. If you aren't familiar with the Royal Farms chain, get yourself acclimated. On the outside, it looks like nothing more than a gas station, but inside is where all of the magic happens. It's just like Wawa, but ten thousand times better because of their "world famous" made-to-order pressure fried chicken and potato wedges. This location is 24 hours, too, so it's the ideal spot to feed your late night fried chicken cravings. They also offer made-to-order fruit smoothies, hoagies, and dinner platters. How good is this place? Honestly, before I learned there was one in the area, I'd have no problem hopping in the car and driving hundreds of miles to the next closest location in Baltimore. Yeah, it's Portsmouth, and the service isn't perfect, but you're not there to make friends. Grab yourself a fried thigh platter, and thank me later. read more

As long as you have about 25 minutes to kill to get a chicken biscuit, this is the place for you. The food is as okay, but not, "late-for-work okay." This location usually has two people standing at the register while one person prepares the food with no deliberate speed or organization at all. Also, just when you've had enough and just want your money back so you can get on with your life, factor in another 5 minutes standing at the register for that process. Save yourself the aggravation, there are plenty of other places that won't take nearly as long for the same or better result. read more

Royal farms is similar to wawa but the service was not up to par. The food was expensive and poorly made. I was waiting for a turkey sub for over 10 minutes and it had hardly any turkey on it. I went with a group of people and no one that ordered pickles got ANY pickles. The service was also very slow! There were many employees but most of them weren't working. If your in the area and are looking for something to eat I would suggest McDonalds over Royal Farms... And that's saying a lot! read more
