His office is located in a business type building on the 7th floor, once you get off the elevator take a left through the door and his office is on the left side. After presenting the items he uses his machine to determine if it real or fake gold and how many carat it is. After a quick and efficient process I got my money and it took only about 15 minutes overall. After the transaction was finish Steven was nice enough to give me a box of chocolate which was gold in color to represent " gold" funny enough xD. Poor service and workmanship on a wedding band repair…read more I brought in two rings for repair after it was cut in half. One was a thin eternity diamond band. Within one week of the repair, 3 diamonds fell off the band. I called immediately and they asked me to bring it back in. When I brought it back in, I received no apology or accountability. They said the diamonds fell off due to wear on the ring, and it had nothing to do with their work. They also said that because the ring was cut off, it would never be the same and this will continue to happen. If I had known that, I wouldn't have paid $350 to repair the ring to begin with. They initially tried to charge me for the repair, but begrudgingly agreed to repair it "just this once" at no cost. When I received the ring for the second time, there is still a gap between diamonds, to which they said, "that's where it was cut and that's how it will look. It's not due to our work." I would have appreciated and - quite frankly, expected a respected jeweler - to tell me that before I went through the repair process. While I stood on the porch, he paid me what he quoted me. That was that. Other than Google maps blowing a gasket on finding the place (it directs you all over hell and yon, basically you could come in on a main road and make two turns and be there - some railroad bridges and god knows what else results in Google Maps losing a screw) everything went smoothly. Gaithersburg Coin Exchange is not perfect, but they are good. Per what other people have mentioned - I imagine that if you bring a bad attitude you will leave with a worse one and nothing changed in your pockets.
