we have boarded dogs here for 24 years and ONLY here. The owners of Royaltons had Rhodesian Ridgebacks. nobody had heard of this dog breed 20+ years ago. We have ridgebacks now because of Royaltons. I was pleased with how friendly the staff was over the phone & in person. The facility was very clean & the other dogs seemed at ease when I entered. My dog was not anxious upon entering, & she is a nervous dog. I paid for a few of the extra play times, peanut butter treats, etc. She was there for 6 days. When I picked my dog up, she was in good spirits, but was completely raw, pink raw, all around her nose & mouth. I didn't notice this until I got her home. I'm not sure how this happened. Very clean facility and friendly, professional staff. The owners should be proud of how they represent you. Duke and Nico didn't want to leave after I spent a long weekend in Costa Rica. They were bathed and nails done so it was a spa weekend for them. And the pricing for the Presidential Suite is very, very reasonable. Please do not raise your prices! Highly recommended. read more

Really heard good things about this place. Called this afternoon to see about reserving a spot for my kitten while I go on vacation next month. Right off the bat the receptionist was rude I wish I would have gotten her name. She short answered me and sounded irritated with the questions I was asking. I knew I could have looked online but I was planning on going ahead and making reservations until this conversation. I understand people have bad days but that was unacceptable. She ended the call with "ight bye". I really don't want to judge this place because of their receptionist or whoever answered my phone call but I will not take my fur baby to a place with unprofessional staff. The person answering the phone is the first person customers interact with it should be a good experience not one that leaves a sour taste in your mouth. read more

I had such high hopes for Royalton... We are new to the area (relocated military family) and were looking for a kennel and groomer for our Kya. Royalton was near and most of the bad reviews were two years old so surely they had fixed whatever was wrong back then. Long story short after a trip to the vet, back to Royalton to let them know what the vet said happened, and then back to the vet our Kya has $150 vet bill with two types of medicine for two weeks and she has to wear a little cone of shame. (See the pics below...) My experience upon my return to Royalton to let them know what happened was not what I expected compared to my first experience when I first dropped Kya off at Royalton. I understand a business denying and disavowing any and everything but I did not feel they even cared about what they had done. So yes a big disappointment but we are happy that it was nothing permanent and Kya will probably get better. read more

I love how they treat my dog when she is groomed even though she's a whiner. They do such a good job.

I used to LOVE this place but my feelings quickly changed. The prices are great and the staff are super nice BUT i did not like how the handled a situation with my dogs. I picked up my 2 dogs and one (super nice and loves everyone and every dog. Never gotten in a fight in his life) had open scratches all over his noise. I asked what happened. They said nothing. I said that they're dogs things happen but just let me know so i can treat it the right way...to this day they said nothing happened. There's scars on his noise to this day. They also kept two of my blankets bc they "misplaced" them. read more

This place is terrible. Our dog Bella spent 9 days with them. When we dropped her off she was happy. When we picked her up she was miserable. She had wounds on her neck and a serious case of kennel cough. This place is terrible and needs to be SHUT DOWN!!!!! read more

Never again! We used this facility regularly for years in the past. No more after this visit. Upon our return from a trip this weekend I was greeted by the manager Joyce. She greeted me outside the office today and said..."you know we don't open until 5:00, [it was 4:45] but I guess I will LET you get your animals". The customer that arrived 5 min after myself was not greeted in the same way at all. I was over charged on our last visit by $60.00; and then given a bill this time that belonged to another client for $399.00 when our actual bill was $205.00. When I explained to Joyce the manager that this bill was a mistake and she over charged me last time, she could only say..."yea but you got that back". I did get the $ 60.00 credit but I had to drive to the business in person, she couldn't or refused to do the credit over the phone. Our dogs smell like feces and urine. read more

We have been boarding our dogs at Royalton Kennels for several years. I should have left a review much sooner! We used to go to a "suite" location in the east end. However, after one of our dogs was diagnosed with diabetes, we could not return to that facility since they do not give shots. We visited numerous facilities who could give shots and Royalton was by far the cleanest, friendliest boarder we found - and they actually know how to treat a diabetic pet. When we pick up our dogs, they are happy but not the "get me out of here now" kind of happy. This is because they are treated like family by the great staff at Royalton. This kennel is way better than that "suite" location we used to use - better pricing, better staff, better care! I would suggest visiting the kennel prior leaving your family member here. When you do, keep in mind what is important about a boarder. To me, it's cleanliness, attention of staff, and how the animals being boarded are being treated. If you base your decision on the reception area, you're likely to make an uninformed decision - I prefer a kennel who uses their earnings on the actual kennel areas. I'm new to the area and Royalton is close by. Being quarantined for months the family decided to take a vacation. I boarded and had my fur baby groomed while we were gone. The prices are fair and the service is even better. The manager Joyce is very friendly and treats my baby like her own. I was nervous given that I am I first time boarder but every time I called to check on my baby staff was very friendly assuring she was well and enjoying her playtime. My grooming was great as well, the groomer Shayna is very professional and friendly. She gave my baby exactly what I wanted!! Safe to say she came home happy, looking and smelling great! Dropped our dog off when we on a trip for 4 days. We are new in town, and had never brought our dog to Royalton before. Our dog takes an anti-anxiety medication twice a day, which helps with his nervousness. I talked to the lady at the front desk, and wrote down instructions for giving him his medication. I'd put his food, medicine, and a toy bone in a bag so they'd have it all together. When I picked him up, they gave me the bag bag, and I looked at it briefly on my way out the door. Everything seemed to be there, but when I got home, I realized the anti-anxiety medication wasn't in the bag. I figured it was just a simple mistake, so the next day I called the office to see if they could find the medication and mail it to me. I got no answer, so I left a detailed message saying who I was, what medication had been forgotten, and how they could get ahold of me. They never got back to me. I called several more times, but it went to an answering machine every time. I had to go to our vet and get a new prescription for our dog's medicine. That's an extra $40 we had to pay since they clearly lost a brand new prescription bottle of medication. Needless to say, we'll not be going back to Royalton Kennels. read more

We needed a place for our two Havanees for the night and also for grooming. Well what can I say, when you come in you see cats in their cages. We came back the next day to get our two dogs, they where shaking and no grooming, they told us they could do the grooming right now, at 3 pm they close at 4pm. One dogs takes at least one hour. No, next time they will not be on our list for our babies. read more

We dropped our dog and cat off for four days while we went out of town. Our dog is almost 15 and going blind, so we told them everything they needed to know and that we would like her to have special attention if they could. It was the first time we boarded our cat also...who is very spoiled. We told them about her and what she needed. They were wonderful!! We are so happy with them and our experience, we will use them every time we go on vacation. Prices were excellent...and they took great care of our babies. read more
