I am so so so happy to have found Royal Nails. I am a recent transplant to Denver from NYC, so finding Nga (owner and amazing nail tech) was a big deal for me. Nga and Henry own this shop and they are lovely. Not only do the provide the BEST acrylics I've ever had, they are sooooo nice and friendly. I get compliments all the time on my nails - I always get nude natural looking colors, so this is a testament to Nga's skill set. The reason I gave 3 stars is because the paint on my toes began to chip right away and my cuticles on my hands were cut a bit too deep - nothing major. 2-3 bubbles appeared on my gel polish manicure. Again, my experience was good, but perhaps the quality of polish should be reviewed at the shop. _______________ This is a no-frills kind of place, meaning that the decor and equipment is not upscale or fancy, but it gets the simple jobs done which is exactly what I was looking for. I asked for a simple gel manicure and normal paint pedicure - one color, no designs, very simple i'm pleased with the outcome of my nails and considering it's the city i think $60 total was a relatively affordable price. I had a full set put on and then a rebase done with two different staff members and both were great! I also got a gel pedicure done and really liked it. The first set was gel and the second was dip. They did a great job matching photos of what I wanted and asking me along the way if I liked it. They are really busy and my members had to get up a few times to help other customers despite me having appointments, but overall they were nice. read more

I feel like I was robbed of an enjoyable salon experience and then was robbed from the grossly overpriced service. I got a shellac pedicure and a no frills, no polish manicure and was charged $62. My calf massage was cut short by a call on my beautician's smart wrist watch. She took the call and completely forgot that she had only just barely touched my left calf. Next, I got my "manicure" which took less than 5 minutes and even less attention because my beautician was busy looking at the door. Talk about convenience! Facility & Services: average time, below average decor, and above average pricing. BUT coming from a girl who rarely gets her nails manicured: it gets the job done! (and I personally do not understand the rave on gel sets, by the way!) One downside is that the technicians do not seem well-versed in customer service standards are. I usually find comfort in getting to know my technician by asking for their opinions during the manicure. Not only did my technician not seem to understand the request - which is rare - but he also opted not to answer the times he did understand! Kind of strange. In summary... Really, I should have known better by the stench of chemicals when I walked in that something wasn't right. Whomever this woman was doing my nails, she either has zero command of the English language, wasn't listening or didn't care. She was rushing through my foot so much that it was actually hurting me until I asked her to stop. Then, she tells me that my heels need scrubbing and I tell her that this is why I am here. She proceeds to use some soft brush on it that will do zero good to me. I get my feet done on a weekly basis, I think I'm pretty used to the routine and this was certainly not right. So she hands me some menu 10 minutes into the job and I just say: Just fix my heels, this is why I'm here. Nope, not understanding. Lets face it...white people just can't get it right when it comes to nails. They charge too much and do a job that never lasts. I neither asked for gel, nor was I aware of the price (which was my fault) but they charged me for gel when I never asked for it. T did my pink and whites, and they're absolutely perfect! I'm on the picky side, so when my coworker recommended Royal Nails, I considered first that hers are done well. We got in right away during lunch, and the atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming. My nails are the perfect thickness, shape, and most importantly (to me) pink:white ratio. It is in a great location with plenty of parking and is reasonably priced for downtown. Positives- there was no wait at all, however I went during lunch on a Tuesday. It is very quite and they have an excellent selection of polishes and services. Seems fairly clean. Negatives- the staff was not super friendly or welcoming. It was advertised for an extended massage with this service however that was not provided. Don't expect any frills like a drink! Recommendations- get a lower level pedicure, the woman next to me got the basic and it seemed to include everything from the mid level pedicure. So I searched and searched on Yelp for a good salon, and read all the reviews and it was really hard to find one since people had both the worst and the best experience. Then read how people got a fungus or whatever, and my friends say that their fingernails really hurt and it will be hard to do things, so that made me worried. It took me a while to finally go to a nail salon, Royal Nails is actually really close to my house, so that is convienent for me, so I went with my cousin cause she needed to rebase her nails, it was a slow day and there was no one there so we got help really fast, that place didn't smell like I thought it would. I got Henry and my cousin got another lady maybe it's his wife not sure, but his english is really good, so I told him this was my first time and he was very nice, he worked pretty fast. He cut my nails really good, I don't like other people cutting my nails but he was good. He put the acrylics on and all that other stuff, he didn't really talk much which was fine cause I wanted him to concentrate on my nails, he worked really fast and they came out so good!!!!! I love them so much!!!!! Even though it took him like 30 minutes to do it, they came out great and my cousins nails came out great as well!!!!!!!!!! This place doesn't look like much, but they do a great job, this lady came for a pedicure and the girl that was working on her was really nice! This place sucks! I had a mani and a pedi - she cut my finger, left all kinds of edges on my nails. Didn't remove calloused skin from my fingers and rushed the hell out of it. Not a fan. I went in to get a regular manicure and was pretty underwhelmed. I wanted an opaque nude color and usually have no problem finding something. The only one they had was translucent. Overall the color selection was lacking. The service was very quick. I love to get in and out but in this case the quality was very poor. There was no reason to rush as I was the only person there with three people working. Another review mentioned that his nails were cut unevenly with ridges. I also had this happen and the shape was lopsided on a few nails. By the time I was home my thumb had chipped a bit even though I was VERY careful. On the brighter side, the staff was pleasant (kind of quiet) and the price was fine as well. If you are desperate, you could do worse, but be prepared for a lower quality manicure. read more

Uhhhh... Worst nails ever! Granted, I wanted to change my color from darker to lighter, which I know can be challenging if they are not prepared to take off all the old color which seems to be the case in most places around here. Well, this guy did not voice any opinion on it being a problem, so he did my new nails on top of still most of the darker stuff left there and now I have random dark purple spots showing both through the new color and under my nails.. He realized it looked bad and started trying to get the old color off from UNDER my nails. That resulted in my own nails being super short and uncomfortable underneath and STILL the old color showing. Also the place was dirty and did not have any vacuums to suck in the dust so I felt like I was breathing nail dust the whole time.. Gotta go find a place that will fix these terrible nails for me :( read more

The bad reviews on this place are really surprising to me. I love Royal Nails. I went in today and was out within 30 minutes with the best gel manicure I've had in Denver. Na was super quick, filed the perfect shape, cleaned up my cuticles really nicely, and the polish looks great. Someone wrote that they don't have a lot of gel colors but I was actually really surprised at how many colors they did have (at least 4 or 5 wheels of colors with 10 colors on each wheel....) oh and did I mention it was only 26 bucks?! Na is the best, she does an awesome job every time. I do a little bit of an almond and stiletto and she never disappoints me! Everyone is really nice, for some customers a lot of polish colors are of importance, but for me I use my own so I have no complaints. You cant beat $14 re-base/fills and a perfect shape! I usually make an appointment just to be sure, but walk-in's are not bad at all. Summer can get a little busy though. read more

I've been going here for years, I don't go anymore because they used to be the only place I would go and they would do so good and do the designs how I like them and they were decent in pricing. Now they charge for everything and SUCK! They rush through a full set; leave nail polish on the side of your fingers and they nails just look sideways and gross. I have been going to Royal Nails on and off over the years and they have never done a bad job. When I recently went to a different salon and found myself bleeding a little too much from a few too many places on my hands in the first 10 minutes of the manicure, I excused myself from the salon and sped (sorry, Mom) over to Royal Nails to get in there before they closed to salvage my manicure. They took me in even though it was nearly closing time and fixed up the other salon's whack job on my hands. They also only charged me for a polish application. These people do a very good job on nails and toes and are honest business people. Sometimes they don't focus very much on hand or foot massage during your service, which is something a lot of people look for when choosing a nail salon. They are so reliably and consistently good, and I've found their manicures to be the longest lasting that I am giving them 4 stars. read more

The pedicures start at $20 but you get what you pay for. It was the fastest pedicure I've ever had and my feet are still VERY rough. I regret tipping and I'm not back. Its too bad cause I work close and this could have been a regular place for me. The employee never tried greeted me and never asked if I'd been there before or how I found them. She did not engage me at all during my visit. In fact, when she cut my toenail - she has cut my skin too and I pulled back and said ouch. She never said sorry.
