In situ at Royal -Where's the beef at?!!
    Alex K.

Thanks to my recent visit to Royal, I am no longer a virgin (to a Northshore Roast Beef) anymore! I am a Northshore native but amazing enough only became privy to Northshore Roast Beefs a few months ago. I never realized that it was "a thing." Thank you to Micheal "The Real" Imondi at his YouTube channel for getting me privy to this succulent Sammie. IYKYK. If you don't know -I tell ya: A Northshore Roast Beef is an onion bun and sliced rare roast beef with James River BBQ Sauce and mayo and an American cheese slice. The Sammie is often called a Super Beef or a King Beef here at Royal. The BBQ sauce is applied wicked heavy doody whereby the Sammie is lambasted with a huge bolus of sauce blopped on top and then the top bun is put on. It's a big boy and sloppy AF one. Royal is a scrappy little joint and shows her wears of many years of hangry eaters. The staff was nice, and they know their stuff. This beef was melt-in-your-mouth and sliced thinly AF -merely a few femtometers in thickness. This Sammie was epic. And it's the real deal here. Unique despite its simplicity. It's a pricey puppy at 16 bucks for the King Beef. Worth every penny. Five stars here, bro. Peep it out, YELPERS! See you all in the Noth Shaw !!! NOTE: A legit NRB MUST have a mile-high pile of roast beef. CORRECTION: This review is for the Stoneham location and not the East Boston location.

This has to be the best roast beef sandwich I've ever had! I ordered the super beef combo three-way plus horseradish, as another yelper recommended it, and it was phenomenal! Very fresh and made with high-quality ingredients. I highly recommend you stop by on your way in or out of Boston!

I ordered from Royal Roast Beef and Seafood via Uber Eats and had the steak bomb with mayo, lettuce, tomato, and peppers. The food was fresh and plentiful, providing enough for me to enjoy throughout the day. I would definitely recommend this place and look forward to trying more items from the menu next time I'm in the area

Not as good as it used to be! Given Royal 2 shots post re-opening and I have to be honest and say I'm disappointed. Both times, the beef has been over cooked and a bit crispy. It also seems like they chop it up after shaving it which isn't common for a New England roast beef sandwich. I've gotten a different type of fry each visit. While there cheapest fry option is $4, which is kind of expensive, it's definitely a 2 person serving. The old fries werent anything to write home about but certainly not bad. The new fries were soggy, and not cooked nearly enough, or perhaps at the correct oil temp. I wanted to like Royal again but sadly , there are better places to go in the area.

Dry well done beef lacking in sauce and Mayo. Not the best 3 way in the area. Could use improvement.

Went on a date with a broad who said this was her favorite beefery. I had to investigate the matter. Nice people and they appeared quite busy, but the beef game is not happening here unfortunately. Perhaps they have other delicacies that rank high, the 2 junior beefs I ordered were not.

This is hands down the best roast beef I have ever had! It was full of flavor and juicy and the meat was so tender. I subbed onion rings for fries and it was a huge amount. They were pretty good. The menu has so many options I feel like there is something for everyone!

I'm an actual customer who manipulated about not a bot from marketing purposes. That is all.... We originally came to Revere Beach for the food trucks... only to discover we'd timed it perfectly to miss them. ‍ Plan B was Drift, and I'm genuinely glad things worked out that way. We grabbed seats at the bar, where one of the bartenders took care of us. The service was outstanding--attentive without hovering, refills appeared before we realized we wanted them, and every request was met with a smile. We weren't exactly running up the bar tab (I think our group had one drink each), but we were treated like regulars. That's becoming a rare thing these days. The food was equally impressive. The salads were perfectly dressed, and the fish tacos were fresh and flavorful, though I would have loved just a little more acidity. A few dashes of Tabasco brought them exactly where I wanted them. Dessert deserves its own standing ovation. The olive oil and grapefruit creation was bright, unexpected, and absolutely delicious. But the undisputed star of the evening was the mushroom gnocchi. The truffle hits you hard at first, almost making you wonder if it's too much. Then, almost magically, the flavor evolves into something rich, earthy, and incredibly balanced. It's one of those dishes that keeps changing as you eat it--and by the last bite you're already wondering when you'll order it again. Funny how missing the food trucks ended up being the best part of the evening. Drift wasn't just a backup plan--it was the highlight of the night.

We had a large party and few kids so decided it would be more comfortable inside. We got a semi private room initially so that was nice. Another party came in halfway through which was fine. Service was excellent. Our server was attentive and checked on us often. Got all our orders correct and was very polite. Surprisingly the truffle fries were my favorite. Very crunchy and just the right crispiness. Fried calamari was also great with the right level of crispness and mixed jalapeños. The swordfish had no flavor and was bit dry. I should have expected this but wanted to try regardless. The dish had plenty of strong supplemental flavors trying to enhance the flavorless dish but wasn't doing it for me. Overall not a bad place to take friends or date if in area but I would not go out of my way to come back.

One more thing, (and please don't tell them) the prices on the excellent food they have there are nowhere near what most places charge, including ones nearby. We stayed at a hotel nearby and ordered take out. Our burgers were fantastic, the onion rings are to die for, and we really enjoyed almost every appetizer they had over the next two days. The only negative feedback I have at all is that they're stingy with their ranch. They left it out of both take out orders we placed. I had wings with no ranch, fried pickles with no ranch, it seemed like it was being treated as liquid gold and maybe it is, maybe that's why I'm so salty about it! Lol. Seriously, don't pass up the wings or the onion rings.

After making a reservation, the three of us arrived shortly after noon to find the restaurant completely empty. In fact, there were no staff in sight. After calling toward the kitchen, a waitress appeared, and we seated ourselves. After ordering waters and iced teas, we looked over the extensive menu and chose: * Ay Caramba! ($16) - A vegetarian tapa packed with corn, peppers, spinach, mushrooms, and more. * Margherita Pizza ($18) - Garlic confit, fresh basil, vine-ripened tomatoes, and fresh mozzarella. * Panko-Crusted Baked Haddock ($32) - Served with roasted potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and a white wine cream reduction. The Ay Caramba! was the standout dish of the meal. It was flavorful, with a great texture, and easily our favorite. The Margherita pizza featured a very thin, crisp crust with fresh tomatoes and a light touch of sauce, making for a good but not exceptional pizza. Opinions on the haddock were mixed--one diner enjoyed it, while another thought it had a slightly fishy taste. The restaurant itself has a pleasant, inviting atmosphere, and once service began, our waitress was friendly, attentive, and checked on us several times throughout the meal. At almost $100 with tip, this isn't an innexpensive place. That said, we enjoyed lunch and would be happy to return. Tip: Metered parking is available on the street and there is a small parking lot next to Valsos. You can also park further down toward the beach, about a 5-minute walk to the restaurant.
