SO MUCH TO THIS HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE JESUS Peña PUT US THROUGH!! I hired Jesus Edwin Peña "Doing Business As" Royalty Home Improvement on January 19,2025 to remodel my entire home excluding the bedrooms consisting of removing a load bearing wall,complete kitchen remodel including countertops,adding an island along with new countertops,bathroom remodel,new lighting throughout the house,fresh paint throughout the house including ceiling,new painted baseboards,fireplace & redoing attic door. Jesus Edwin Peña DID NOT START WORK UNTIL April 7 2025 ALMOST 3 MONTHS LATER! He originally told me the project would be completed within 8-10 weeks! As of October 20 2025 the project I hired Jesus Edwin Peña to do is about 98% finished! Throughout this project we were living out of the garage as our whole entire house was dismantled!! WE DID NOT EXPECT THIS TO GO ON FOR 9 MONTHS! NOT ONE TIME did Jesus Peña work a 40 hour work week or did any of his employees ! If his employees did showed up they were only at my home for a few hours & in most cases did NOTHING! Jesus even asked me to pay his SUB CONTRACTOR $2,000 otherwise his electrician wouldn't come back over to finish because Jesus Edwin Peña was not paying him! Jesus Edwin Peña never showed up on scheduled inspection days instead choosing to have his employee be here to interact with the city inspector causing us to fail many inspections! If & when Jesus Edwin Peña would answer his phone or even show up at my house after days & weeks with no work being done I would express my frustration with his INCOMPETENCE & FAILURE TO COMPLETE THIS PROJECT IN A TIMELY MANNER! I checked his contractor license before I hired him & decided to check it again & it is CURRENTLY SUSPENDED! I made a complaint with the California State licensing board and with his bond insurance company. I am a very easy going guy & I was very patient with Jesus Edwin Peña but he REFUSED TO CHANGE HIS WAY THROUGHOUT THIS PROCESS! Up and coming contractors. Jesse and his team did a great job replacing our undermount sink with a farm-style apron-front sink. The complication was the crack in the granite around the sink, which his team was able to resolve in a talented fashion. We really like the result. When I noticed a leak the following day, Jesse was at my home and fixed it the very day. Jesse is easy to work with and is very knowledgeable about building codes and local regulations. He is also good with thinking out of the box and coming up with clever solutions. His sub-contractors are really pros, but I knocked one star off for the confusion that existed between his sub-contractors and the delays it caused. Absolutely hands down the best contractor I've come across. Jesse is on time, professional, polite and has superb skills. I had door mouldings and baseboards that were destroyed by my pups. Three other contractors wouldn't touch it, Jesse custom made it to fit, and it did perfectly. Once he was finished, he said he wasn't happy withe size screws he put into the shutters, something I probably wouldn't have noticed. He came back the next day and made it good. Jesse was a major help with our bathroom tile project. We shattered our bathroom sliding door, which then broke a collection of shower tiles underneath the door. Jesse was responsive and communicative throughout the estimate and installation process, he even stayed late one day and repaired some extra broken tiles that I did not expect him to fix. I never have left a 1 star review or even rarely feel its necessary to voice feedback that is negative but after Jesse damaged my existing items in the house by hiring a cleaning service that had absolutely nothing to do with my main concern of cleaning the glass panels of the recently installed staircase is why this is necessary. I requested multiple times over the course of more than a month to have the glass panels cleaned from his installers leaving obvious residual streaks and grease marks and from failed attempts of himself trying to clean the glass the response was met with basically me now having to find someone myself to clean something up that he is responsible for. On top of that his attempted goodwill of trying to send "Molly Maid" to clean the glass was a disaster since now they have damaged my sink and my media console by using abrasives. This is a brand new home with unscratched items to begin with. Its been 3 - 4 weeks. I had specifically told him I do not need or want a maid service to clean my house and only want the glass he installed to be addressed. His solution to all this......to avoid my multiple phone calls and texts spanning the course of now almost 4 weeks requesting kindly for the damaged items to be addressed. Instead of remedying the situation he is electing to have no communication. The reason this is so troubling and obvious for his avoidance is that before, during my stair installation when he required payment for his work his communication was instantaneous. i don't have enough words or time to put all the other worksmanship incompetencies that occurred during install. I do have pictures that show my glass still unremedied with all the other things damaged in the house. Even the staircase railing has defects in the iron. They changed up the design of the staircase from what i originally asked and said the engineers changed it. when I asked for proof, warranty and also if there any papers that validate the installation is up to code, Jesses solution again is......LETS NOT RESPOND to the customer after messing up. For an up and coming contractor this unfortunately is not a good reflection. read more

I reached out to this company on a Saturday when the roofing company working on my house found a rotted structural board and weren't licensed to continue so they told me to call a general contractor and also find a new roofing company to finish the tiles. Royalty home improvement called me back same day, had an estimator out the next day and 4 days later it's fixed and looks great! Cost was 1/4 of the cost from another company I got an estimate for. They were very respectful and understanding to my needs, I'm a woman and felt overwhelmed prior to the consultation, but after speaking with them they took their time and answered all my questions.
