The mechanic looked at it and didn't think this was the problem, he suggested to look at the sprocket bushings, a common failure item. Turned out it was the bushings ($6 part). Saved me the expense of the differential part ($160 part). Good to know that they are not looking to sell you expensive parts that are not the problem. Trust in repair service is rare these days.

It would overrun the bin. He came back and bent that wire that is supposed to trip the stop, but it has never worked right. I have to manually flip it down when I get ice now or it won't make more. He replaced the belt on our dryer and it has made a ton of noise since. He says it is fine. Nice enough guy, but he was not great at what he did. ===========Update================ The dryer stopped heating this week so I bought a heating element and when I opened it up to install it found that Don had not bothered to reinstall all of the screws he took out and he had installed the drum belt upside down with the smooth side facing the drum.

So I was referred to this shop by a reputable shop that was retiring from the trade. I brought the…read morean older Ariens due to drive not engaging and sputtering when running. Charged me $40 right off the bat. Calls me and tells me what is wrong and I ask him to try and repair it. Says he will check on parts. Calls me back and says he can't get parts and the machine can't be repaired due to this. I told him I would just come and get it. I pick it up and spend 10 mins with it. The drive wasn't seized!!!!!! It was just stuck and needed to be greased. Ran old gas out of machine and put VP 4 cycle in and runs like a top with drive now working. Feels like they saw an older machine and didn't want to deal with it when they can just take the money from the deep pocketed town folks. Won't be going back. They should be ashamed of this. Will not recommend them for repairs or anything else for that matter. ZERO Stars rating( made me leave something)
