When a guy of this caliber tells you that he'd rather you buy a new snowblower (not from him---he doesn't retail), rather than have him do a full tune up your solid 20 year old Sears Craftsman, you have to listen. He explained, patiently, that the new (2019) octane boosting additives in commercial gasoline degrade the gaskets in the old engines, and nonetheless did everything he could---which was a lot-- to improve my situation, charged a very reasonable fee, and kept me safe. Call him BEFORE the "season," both for snowblower and lawn tractor tuneups, because part of his impeccable business ethic is to NOT take on more work than he can competently handle.
