Passing through New England on vacation, staying now in Vermont. Since I'll be moving on to my next destination in a week, I wanted to have my nails done. This gel manicure looks like I did it myself. OMG, it's awful! I did what I could at home to clean it up a bit, but it still looks entirely unprofessional, if not as ragged. She didn't even bother to file my nails straight! Looking at the other reviews, I have to wonder if she's even licensed! I'm glad I chose not to get tips! The pedicure done by the man there was much better. I tipped $20 for both, but should only have tipped him. $45 wasted! I'll have to get these redone elsewhere next week. And, by the way, it's rude to speak to one another in Chinese. We don't know what you're saying. For all we know, you're telling your co-worker that you don't intend to do a decent job. After asking me if I was local, you probably were! No, I'm not a local; but locals, I advise to go elsewhere. read more

Visiting some family in Vermont I needed a place to touch up my gel manicure and pedicure in a pinch and Royal Nails came through for me. Very attentive service, clean, and friendly. I'm disappointed to see negative reviews but they seem fake or like from competing businesses in the area. Definitely a good experience for me and I'm happy to support this local business. read more

I should have listened to my intuition when I was the only one there. I got gel tips and it took her 2-1/2 hours. I've had 4 nails pop off within 24 hours. (because she didn't let the gel curate long enough). I called and reported the issue and asked for a refund and willingness to submit pictures. He declined and hung up on me. They are also overpriced and I now have to go pay a different salon to fix them. DONT GO HERE! read more

At first i was a little sketched out bc there was nobody in there except for a worker. She started doing my gel nails with tips and... OUCH! I'm in so much pain! The drill cut my fingers and she kept going over the same spots. I got them done 3 hours ago and my fingers are throbbing. My nails are different lengths and crooked. My mother and I came here after our normal nail salon was closed. Possibly the worst experience I have ever had at a nail salon. I waited two hours after the time of our actual reservation and when the guy started with my nails, he sanded them down so much more than they needed to be. He then handed them off to the woman who proceeded to sand and file them down until they felt paper thin before painting them extremely unevenly. While all of this was happening, the guy went on some weird rant about how my mother and father would take care of me until i was married off, at which point i would have to take care of a hypothetical husband and son. This made me visibly uncomfortable as i am fourteen (he knew this because of an earlier conversation) and a lesbian. Neither me nor my mother will ever be coming back here and i hope that no one else has to have an experience like this in the future. read more

This pedicure was very disappointing. The nails were barely filed and didn't match. The pedicurist clipped cuticle on both big toes making them bleed. She staunched one with a lot of stinging fluid and then put it back in the foot bath! Barely any skin softening for callouses or massage that lasted more than 12 seconds for each movement. She was not into her task except in the most careless and quick way which was odd because there was no one else in the shop. Will not go back. read more

Without a doubt, Royal Nails is the best place to go for nail treatments! It is clean, friendly and they utilize OPI polishes, which is a line that has a huge range of fun, vibrant colors. Their pedicures seem to last longer than anywhere else I have been, which is always a plus. My sister and I went the week that they first opened and - surprise, surprise - they still remember our names! The price is comparable with other pedicures in this area and it's worth it! read more

I have had pedicures at a lot of different nail salons, and Royal Nails is by far the best. They give the best leg/foot massage, including usage of hot stones, and the way they apply the polish causes it to last for 3 weeks to a month while still looking fresh. I am usually only forced to remove the polish because my nails are growing out! The staff is very friendly, providing excellent customer service, and they are always willing to take walk-ins. One piece of advice--make sure to bring cash for tipping, as you cannot tip on your credit card. Possibly the worst mani/pedi I have ever had. The pedicure water was cool, never turned on the jets. Tech did not speak English , had to ask twice to have toenails cut shorter. When we got to the manicure she brought over a dish with water , but never had me soak nails. Did not remove polish till just before she was ready for new polish. Many of the edges were ragged, had to ask her to fix. Did not apply polish on many of the sides, had to ask her to fix. Finally asked another tech to apply polish to sides of ring fingers . Finished job did not have a smooth just manicured look. If I had been going out would have to have gone somewhere else to have them redone. Hopefully I can try to salvage it for a few days with a new coat of top coat. read more

We went in and Hong told us he could do our pedis but we sat with our feet in water for 45 mins and it got cold. The gel stuff doesn't feel good when it's cold. They we got pedi's one at a time! It took forever! We were there for 2 hours. Then I was charged $76 for two pedicures. They say a pedi is $30 for a regular one and $45 for a spa. He didn't ask me which one i wanted. Either way, i was either under charged for Spa ones or over charged for Regular ones! Hong kept leaving to go to smoke a cigarette or answer his phone. HORRIBLE! I AM IN PAIN. I got my nails done here specifically for a design because a friend recommended it to me. I usually go somewhere else but they don't do designs that well... I got a fill here and she grinded my nails down so thin it hurt. I told her I wanted them thick. I asked her in advance if she could do the design I wanted yeah I can do that... She could not do that at all! She said I can only do one color? What? My nails actually look terrible... Nothing like the picture at all. ON TOP OF THAT I QUITE LITERALLY TURNED THE LIGHT ON IN MY CAR AND IT SNAPPED AND BROKE MY CUTICLE (in half) AND THE NAIL. I AM BLEEDING. THE VERY NEXT DAY! The underneath of my nail is bleeding and swollen. My finger is throbbing. I went in the next day after a very painful day or working on my computer. She grinds my nail down again and fills it in thick as hell. I mean this nail looks outrageous compared to the other ones... I asked her if she could do my nails and make them thicker. Nope only one! Not only does it still hurt underneath my nail (Still blood under it)... She took skin off the bottom of my nail so I am still currently bleeding... I DO NOT RECOMMEND COMING HERE AT ALL 50 DOLLARS FOR A FILL! THAT DOESN'T LOOK GOOD OR FEEL GOOD. read more

I've been to all of the nail places around here from Williston to burlington, hung duc at royal nails is amazing he actually cares about my nails and will take as long as it takes to care for them, he's very clean and thorough, he never gets gel in my cuticles, and now my nails are long and healthy, his staff is always nice, he can always get me in the next day, he fills up fast so appointments are necessary, only charges $35 for a gel fill which other places charge more, he's never messed up on my nails so I'm loyal. read more

I have been to most of the nail salons in the essex/ williston area, and I can honestly say that Royal Nails is THE BEST! Always very clean and on time. The owner is very nice and always remembers my name. Their prices are very reasonable and they take time to give you the best service. I always call ahead either that week or day, because they can be busy in the afternoons and weekends. read more

I got a pedicure here with my mom and they did a really nice job. It was very clean and they had a lot of color choices. My technician did a good job but seemed like she didn't speak the best English. My moms technician didn't do quite as a nice a job but spoke better English. I would recommend this place to a friend. I had great results from the pedicure I had but I felt harassed the whole time I was there. Hung came at me 3 separate times about how awful my gel nails are (he does only powder dip nails), told me the ridges in my toenails (that I've had my whole life) mean I'm probably having issues with my liver so I should see a doctor (he stopped pressing that opinion on me that after I told him I work in dermatology), made me sit there drying for 45 minutes (45!! - I think it was because he was working on someone's nails and didn't want to get up to take my payment - I was SO sore sitting there for that long with my feet up), was not pleased that I didn't have cash for a tip (he basically asked for a tip) and told me the next time I needed to get there earlier than I did so I would have time to go to the bathroom first (not that I even asked to use his bathroom and I arrived for my appointment on time). He also charged a woman $10 more than the usual cost because she left her nails long and when she questioned him about it he dropped it down $5. The young man who did most of the pedicure kept pausing to stare out the window. I really didn't like the staff or the experience; it left me feeling anxious, not relaxed like it should have. read more

I have not visited all the nail salons in the area but it is the 4th place I have been to. By far, this salon exceeds the customer service and quality of nail treatment of all the ones I have been to. First, I could understand the manicurist and he spoke to me rather than his co-workers. His name is Hong. Second, he wasn't constantly speaking to other employees in his first language or (which I think is exceedingly rude to banter the entire visit because it excludes the customer). I have gone several times and sent friends to Royal Nails. Recently, I was disappointed in a pedicure I had, as they skipped some steps when I had paid for "full" expensive pedicure. I let it go. But on Father's Day I sent my husband and for the "full" pedicure with gel soak, it was $53. My husband came home and his nails looked ragged and not well manicured, and he told me that they skipped out on several steps he saw others getting (filing of the heel, etc). I called to see if they would help make it right and although the first lady was super nice, Hong called and wanted my husband to stop back in before he did anything. With full time work, 2 kids (including 1 newborn) that wasn't possible in the time-frame he wanted. So he said I could send pictures. I took the pictures the day after (as Hong requested) and texted them to him. But as it had been a few days he said, "The picture is after 4 day I can't doing what you at". I explained that the pictures were DATE STAMPED, so there was no delay, and he never responded and has made no effort to clear this up. My family and friends that I had sent there will no longer be going. I feel very strongly that I tried my best to resolve this, and he was downright rude and then completely non-responsive. I have also heard him make inappropriate comments to women. We will definitely take our business elsewhere! read more
