Sometimes, we just have to have fried chicken. We went to get chicken tonight so I went to the kiosk and made my choice. We very seldom frequent Royal Farms but I do know that you make your choice and then go to checkout and pay. Well now, as with many places, it's also partially self-service. SO, I paid. I expected a receipt for my payment which I did not get. I did have a printout of what I ordered. I asked the person behind the counter "do I get a receipt". She abruptly said "You have it in your hand, Mam". I then went to pickup my order and the young gentleman was very nice, he took off his gloves and said let me get you a bag for your purchase. He gave me the bag and showed me that there were napkins if I wanted. So you've got the bad and good out of my Royal Farms experience today. This experience, of course, will stand out in my mind each time I pass by Royal Farms and now one knows why excellent Customer Service means a lot to people. I think Royal Farms is a great addition to Kirkwood Highway, a major road that is lacking in Wawa or any other major convenience store chain. This Royal Farms is at the corner of Kirkwood Highway and Duncan Road. One entrance is on westbound Kirkwood Highway. If you're on eastbound Kirkwood Highway, make a left turn onto Duncan Road and enter from there. The format of this store is the same as other Royal Farms in the chain. There is a gas pump pavilion in front of the store. Inside the store, they have a counter display for fried chicken. However, they also make chicken sandwiches and a number of other items, which you order on a touchscreen display. The rest of the store is stocked with standard convenience store items, mostly snacks and drinks. I would go to this store mostly for gas, which is comparatively inexpensive compared to the rest of New Castle County, especially if you factor in the 10 cents/gallon reward card discount. Food preparation at this store can be rather slow, especially if the store is busy. Also the cashier seems a tad surly, although that can depend on who's working the front registers at the time. read more

This was the first time I had come to RoFo in years because I prefer Wawa (due to cleanliness and food choice) so I truly regret giving RoFo another chance. I don't ever make reviews but the customer service here was atrocious. I ordered a pulled chicken sandwich and the woman put a whole chicken breast on the sandwich and gave it to me. After biting straight into chicken bone, I took the sandwich back and she got an attitude with me for asking for it to be remade. She ended up remaking the sandwich and adding cheese (this wasn't on the order; I'm lactose intolerant) so I took the sandwich back again and she got another attitude. Wawa has nothing to worry about with these places. This one is the worst. I only stop by so much because I live next door. There is ALWAYS a line (even at 2am). Service is horrendous and it is dirty and it stinks. Got a chicken sandwich one time and they forgot to put the chicken on the sandwich. Went in another time and the place was filled with fryer smoke and smelled awful. If you buy a perishable item, check the date. I tried to buy a milk from the cooler and it had expired a week ago. Got a chicken slider and a LARGE fries with cheese (2.29 without the cheese, 3.89 with) so I thought this was pricey, but I rolled with it. OMG!!!! If I had not just witnessed this myself I would not have believed it. I went into this Royal Farms (Kirkwood Hwy. & Duncan Rd) with my 2 sons ( my youngest is 7 yrs old)...the girl behind the food counter was on the phone arguing with and cussing at her mother (in front of the entire store) then she slams the phone down and proceeds to yell out that "she is not doing this sh*t with anyone today and nobody better ask her for sh*t because she is not feeling it"...she ignored the fact that my 7 yr old and myself were standing there trying to put a food order in and walked off to the cash register...she argued with co workers about how much "work" she is expected to do and said that she is going to shut down the food station because she doesn't want to deal with it. She was blatantly rude to a group of customers that came in a few minutes after us. When I asked if there was a manager on duty, she said "yeah, i am the manager"...the other two employees that were there, were just as obnoxious as she was. When we got home and looked at the food that we were given it was disgusting (dried up chicken and the mac & cheese looked regurgitated)...needless to say...that is the LAST TIME I am going in there for anything! I will go the extra distance to WAWA from now on. If this is the level of service that Royal Farms feels is acceptable, someone needs to shut the place down!!! read more

Do you notice all your reviews for your stores are like one or two stars. Should be a warning sign. Royal farms go back down south, you obviously can't handle this market. I have been to this location for the third and final time. The store is unkept, bathrooms have one sink, which barely operates, and is dirty. Food is a 0 out of 10. I ordered a chicken salad wrap. Sandwich came out in a 6" wrap. Out of the six inches, only 3" had filling, remainder was empty. It was like getting a quarter of a sandwich. Chicken was hard on the ends, and the one piece of sweet pepper and the two shards of onion, which were told , were all packed onto this anorexic sandwich. The finale was the cashier having a conversation across the counter talking to her friends shopping in the store, about how she doesn't k ow why people consider her a whore. I have been at this Royal Farms SEVERAL times during morning and early afternoon hours. Wonderful, friendly, accurate, service with normal wait times. Tasty food. Full sized Potato Wedges servings (unlike another post), chicken is not greasy like KFC, etc. This location is always clean and the people are always very nice and helpful. Either there is a split personality going on at this location when the late shift arrives or maybe some customers just have bad karma that they bring wherever they go. Or maybe they work for a competitor and regret all the lost business to this Royal Farms since it was built within the last couple years. I have complained countless times about this particular Royal Farms. The employees are always nowhere to be found.. and usually only 1 at the register. The food is horrible - from what I've purchased it looks and feels like it's sat out for days at a time. The management doesn't give a shit & their ignorance is unbelievable. The only reason I've gone there so many times and "dealt" with this crap is because it's convenient. My last issue happened last week when I went in to cash a lottery ticket I bought from there. I stood in the same spot that I have stood in for the past 4-5 years and there has never been an issue. There were about 3 people in line, then about another 4, then there was about 9.. And as the people kept getting checked out, I got ignored. Now mind you, for the past few years employees and management told people that were getting Lottery to stand by the lottery tickets. That has been the lottery line since that place opened. The young lady that was handling the food, stopped what she was doing walked over towards the registers and yelled over to me " do you need Lottery?" I responded with yes. She responded with " well you're not in a line, the line is over there (and pointed).. I told her this is where I've been standing since before she worked there. She got an attitude with me and the manager came over and asked if there was a problem.. I said "yes I'm standing in this line watching person after person get taken care of and I'm getting ignored" .....Now I don't mind waiting, but when I feel that it's personal I have a problem. He looked at me and said "that's never been the lottery line".. I said how long have you worked here.. He said "only a couple months".. I said then you don't know if it's been the lottery line because you only worked here for 5 minutes. I said that has been the lottery line for almost 5 years.. And then the people that were standing in the line agreed with me but at that point I was so pissed off I grabbed my stuff and said I'd never be back. This Royal Farms either needs to be shut down or completely re-booted from the inside.. The people that work here could care less.. There are people out there that actually want jobs that will work hard for their money. read more

I went in one night around 11 pm on a Friday night to purchase some snacks. I went and grabbed my self a basket and went about picking out a handful of tasty foods and drink. I purchased quite a few things and as I finished placing all of my items on the counter I proceeded to walk 5 ft away to put away my basket. I returned and paid for my goods that had since all been bagged. I paid for said goods and left. Counter top was empty when I finished paying so I assumed all my items had been placed in my bag. When I returned home and unpacked my items I noticed 2 things missing that I had paid for. I went out and looked in my car to see if they had fallen out of my bag. They were not in my car. Do not leave items you are purchasing out of site. I will be returning in the morning to speak with a manager and inquire and see if employee "forgot to put them in my bag" or "accidently dropped to floor." I wish I was rich enough to not care about 5 bucks but I work hard for my money and I do not have alot of it. And if employees are stealing customers items I want management to be aware there may be a problem. read more
