I came during lunch time as the heat wave was hitting SD. Finally had a chance to try it out. Plenty of parking and interior is cute. I asked for the jasmine iced tea with guava flavoring. Luckily, when the worker entered the item, it showed me on the screen and noticed it said passion fruit. I corrected her and she adjusted it. I added boba and when I got the drink it was filled with a lot of boba. The boba was nice and chewy. The drink, however, was overy sweet for me. It didn't really seem like a iced tea to me. More like a slush consistency. Except there was literally 1 tiny ice in there. That was very disappointing. I didn't ask for no ice or light ice. I enjoy majority of my drinks cold, especially on that hot afternoon. It tasted like a fructose kind of sweet, which I am not a fan of. Really sad to return to work and drink it room temp basically. I don't think I will be going back. The ice would've helped but the overpowering sweetness still was too much for me.

What is going on here? The photos of the inside of this establishment are not accurate at all. Feel a bit tricked by what I expected based on photos and reviews because it didn't match my experience at all. If my drink was good the review would reflect that but it wasn't. Boba was too chewy & tea wasn't good.

Delicious Vietnamese Coffee-

Cutest Little Tea Shop, has an Eclectic Personality All of Its Own They great You with a Beautiful Smile as soon as you come in... but the real stars of the Show are the variety of different tea's and smoothies! I had the Vietnamese Coffee a couple times now & you can request it with or without Bobas. It's deliciously strong & robust in coffee flavor just like it's suppose to be! My hubby had the strawberry smoothie which was also very delicious & full of flavor! The cherry on top is that it connects to Royal Pho & you can order any of their drinks with your dinner.

Lychee, Peach, Passionfruit Jasmine Tea & Rose Milk Tea

Great service and teas. Been looking for a strong Jasmine Tea and this place delivers! The Rose Milk Tea was perfectly sweet, someone knows how to brew tea to the tee here. They are connected with the Pho restaurant next door--It's quite aesthetic inside with nice wood furnishings!

Super yummy and a very generous size for price.

Super yummy and a very generous size for price. Service is very quick and friendly. Such a great addition to lemon grove.

We were looking for a boba place around my husbands new shop and our girls were so excited to find one down the street in Lemon Grove. This cute tea place is right off the 94 easy access , plenty of parking , they're menu was easy to read and everything sounded delicious we went for taro smoothie with boba , I've had really expensive boba at the mall and they're double the price but worth buying because they're delicious BUT this place has great prices and it taste as good or even better !!! The place is perfect for a boba date and decorated to perfection seems like it's family owned and the owners are so sweet and attentive .. it was pretty busy so that says a lot about a place of business . I'll definitely come back every time I'm visiting the area ! Great job ! you guys are killin with the boba !!!!!!!

Honey black milk tea with boba and peach green tea with boba

Randomly saw this while passing the area and decided to swing by! It's connected to the pho restaurant next door, so I was a bit sketched out since I knew the pho place doesn't have the greatest of reviews. We ordered a honey black milk tea with boba and a peach green tea with boba. There was only one person who was staffed, meaning she doubled as our barista and cashier. The wait time was about 10-15 minutes, which was understandable since there was only one person working. I ordered the honey black milk tea with 75% sugar and that ended up being the perfect amount of sweetness. Both of the drinks were good! The boba was also good - it had a nice bite/texture and honey coating. Definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

Service was great, the lady on the counter was patient as we figured out what we wanted. The smoothies were delicious, full of flavor and the popping pearls burst in your mouth. It was a real treat. It's joined with the pho place in case you're hungry and want to grab a bite too. It's a really cute store, very boho vibe. We absolutely love coming here.

My son and I were out by Lemon Grove going to Sam's Club when he said he was craving boba. I remembered noticing this place from the road before, so we detoured over to try it out. Their menu wasn't huge, but had a really nice variety of different drinks. My son decided to order a classic black milk tea with boba, his standard test drink at a new place, and I got a rose milk tea, no boba. When my drink came out, it looked so pretty and pink, especially with the little heart stopper on top. It also tasted delicious. My son said his drink was really good and he was happy with the quality of the boba. At $4.95 for the tea, plus $.75 for boba, the prices are good. We are planning to head back this weekend!

I've visited this establishment several times now, and each experience has been outstanding. The quality of both the food and drinks and service is consistently top-notch. I especially love their boba drinks - the flavors are always spot on, and the tapioca pearls are perfectly chewy every time. Whether it's a busy time or a quiet moment, the staff are always quick, efficient, and approachable. I love this place has became my new boba spot !!!

I love boba and am very picky about my boba. I was looking for a lowkey, nearby boba spot and this had good reviews on Google and Yelp. I got a classic black milk tea with boba with 75% sugar and less ice as a standard item to judge Royal Pearl Tea by. It was $6.14, not a bad price but more expensive than I expected as another recent review stated their drink was around $5. The boba was on the firm and chewy side, there certainly was less ice in the drink, and the milk tea was creamy without being overly milky or sweet. I ordered 75% sweetness but it tasted like many other shops' 100% sweetness. The black milk tea was average, not a strong tea flavor or milk flavor. I'd rate the drink a 6.5/10. Royal Pearl Tea excelled in friendliness and atmosphere. The woman at the counter was very nice and even came over and handed my drink to me personally while I was standing farther from the counter by the tables. There are many clean tables and some older but still clean chairs to sit in. This could be a great study spot, though I only spotted a couple of available outlets for those with laptops. The shop is connected to Pho Royal so I saw a few customers picking up takeout from the restaurant and boba at the same time. While the boba wasn't outstanding, I would come back to try another drink or two. I liked their broad menu options. I was especially intrigued that they offer honeydew milk tea, my favorite flavor that isn't common at many boba shops.

So good and so reasonably priced! That's really all there is to it; I 100% recommend this boba spot.

I was on my way to church and needed an early cup and was surprised how many shops were not open at 7 AM. I'm sure I could have found a Starbucks but that's always reserved for a last resort. Big props to this spot being open early on a Sunday morning, so I could make it to church prayed up and fully caffeinated. The barista opened right on time (7 AM) I loved how friendly she was for it being that early, and she got me my drink within 3-4 minutes. I am not a big coffee drive-thru guy, but if I lived in the area, especially knowing it is veteran owned, I might become one. Thanks guys and best of luck!

The la mesa latte was super yummy and while I'm not the biggest fan of cold foam on lattes this one was pleasantly good! I had also gotten a bagel with cream cheese which I don't believe was toasted and would say that was the only downside but the delicious amount of cream cheese definitely helped.

So far, I've tried the pandan, the brown sugar, and the sesame latte all iced w/ oat milk and they've all been a hit. It can get pretty busy so come early to prep. Seating: Chill plenty of seating both inside and outside. Good for small groups with room for about 30 people. Vibes: Welcome to Normal Heights nothing too flashy, just plenty of local eateries and businesses. The spot itself is relatively clean, modern, pretentious. I dig the 90s house music in the background. This seems to be a trusted neighborly coffee shop with students are working, friends are catching up, and regulars seem to know the staff by name. It helps there's a pizza shop next door as well. FOOD / DRINKS Cherie Amour (Recommend) Delish. A latte with housemade cherry and almond syrup, and if you get it iced, it comes topped with a little cold foam. I dig the sweetness and the fruitiness of the cherry, it balanced out the bitterness of the coffee which was pretty cool. CUSTOMER SERVICE Friendly and welcoming. Sara helped contribute to the neighborhood feel of the place and made the experience easy and enjoyable. TL;DR OVERALL 4.5 Stars. Good coffee, reasonable prices, and a pleasant atmosphere. I know there are plenty of coffeeshops in SD but this is a cool neighborly one. It doesnt seem like a trendy place but a place more in community and steady service. Till next time, Scrimshaw! They are connected with the business (Love Letters Pizza) next door with an arched wall. The interior has changed, they now have new seating and they painted the walls different color. The tables are a little wonky, but I appreciate the fake marble top they got on it. It looks classy from a far with the interior lighting. I sadly missed their May Special, Blueberry Malt Latte! I love anything malt, so sad it is already gone (it's June now lol). They dropped their summer specials on their Instagram and the first one looked incredible. This was their version of an Aussie classic, they call it "Mont Blanc." It consisted of cold brew with orange syrup, topped with a vanilla-orange cold foam, finished with grated orange zest and nutmeg. I would never order this again, personally. I usually love vanilla orange in my coffee/espresso drinks, however this one really missed the mark for me. The orange tasted too forward and slightly bitter. Even the first sip from the lid, I knew I wouldn't be able to drink this down (I don't like wasting drinks or money). I offered it to my mom, who usually enjoys this sort of flavor profile as well, and it was a huge miss. She couldn't drink it either (nor could my brother who also ordered the same one as me). Within 10 min of driving with it, it had separated and looked very unappealing. Next time, I would maybe request their tangerine cold foam on a regular iced latte. I finally love citrus with my drinks-- maybe this one would be more up my alley. Or wait another month for different specials. Since it's been a while, I would love to come in the day time-- we came around 5:33 pm ! They close at 6pm which is pretty cool since most coffee shops close at 2-3 pm. The workers were very kind and welcoming despite us coming near closing time & the music was very nice. They have a handful of interior seating and outside seating as well! Despite the one drink being terrible, I wouldn't write them off for that -- they have a large menu and lots more for us to try! Come swing by!
