I wish I could say the food was as good as the aroma an what we saw other patrons had on their table but that was not to be. We arrived ~630 to a very light crowd 3 four tops eating and a 2 top placing their order. The waiter left us standing in the doorway for quite a while without acknowledging we were there. He then sat us with menus and told us it was going to be 20 minutes before we would get food, OK. Four more came in, they were told 30 minutes, and were seated in the back, three more were then told 45 to 1 hour so they left. Meanwhile 10 minutes have gone completely ignoring us, finally we got his attention and asked for a beverage while we were waiting, he literally turned his back and walked away! Not a word! At that point the four folks that were seated after us gave up and left. Meanwhile several pick up orders were given to folks. We again tried to engage the waiter to ask if we could get a beverage, he again turned his back and started to walk away, so we asked him if he just wanted us to leave, he turned around shook his head waved his hands and vanished into the kitchen. Wow. We really wanted to try this place and were willing to wait it out with a bev and appetizer but we ended up leaving after a half hour. We understand things happen, but that is no excuse for the total lack of polite communication and complete disregard for patrons that ​we experienced. It was like an episode of Fawlty towers! We were trying to guess if they ran out of food or the chef walked out on dinner service! To be clear, I can't remember the last time I left a negative review for an establishment, and while I can't comment on the fare, if there was a negative number for the service - ​I'd give it. read more

We stopped in on the way home on a whim and felt like some Indian cuisine. What a pleasant surprise! What great flavors, nice ambiance and the server was very attentive and respectful. We loved the amount of spice (medium) and the portion sizes were good. Plan to come back for the weekend buffet and bring our friends. Looking forward to another amazing meal at a reasonable price. After reading a few positive reviews about this new Indian restaurant I decided to try the weekend only,$19 per person buffet. The buffet runs from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm. I went around 1:00 pm which I felt would be a safe time to try a buffett. My experience was not good. I found that with the exception of one entree I tried on the buffet, everything was cold (should have been served hot). The fried spring roll and another fried dish was cold and hard. I was so turned off by the food, I couldn't even eat it. In fact I ate only a bite of a few things. I told the waiter the food was cold and he said cold... went up to the buffett trying to light burners that were under the food. I was not offered anything, no other food options no accomodations for the poor food, nothing. I was merely given the $19 bill to pay at the end of the meal. Needless to say, I will never eat at this restaurant again, nor would l ever recommend it. In fact , if this restaurant doesn't improve things, I don't think they will ever survive. read more

Stumbled upon a new gem in historic downtown Cocoa Village: Royal Peacock Indian Kitchen (in the space formerly known as Murdock's). We shared a Samosa appetizer, smooth in flavor and texture, perfectly spiced and fried to flaky perfection. We followed that with Saag Goat and Chicken Tikka Masala. The Saag Goat was perfect - the meat juicy and soft, the spinach sauce perfectly seasoned and the rice light and fluffy. The Chicken Tikka Masala was wonderful - delightfully spicy and earthy in flavor, the sauce smooth, smoky and slightly spicy. The service was formal yet friendly and relaxed. Raji and staff tended to us in a timely and inviting manner - our drinks never went below half full, appetizer and meals were at our table within 10 minutes of ordering. We're told there's a buffet Saturdays and Sundays and they also serve breakfast. Can't wait to get a taste! This is going on our Top-5 Favorite list! We just catered from Royal Peacock. I came to pick up food, got my food and came home. An hour or so later received a phone call from them... They called to see if the could send a driver to deliver my Veg. Pulao. There had to be some confusion as I had already picked up Pulao. Vas the manager said that we have a new batch made as the last batch they gave me was a bit salty. They came and delivered another 1/2 tray of Veg. Out of the 5 indian restaurants in the Bradenton/Sarasota area this ranks 4th or 5th place. The food was good, but the service was seriously lacking. They are not built for a high influx of customers, had us seated and waited for 20 minutes before taking our drink orders. The ambiance is a mom&pop spot, if you want to get in grab a good bite and get out. I would check it out again. But definitely will come during off housr. read more

Fantastic Masala Dosa! I haven't had Dosa this good since dining in Edison NJ. It was crispy, spicy, and flavorful. Service was very fast, ambience was pleasant. Dosa is a South Indian staple. It is a Gluten free thin crispy large pancake, rolled around a filling. The pancake is made from rice and lentil using sourdough fermentation. It is crispy, chewy, and flavorful, and IMHO the best gluten free bread. Masala dosa has a spicy potato filling. It is served with two kinds of Chutney, and a small bowl of Sambar ( spicy vegetable soup). You break off pieces of the dosa and dip them in the chutney. I can't wait to go back, and try other Indian delicacies, at this most authentic restaurant. read more

I used to come here nearly every week. This last time, my lobster butter masala tasted off, like the lobster was beginning to go bad. Of course I sent it back because I did not want to risk getting sick then I ordered the spinach palak, which I have ordered many times here and in other Indian restaurants, so I know what it is supposed to taste like it look like. This batch looks like it had been blended to a purée in a blender, and had no flavor whatsoever. It looked like split pea soup, so, one dish that was going bad that could've made me ill, and the other one just blame like baby food, and that did it for me, whoever's in the kitchen does not know what they're doing, this used to be a great place but now it's just unrecognizableand I will not be back. read more

We were very unhappy. The sign said "Weekend Buffet" 11:00 to 3:00. This was stated online (Yelp) on a sign proudly displayed up front and on the chalkboard outside. We had been birding at Celery Fields. Before we left home we checked the times for the buffet so we would be there on time. When we got there, we happily greeted our hosts, were delighted to try this new Indian place! We sat down ordered glasses of wine, while I was in the restroom they took the entire buffet away. It was 2:45. When I saw it was gone I confronted them about the time and they simply did not care. They were done, no buffet, all gone. The food we ordered by individual entrée was okay (more expensive of course) but their absolute indifference to our complaints simply ruined any good will we had for them. Advertise properly. Finally made it over for dinner a few weeks ago and everything was amazing. For someone who does not know the different Indian foods it might be difficult navigating the menu. Luckily we talked to a couple that eats here every week. They had great recommendations and advice on ordering. They do serve beer and wine which the waiter didn't tell us or bring a drink menu, but we had seen the couple next to us get wine, Thats how we learned. It is a place you need to try and then go back and try new things. They have a lot of pickup orders as the night goes on so they stay busy! I had the Lamb Roast Biryani and Chai for lunch. The service is very courteous and fast. The food was awesome! I liked the music choice. I'm sad to report that the quality of food has severely diminished from a year ago. A year ago you could tell that the restaurant was using quality ingredients however the last two times I have visited, the ingredients lacked in quality. The butter chicken had absolutely no flavor and the chicken was overcooked as if it was made earlier in the day and warmed-up before serving. I've given this restaurant three chances now and there will not be a fourth. There are many other delicious Indian restaurants in the area and they will receive my business. Side note: There was only one table of people at the restaurant when I went to pick up my to go order (during the "dinner rush" time). The employee working grabbed my food and I was checking out when he completely stopped what he was doing and took a lengthy phone call where the customer was placing a to go order over the phone. read more

What an awesome first experience trying Indian cuisine! The Royal Peacock certainly exceeded my expectations. The food was exceptional, the ambience was surprisingly contemporary casual, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Being newbies, we were educated by the server about various spices, savory sauces, and traditional Indian cuisine. We tried several menu items including the delicious coconut chicken curry and the garlic naan bread. The couple next to us heard our server explaining menu choices to us and brought over a sample of the food they had ordered. Wow!
