Definitely a hole in the wall that's a must. -Seating hostess was great, very polite. There was not a table ready so she very quickly cleaned one for us. There is only a handful of tables available. -Server was same person, it is not her fault they were out of all cold black and green tea. But why not go get instant so you have a substitute? When she took our order she also did not ask a spice level. Luckily that meant no spice. The next tree tables she also did not ask spice level. - I had the drunken noodle, the vegetables were all raw, barely warm. There was hardly any noodle either. Tons of beef pieces but hardly any noodle.

I've lived in Anchorage my whole life and eaten at just about every Thai place in town: this place has THE BEST fresh rolls, fried rice, and Thai Iced Teas over any other Thai restaurant in Anchorage! Their fresh rolls are loaded with fresh vegetables and they typically contain fresh mint as well! I can tell that they use quality ingredients and they don't include any of those filler rice noodles (which I have never cared for personally). My only minor complaint is that you only get 3 total but that is likely due to the higher cost of quality ingredients and no cheap fillers. The fresh rolls do typically come with some traditional Thai sauces that are not my fav so I always substitute the sauces for sweet chilli sauce instead. I love that they also are able to substitute coconut milk in their Thai Iced Teas and it tastes very creamy and fresh! Their fried rice (while a bit pricey) tastes like it was freshly made and is always very flavorful! I get the shrimp fried rice and the shrimp it contains are quite large instead of the usual mini-shrimp I have seen at most other restaurants. I also typically order their crispy tofu appetizer and love how perfectly crisp they come out on all sides! Their restaurant is very small so wouldn't be suitable for dine-in if you have a larger group but I've always gotten take-out and my food is usually done very quickly (aside from the odd occasion when they are very busy, like some weekend evenings).

I was very impressed by this Thai restaurant. It's a little hole in the wall and my favorite food is curry so I have a goal of trying all the Thai places in Anchorage. I have not been to all of them but so far this is the best. The curry was Which filled with Picts and flavor and was perfect! Also bag rolls and noodle dishes were perfect as well. We got our food within minutes of ordering. I recommend this place as a quick go to to get awesome Thai food.

We were kinda craving some Asian food after being on vacation in Alaska for 9 days. We saw various Thai, Sushi, and Vietnamese restaurants around but this one caught my eye on Yelp so we decided to give it a try. Overall we were very satisfied with our dishes with regards to taste. I ordered the Pad Gra Pow and they unfortunately ran out of basil! I agreed to having it without basil but you can imagine that it didn't taste as it should have. The pad Thai was slightly sweet but not overly so. The pad see ew was good but the portion seemed a bit small. Overall it was solid but not as good as one could find in the Bay Area.

My mother ordered a roast duck for Thanksgiving and it was severely overcooked and dry. It was expensive too at $45. We will not be returning.

Thea is so amazing! Me and my boyfriend loooove this place. THE best fried rice but Thea & her aura and kindness just makes the place all the more better. 100000000% recommend.

The food at Royal Thai was very good. Nice to have something other than salmon (Salmon is GREAT in Alaska, just not interested in having every day). The young woman who waited on us did a very good job. The casual ambiance made it a comfortable place to eat.

Praram. Peanut sauce, fried tofu, spinach and veggies. Good but a little soupy.

Royally good Thai food. Hyuk! So, a couple of colleagues and I got take out and tried a few different items. Gang Kua, Param, and Pad Thai. I got Param with fried tofu. It's fried tofu, spinach and veggies, covered in peanut sauce. Friend's Gang Kua is pineapple curry and smelled delicious. I want to try that next. Dude said his Pad Thai was good, and thought peanut sauce would make it better. Only complaint, and it's a small one, the curry and peanut sauce was a little soupy. Food from order to pickup was relatively fast, though there also wasn't anyone in the rant at 11:40 and they open at 11. Will order from again.

A small dining area, great service and food. They offer new drink options two days a week and we ordered one. Our orders came out at a reasonable time, not too late. When we arrived they were busy and we thought that we would be waiting awhile but that was not the case. Say "hi" to Charles for us, he is usually the cashier, server, kitchen helper, and owner. Let them know that I sent you there!

May 21st 2020 Wifey and I had take out from here today. We ordered the Pad Thai, fried rice and chicken Satai. All three were very delicious. Best fried rice I've tasted!

Why was my ordinary portion of Pad Thai $19? I wouldn't go back--about $5 too expensive per dish. Too bad.

The presentation alone deserved its own spotlight, with vibrant colors, thoughtful plating, and that "don't touch it yet, just admire it" kind of appeal. The salmon panang curry was hands down my favorite. The salmon was perfectly cooked tender, flaky, and rich sitting in a velvety panang curry sauce that balanced creamy coconut with just the right amount of heat. The flavors were bold but beautifully harmonious, with a depth that made every bite better than the last. It's the kind of dish you immediately start planning to order again before you've even finished it. The tonkotsu miso soup was equally impressive. The broth was luxuriously rich and full-bodied, with that slow-simmered depth you hope for in a great tonkotsu. The miso added a savory complexity that made the whole bowl incredibly comforting. Every spoonful felt warming and satisfying perfect for an Anchorage evening. Beyond the food itself, the overall experience was wonderful. When a restaurant manages to combine stunning presentation with flavors that truly deliver, it stands out and RickShaw absolutely delivers. I'll definitely be back... and next time, I won't forget the photos.

But tonight, after going to a different Thai food restaurant, who are now takeout only, which is a no-go, I needed an alternate, so I randomly selected from Yelp, a good Thai food recommendation, and when this appeared, I realised it was the place where I'd gotten the good Massaman from. However, their description states they are noted for their standout Panang. The interior is ok, not fine dining, standard tables and chairs, not too cluttered with artwork, and music was playing. As I also love Panang, I chose to have that with chicken, and husband ordered something called Khao Mu Dang. We also ordered a Thai Tea. The server was energetic, and smiled a lot. We didn't have to wait long, I was served a hefty portion of rice, and a big bowl of curry sauce. Mine came out first, and I started without him. I must say that I do agree, this is standout Panang, and it's the best I've had in Anchorage. It's just the right amount of kick. Just enough to get my nose running after a few mouthfuls. The sauce is amazing, and the chicken is plentiful, and very tender, and I do have leftover sauce and rice in the fridge for later. If it were served on its own as a soup, without rice, I'd call it "Chicken Soup for the Soul" because it surely did my soul good, even eating it alone without rice. Superb, perfectly spiced, perfectly seasoned, deliciously umami. I think I could eat this several times a week, and not feel cheated. His dish had some pretty spectacularly flavoured pork, it was delicious, and the sauce, yet again, so good, but his was what they call a "dry dish" whereas mine was "soupy" or maybe they call it wet. I don't know, all I know is, that the amount of times I was saying "mmmm" was kind of embarrassing. So, that was an absolutely delightful dinner, and I'm grateful because we'd not been anywhere in recent weeks that thrilled me like this. Will definitely be back for more. The Thai Tea was also very good.

This one also had imitation krab, which is fine but not my favorite. The side dish of garnishes was kind of weak, just bean sprouts, lime and jalepenos. I wish it had cilantro. They must have been out of basil that day too, because we didn't get any with the pho. I want to find a seafood pho with fish cake or house made seafood balls. I think I maybe set my expectations a bit high since moving from Hawaii, every pho place there is a peak experience. My husband tried the beef brisket massaman curry which he thought was very watery and very light in the spice department, which he didn't like much. However our child loved her small kid size chicken pho and we all loved the mango smoothie. It's one of the most flavorful smoothies with perfectly thick blended consistency that you can still suck up the straw. Ambiance is kind of old, dank, dark, and dated but also holds some oddly charming quality nonetheless. Service was straight-forward. Special s/o to the man who welcomed us in, immediately fetched a high chair for our child, and then also helped me with my giant diaper bag which he didn't have to do but was very appreciated. I bet he's a dad.
