The popcorn chicken was delicious; crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The boba tea was refreshing and delightful. I tried both a fresh tea and a milk tea, and neither disappointed. The flavors were well-balanced, consistent, and not overly sweet, which I really appreciated. I highly recommend stopping by and giving this place a try!

Mr. Bean

Got the Mr. Bean and it was a bit too sweet for me, but I like the flavor, reminds me of the 7 leaves drink. The boba was too soft for my liking. Wasn't too busy on a Saturday afternoon and it's nice how they are open late. I remember coming a few years ago and getting the popcorn chicken as a late night snack. Also had the BTS drink before, but I remember it also being on the sweeter side. Interior is clean and has a decent amount of seating. Plenty of parking

Menu

A lot of unique flavors and cute shop with good amount of seating but here is why I took stars off: - half sweet was still quite sweet - the boba texture was a little too soft for my liking - we got no ice and there was a significant amount of liquid less. I guess I shouldn't be surprised but it seems like they could've told us ahead of time so we weren't surprised about it. - we were the only ones in the store but it took quite a long time to get our drinks

Tried the boba here because it's next to the hotel we are staying at. This place is small and had tons of decor inside. There are small tables and a seating bench. We ordered the king Kong (milk tea with coconut jelly, egg pudding and boba) and the avolanche (avocado slush with coffee jelly). Their milk tea is really good and the combination with the jelly, boba and pudding works well together. I really enjoyed it. The avolanche lacked the prominent avocado flavor (per my husband). He would've liked for it to taste more like avocado. He also didn't care for the coffee jelly that was inside. For him, it just didn't go well with those two flavors combined. The shopping plaza that it is what crowded, so we just ended up walking over from our hotel. Their parking lot is shared with other restaurants and businesses.

Large Thai tea with boba

The main appeal to this place is their late hours especially on weekdays. They're open from noon till midnight so if ya need that late night boba run! I recommend the Thai tea. It was really good and had the right bitter tea taste. The boba did make it sweeter for my preference, all their drink come preset with toppings so ya'll have to let them know adjustments. Also the large was huge!

Old review: taken nov 2020 Mr. bean w boba: Comes w crystal boba. I really like the thick texture along w the pandan flavor. The boba was pretty decent. Dynamite fries: Pretty good! I like the furikake on top. Popcorn chicken: This tastes like kfc popcorn chicken w some chili powder on top. Nostalgic. There could be more spice though. Phoenix: Way too sweet. Strawberry lemonade: Same. Super sweet. Rosebud w boba: Really nice rose flavor. I'd say one of the better rose milk teas in San Diego! Boba is good. Bora bora: I don't think I like the peach milk tea combo and this was supposed to come w butterfly pea tea.

Cute little boba shop right next to Brute Force Games which my husband and I enjoy stopping into to see what new board games they have. Luxe has a pretty extensive menu for those who love a variety of options for drinks and snacks. The interior isn't large but accommodating for a decent number of guests. The decor is very nice with a beautiful set up for those Instagram-able moments and pictures! I ordered a very standard Thai tea and my husband ordered the Fiji tea. On first impression of the Fiji tea it was very green and full of toppings, and reminded us of one of those cocktails thay usually do not blend well with the sheer number of ingredients in it. My husband wasn't exactly a fan unfortunately. The excessive toppings and mix of fruit flavors were a miss for him. Most flavors were muted or completely washed out, and the toppings were a little much. I ordered a Thai tea which was good, however it was very sweet. For the future I know to definitely cut the sweetness down by at least 50%. Would I come back? Maybe since it's it a good location and does have quite a few boba items I enjoy On their menu.

Cute lil boba spot that's open late, which is super convenient. Lots of options to choose from. I recommend the fried Oreos, if you're really craving something sweet nice staff and clean store, I'll definitely be back!

Aloha and Golden Tiger
Sharon L.

Below average drinks, prices, and ambiance. The entire boba menu was filled with artficial looking colors and flavors. We got the Aloha and Golden Tiger. The Aloha was actually an okay fruit tea, but $6.50 is really steep for a regular ($8.50 for a large!?!) The Golden Tiger tasted pretty artficial and not worth $7.50 in my opinion. Lots of other boba places around that are cheaper and better quality tea. The service was fine and our drinks came out decently quick. I saw some other reviews that thought the decor was cute but it just felt really overdone and tacky to me. There are lots of Lunar New Year decorations around but the furniture and decor pieces all felt pretty cheap and didn't fit well together. Lots of parking available which is a plus. Overall, not a spot I would want to spend time chilling at.

Menu as of Jan 2025

PARKING: Parking is plenty! It's in a strip mall type of location. I went later in the evening and there were lots of spaces to park. SEATING: Definitely a space to hang out for people who want to chill. There's less than 5 tables if I remember correctly. But it didn't seem like many people were staying. You could though if that's more you're vibe after ordering boba. SERVICE: Quick! The woman helping was nice and greeted me. My milk tea came out quickly as I even got the XXL size. FOOD: I got an XXL Bora Bora for around 7$. Not a bad price for the size! Unfortunately, it does taste more milky than expected! I know some people like it that way, but I'm a bit picky. Not bad for a new boba shop though. The crystal boba was really good! Would come back to try their other drinks if I was in the area. OVERALL: Nice pit stop for a new boba shop! Liked the vibes and can't wait to try out the whole menu if possible!

Golden Tiger & Luxes Coffee / Vietnamese Cofee
Jenifer B.

Great boba and service here! Brian was super nice and helpful and made us feel very welcome coming in. My boyfriend and I got the golden tiger and subbed boba for the topping and a Vietnamese iced coffee. Both were great drinks and the boba was good too. They have really cool items on the menu so I'm excited to go back and try more!

Solid boba. Decent price. My daughter loved the variety of flavors of the boba pearls.

Dead bug

am very upset writing this review. My daughter recently ordered a drink from LUXE Boba, and after she drank most , she discovered a bug inside her cup. She was in tears. No parent wants to see their child excited about a treat and then completely horrified moments later. This is not a small issue. Finding an insect inside a sealed drink raises serious concerns about cleanliness, food handling, and overall quality control. We have photos documenting exactly what was found. I understand that mistakes can happen in any business, but food safety is not something that can be overlooked. Customers should be able to trust that what they are purchasing is prepared in a clean and sanitary environment. I hope management takes this seriously, reviews their food safety procedures immediately, and ensures this does not happen to anyone else. I would appreciate a direct response from the business regarding how this will be addressed. Very disappointed.

Are there gluten free options? I saw your menu on Postmates- many unexpected items were labeled GF. However, your website doesn't mention GF at all. I was so excited but it's prob too good to be true. I'm Celiac & don't want to get my hopes up.

Do they have oat milk? I don't like non-dairy creamer.

Hi Samantha, at Luxe Boba all the milktea are non-dairy, and I also have soy milk or almond milk as an alternative as well. I just don’t have oat milk. Thank you

Will you ever bring back the durian drink? it was my favorite and one of the main reasons started coming here :'( still come here lots, just miss my fav drink!

Hi Melanie, thank you for supporting Luxe always. And yes, you can always request your fav durian drink “Sweetie” is the name for that drink. Whenever you order online or in store, tell the cashier person you want to order “Sweetie”. Even if online…

Does the kitchen close at a certain time?

Hi, Luxe Boba’s kitchen stay open until closing time posted. Except on some family emergency events, then we’ll post it that we’ll close early. Otherwise you can order foods up to closing time. Thanks

Is the non-dairy milk vegan? I know non-dairy could just mean casein free, which still comes from a cow. Does the non-dairy milk come from an animal?

I'm not sure but they also have soy and almond milk available as alternatives.

Do they have popping boba or just tapioca pearls?

Hi Melinda, yes we do have popping boba. Strawberry and lychee flavors. Thank you

Do you use high fructose corn syrup on your drinks?

Hi Krystal, to answer your question, No, we don’t use high fructose corn syrup or any fructose corn syrup whatsoever. We’re a family boba shop with my family recipes and we cook our sugar in house so our sweetness level is not crazily sweet compare…

Is the sweetie made with real durian/syrup/powder? are the ingredients sourced high quality or towards a teazone/a brand like teazone?

Sweetie is actual durian. All of their drinks use the actual fruits. They live up to their name and make sure that their ingredients are quality. Tea zone is nowhere near Luxe Boba standards.

Any dairy substitutes for the milk teas? No soy as well?

All milk tea are non-dairy except Thaiger (Thai Tea) and Marble, but you can always ask for almond or soy substitute

This is such a cool spot…read more I love a good coffee shop, even more so when they have more than just coffee. Easy does it has simple but delicious beverage options including coffee, matcha, hojicha, pastries and open face bagels. All delicious. But in addition to that, they also sell plenty of packaged goods like a copious amount of high quality take home coffee beans from some really amazing roasters, matcha and hojicha powder, snacks (like shiso sour cream popcorn), spreads, and tin fish. The shop itself is huge with plenty of seating and tables, making this a great coffee date spot or remote work location. Their branding is really cute and unique which adds to the overall vibe. We even experienced a cool pop up on the weekend when we first went! The service is also really great. Everyone is kind and helpful and the wait it never too long.

It is a TRAVESTY... that I haven't yet written about the…read morecoffee shop I've dedicated my life to over the past year, because... well, like I said, you will always find me here! OVERVIEW Come for the equally balanced, delicious coffee AND matcha drinks; the spacious work setting; the side entertainment (like a free bookshelf + camp chairs outside), and incredible ownership. Be prepared for hard parking during peak hours (lunchtime) and possible lack of seats (especially during schooltime). DRINKS It is RARE to find a shop whose matcha is on par with its coffee; normally, one is better than the other. Easy Does It, or EDI as we affectionately call it, is pro at BOTH. With coffee served from Provecho, matcha from Nami and hojicha from Paru??? You just hit a trifecta of GOOD good. Our Typical Order: 1) Iced Earl Grey Latte - omg, I LOVE the earthiness that the earl grey syrup brings to the matcha. Matcha, to me, is either too grassy or too sweet; the earl grey syrup makes it a perfectly earthy balance. 2) Honey Cinnamon Latte - how good could a standard coffee shop latte be, you ask? They have the HCL at almost every shop, and it's not usually standout. EDI, again, blew expectations wide open. Their HCL is balanced: sweet without being saccharine; and you can actually taste the cinnamon. 3) Hojicha Latte, Hot - omg, there was a time when I ordered almost one of these A DAY. Again, another sleeper - if you like the taste of coffee but can't take the caffeine (for a late night drink, perhaps), a hojicha is a good choice. It has that grounded taste that coffee gives, and the hot version of it is like a HUG for your mouth and stomach. They also have cool inventive flavors like the Matcha Cloud, the Coconut Cream Cloud (which is a coffee cloud on top of coconut water, I hear it's refreshing), so you'll never get tired of the drinks they have here. I also want to mention that they do serve wine and beer, too... so there's something for everyone! FOOD Spend any time in a coffee shop and know... you're gonna get hungry! Thankfully, EDI has open-faced bagel sandwiches AND pastries here, all of which look mighty tasty; all of which I cannot partake in, since I am gluten free. But ohhh, gluten warriors unite! Thanks to the partnership that is Jacob of Made for Mei Mei Mochi (aka the protein mochi) and Easy Does It, you'll have your PICK of 5 different flavors of homemade, chewy, ooey, DELICIOUS MOCHI -- SANS added sugars and preservatives you normally find in the store. I'm telling you, I don't normally like mochi (it tends to be so sweet) but I love the texture. And Made for Mei Mei hits it all! Flavors include: 1) chocolate hazelnut -- which tastes like Ferrer Rocher, yum 2) ube 3) green tea / red bean 4) black sesame 5) pb&j (yes, he's stocked peanut butter & jelly, a fan-demanded flavor) My favorites are #1 and #4; sometimes I go for #2 and #5 to mix it up. Either way, I spend WAY too much on these tiny li'l treats I might as well become an early investor. AMBIENCE This place is perfect for computer work as light doesn't directly fill the whole space. I like a li'l shade when I'm staring at a bright computer screen. There are two rooms: front and back; the back is a li'l darker and more chill vibes than the front. I also appreciate that they have a free bookshelf (just replenish it with your own!), plus a few magazines scattered around (for decoration, but I still browse). I miss when coffee shops had analog media, especially for when we don't want to be glued to our screens. EXTRA CREDIT Easy Does It also offers their shop as space for community events. From mahjong with No Ambition Tile Club to wine and jazz nights IN SUM THANK YOU Easy Does It ~ Grace, Nancy, the sister I haven't met, Eugenia, and the entire team ~ for creating a lovely third space where I can work, enjoy my snacks / drinks, meet friends and co-work, and have a great conversation. You make it so easy to feel welcomed, and I'll forever be grateful for you :)

Wait outside on the sidewalk (no exterior seating) and someone will come to take you inside. Do not ring the door bell. The theme is to take it slow. Each customer typically waits 20-30 minutes to enter as part of how they do things, even if there is open seating inside. Not sure if they use a timer to space entries but it seems consistent. They take one group in at a time. Interior: A few tables around the wall and then bar seating. Would not recommend for parties greater than 2, there just isn't the space. They welcome service animals, babies/children and strollers from what I observed. The music was very, very loud. It was difficult to hold a conversation. I did not see a bathroom. Ordering process: After seating you wait for a little bit for them to bring small water cups and a QR menu with a table number and a set of rules. They do not have a physical menu, you must use your phone to order. Cell phone reception was dicey and took a long time to load. They have an interesting concept where you have a digital 'tab' open on their toast website. Unfortunately you must provide your full name, email and phone number. They have pour over drinks (note these can take 15-20 minutes), matcha, Hojicha and others. You may only order one drink per person at a time. They have a small snack menu with rotating foods. They use oat milk only. No substitutions allowed. After mobile ordering, drinks take 20-30 minutes as part of their take it slow vibe. Matcha $8 is from Paru tea and was very good. Hojicha $8 was too milky and didn't have a strong enough flavor. When you are done you walk to the register by the door and wait to be checked out. If they are making a drink you wait until they are finished. I wasn't really a fan. Staff were brusque. Music was too loud to converse.
