Started off great with friendly greeting from the manager? He was very helpful in suggesting what we might try and pointed out a combo special that both of us ordered. Food was hot and prepared fairly quickly. My mexican corn and shrimp taco was very tasty. The opposite was true for my steak taco. It had overcooked beef bits, tough, not very tasty. I managed two bites before throwing it away. Wife's fish tacos were tasty and she enjoyed them. Self serve salsa area was stocked with hot and mild choices that were ok and self serve drinks were plentiful and good. Overall cleanliness was not good...every table top was sticky and big turnoff. Had to scatter several napkins to make ourselves a place mat to set our platters on and still felt uncomfortable with how the table was. The place needs a crew to come in and spend a few hours cleaning everything; windows, floor, tables, table dividers, et. I added shrimp to my High Fiber Bowl and it was so good!!! Everything was super fresh. The service I felt very rushed by even though the actual preparation time was a little slow. I was excited to try their fish and chips... one of my favorites. Things did not go well from the get go. The user interface on their app is not great... could not get it to play so I could get my $5 coupon. The gal in front of me had similar issues. Ordered the fish and chips... oddly the fish was tough... not flaky like usual. The battered coating had TONS of pepper in it... others mentioned it as well. The fish was also quite oily. Look, cooking is stressful - I get it. But come on... have some pride in your work. Someone really looked at this chicken and cheese and said "yeah thats fine, send it out." Really? Burnt, pure black, hard-as-rock chicken? And flat, melted, pathetic cheese? Run! Do not walk if you've never tried Rubios. I haven't been able to look at Chipotle the same since first going to this place. I went for the lobster bowl since my sister raves about it and it seems to be limited time offering. OMG!! I got so sad when my bowl was empty. This bowl is absolutely delicious. I had to leave off the chipotle white sauce since I can't have milk, but the main attraction is the garlic butter they give you to go on top. We were out shopping and my guy was getting a little hangry, so I hustled down Sunset in search of something we would all enjoy. I saw Rubio's and whipped my truck in. Boy, I'm so glad I stopped here. The cashier welcomed us and waited as we made up our minds on the menu. We were first timers and had several menu questions, the cashier was very patient and assured us that she was ready when we were. After paying for our meal, we took a number and found a table. They have a salsa bar, so we got our salsa and sat down. Our food was on the table in about 10 minutes. I had the Burrito Especial with Impossible meat... yummy, yum, yum was it good. I had to do a double-take at my Burrito to make sure it wasn't real meat, that's just how delicious it was. My son had the kids quesadilla, and my spouse had the Burrito Especial with chicken. My burrito came with a side salad; the salad dressing was so delicious I'm going back just to see if they will let me buy dressing for my homemade salads. Overall, our food was tasty and everyone was very satisfied. Reasonable prices, clean restaurant, and friendly staff. We will definitely return. Recommend! read more

A little over a week ago, I placed an order for three items. One of the items was a dish I have ordered a few times before with salmon, so I thought I would try the Mexican Street Corn Bowl with USDA Choice Steak this time. The photos I've posted are exactly what it looked like when it arrived. What a mess. And can anyone see any steak in the photos? Does this look like it's worth $16.86? I called immediately and spoke with the manager. She agreed to let me re-order another time BUT I only had two days to do this before the restaurant transitioned to a franchise. Whatever that means. I didn't have an opportunity to place that order within two days so I lost my re-order option, although GrubHub is supposed to be returning my money for that dish in full. I have not seen that in my bank account yet There's a huge problem with the particular Cook/chef who prepared this $60 order. And a problem with quality control in general. I don't usually review fast food or quick service, but I had a great experience at this location :) I called at 8:30pm to place an order over the phone because I didn't want to come in right before they closed and be "that guest". The girl on the phone sounded so unbothered and sweet. At the end I said I hadn't been in since Covid so I'm not sure the salsa policy but I want the green salsa and the brown colored one. When I got there I paid in cash with change, she didn't mind. Told me my food would be up shortly and I said absolutely no rush. It was out within a few minutes with my salsas on the side. I was greeted upon arrival and the food was ready. I got a lobster burrito for the hubby he will have tonight. I had an impossible quesadilla with all the fixin's on the side.
