From the moment you walk in the door you feel the warm atmosphere as you are greeted by staff and begin to see and hear and smell the things which contribute to the culture of this facility. The staff obviously share a common mission, purpose, goals and truly care not only for the residents, but for families and for each other. The facility is always sparkling clean no matter what time of day you arrive you find your family member and their surroundings fresh, clean, neat and tidy. In addition there is a lovely secure outdoor area (seasonably available) with a lovely gazebo, which can be accessed from the living room and it is a lovely place for families to visit with their resident. I have witnessed many residents enjoying this area last summer and my mother in law especially enjoyed this area. I cannot express the level of gratitude that I feel towards Raluca and the staff. My mom is so much more content, she's more talkative and cheerful, and she's healthier now than she's been for the past few years (I think it's because the food they prepare is so fresh and healthy). Miriam the nurse is so attentive and caring and Raluca really understands the needs of her residents. The whole staff is so helpful and kind. It just feels positive there - it's always extremely clean, it smells good, and all the residents seem calm and happy. I couldn't recommend it more highly!

I couldnt leave either on alone. Moms doctor suggested putting her in a memory care facility. After visiting Monterey Court I made the decision to place Mom there. 2 1/2 years later when my mom passed away the nurse would not leave her room until she passed over. The activities director at the time Heath, got his guitar and sang for her amazing grace. This is a top notch facility and the staff are absolutely phenomenal. The director Amy is extremely caring and loving and works well with the family. Again this is a number 1 A+ + + + + + facility and very secure for your loved one.

We were interested initially due to the social media posts about it being an active community, which was a huge selling point for us. We ultimately did not choose to move our grandmother here due to lack of communication. They would request something, and then go silent for weeks at a time. Fast forward, and I'm now a nursing student looking for part time work. Arcadia came up and I decided to apply, heard back immediately and scheduled an interview. I'll keep my experience short but my "interview" or lack there of with Austin Black was something I have never experienced in my decade in healthcare. It will make a good dinner conversation for years to come. Overall, a sloppy facility plagued with poor communication, inconsistent follow-through and seemingly incompetent leadership.

Whenever we gave my sister a present it would disappear immediately. My daughter sent her a Christmas present and it did not get to her until we asked where it was. I gave her a lovely blanket for Christmas and it was gone within the month. In March as she was near death they moved her to a double room and all of her furnishings disappeared. When we asked where her chair and small table had gone they didn't know. The table had been built by her grandfather in the 50s and was a family heirloom. As we continued to ask where it was they eventually said it had been taken to the dump. I was horrified. When they were asked to pay for it and said they had, the check never arrived. It is now July and they are currently saying the check is in the mail. There needs to be some tightening up around residents belongings. When a person has Alzheimer's they don't know they are being taken advantage of.
