We've gotten food from here multiple times and always had a great experience. The food has always been absolutely delicious and their spice scale is actually accurate and you can tell the difference between a level 5 and level 7. The customer service is wonderful as well - the last time we picked up food to go, they accidentally gave us the wrong naan bread and the waiter chased down our car in the parking lot to correct the order. Went for lunch today. Started with Keema Samosa which were just the right spice and very good. Then ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and Shrimp Curry. Both were very yummy. Came with rice with peas. I would give them 0 stars if possible. The worst of the service I have had at an Indian restaurant. First of all, they sat us right next to the kitchen even when the restaurant was bit empty. And there was a server who kept yelling at everyone inside the kitchen so it was pretty loud and noisy. (not a fine dine-in experience) The waiter didn't take our order for 15 mins and even after he did, we had to wait for our appetizers for about an hour. We did get our order but they forgot our appetizers. So we had to ask multiple times to bring out the right orders. Avoid at all costs. read more

We just ordered chicken biryani and got chicken curry mixed with rice and some chopped onions with a slice of lemon on side LITERALLY!! This is the worst BIRYANI I ever had.. They should title the dish as chicken curry mixed with rice because it ain't BIRYANI for sure. read more

Visiting for a few days from out of town, ate here twice. First time dal makhani and biryani and apps were great. Gajar halwa, though, was a solid at room temperature lol. A little too much butter, but nothing a microwave and some soy milk couldn't fix. Second time- Saag Paneer was way too greasy, there was a slight taste undertone of the pan, like grease or slightly burnt or something. The paneer was perfect tho. Restaurant is located in a mall and over in a corner so it isn't very visible from the main road, but there is plenty of parking and the place is quite large and clean inside. The food and service are top notch here!!! Been here twice now, and it has become our go to when we are in town. The Butter Chicken is AMAZING. I get hungry just thinking about it. Nan and Lamb Vindaloo are also super! All the dishes are tasty and very flavorful. We can eat pretty spicy food but we order the medium spicy, and is perfect, not really spicy, but a little kick, but lots of great flavor. Terrific food! Love this place. read more

I'm not having dirty dreams about tikka masala! You are! ... okay, I am. It's me. But damnit you can't blame me! It's just so good! My fiance and I ordered for pickup for the 3rd time the other day, chicken tikka masala at a 4 spicy and chicken yellow curry at a 2. We had to flip a coin for who would get the tikka masala as leftovers for lunch the following day so that it didn't ruin our relationship. This is marriage ending tikka masala, people. I have yet to dine in their actual establishment. Someday I will, because I'm going to be eating their food a lot. The. Freaking. Bomb.! We have been wanting to try this place for a long time, but haven't been on that end of Reno in a while. My son's birthday was 3/2 and his request was to eat Indian Food and go to Coconut Bowl. His request gave us an excuse to go here and mannnnnnnnn am I ever glad we did! Any Indian cuisine lover knows that naan accounts for at least 50% of all decision making in determining whether a place is worth returning to... the Naan is to DIE FOR. Perfectly puffy, buttery, warm, goodness! The staff so so accommodating. I love that they place water on your table and don't pressure you to spend more money on drinks by offering soft drinks or juices. In fact, "other drinks" was never even brought up. I couldn't even tell you if they serve soda, but considering it's a must have for some, I'm sure they do. We had a party of 13 and they didn't miss a beat! Refill water kept coming. We walked in around 2:45pm, just 15 minutes before their buffet closed, but they agreed to KEEP THE BUFFET OPEN FOR ALL OF US and refilled any meats we wanted. This place tops the chart on customer service and accommodations. Just wow! I'm so utterly impressed and happily writing this review that I actually feel like driving out there right now just to thank them (and of course eat more of their DELICIOUS FOOD)! I will go back! I can't wait until my mom visits from California so I can take her to eat her favorite food at the BEST PLACE IN RENO, hands down! I've been a huge fan of Indian cuisine for years. My favorite Indian restaurant in the world has always been Shalimar in San Francisco. I sometimes drive to San Francisco just to have lunch at Shalimar. Well? Royal India has now tied with Shalimar in my favorites list. I couldn't stop eating. The food is so good, I'm going to order some, freeze it, and send it to my mom. Sorry "India Kabab & Curry." Your food is really good, but Royal India has you beat. We went for dinner a few weeks ago. I'm a bit conflicted how to rate this, because this place is seemingly known for their lunch buffet. For a lunch buffet at 10 dollars a person, this is probably 4 or 4.5, but for dinner which ran 20 dollars a person, it's probably 3 to 3.5. We had the vindaloo, biryani, tikka masala, paneer, samosas, and some naan. We shared a bunch of each, and I just thought the flavor of the dishes was just too generic, kind of like they used the same base for all of the curry dishes and maybe just added a few things at the end. The naan and the samosas were tasty, and the other dishes weren't bad, they just tasted like something I could make at home. Service was great, and everyone was friendly. Will definitely try again for the lunch buffet, but probably wouldn't recommend going here for a la carte. read more

I always get the veggie samosas and they provide 3 different dipping sauce options which I think is very generous for delivery.
