This visit was no different. Ordering was smooth, and they even brought the food out to our table, which we appreciated. I ordered the shrimp nachos, and we also got another order of shrimp nachos for the table. My brother went with a chicken bowl due to dietary restrictions, and my husband ordered a burrito. Everything tasted really good overall. The only downside for me was that the shrimp nachos didn't have as much shrimp as I expected.Just a few pieces here and there. Aside from that, the flavors were on point with the sour cream, pico de gallo, and cheese. The ambiance is casual, clean, and relaxed. Perfect for a quick bite with family. It's a bit overpriced for what you get but the flavor was really good and customer service was pretty fantastic. My surf and turf (shrimp and steak) bowl had sliced avocado on it that was past its prime. I think they should do better quality checks to prevent that. Came in today with a coupon and the cashier had to ask her supervisor about it due to it not popping up. The supervisor with red hair then proceeded to continuously snatch my phone and have a rough attitude. I ordered my food anyway and can hear her making comments in Spanish about me and my order because she assumed I didn't speak Spanish. We frequently went to Rubio's. It had been about 6 months since our last visit. The last Super was a tall gentleman, extremely friendly and came by everyone's table to make sure your order was correct, most of the time he served the plates!! First sign something had changed, the front window, states a change. We walk in, 4 ladies were there. A Super, 2 waitresses and a cook. As we walked in you heard, "welcome" that would be the last greeting from anyone. We order fish tacos. The fish was cooked too long. Tortillas were on the cold side. What I noticed, was as soon as our order was taken, the Super sat down with food. I've never seen a Super sit. My mate was disappointed with the food, as I was. He said, "I won't be coming back." This was our favorite place for authentic fish tacos. Unfortunately, they lose.. the ambiance was the ladies at the register talking and laughing. Bad situation, the Super did nothing.. Food was really good! A surf and turf restaurant. They have some good salsa options but none are super spicy... most are mild. The food was good. We got the taco and burrito combo. It came with a fish taco and small shrimp burrito as well as a side of chips and beans. It was really good but the price is steep for the food. They recently raised the prices because for the one plate it cost $16 dollars. While it was good, it was not worth that for one entree. The service was good and the staff was friendly. The service is still top notch and they made me feel comfortable even though I took forever to order, thinking I was going to change my order and be adventurous...NOT...I stayed with what I like...the young lady at the register was completely patient with me...and I appreciated that...their tea is still fresh brewed...salsas are hot and spicy like we like them...this is one of the places we enjoy visiting when we have to come to Lancaster and I'm glad to see they have not changed...well worth your time and money. While getting over an cold, I had a hankering of some delicious fish tacos. On our way back to the desert, we found this store on yelp, which is surrounded by many other restaurants like Little Caesars, Panera Bread, Applebees, etc. We stopped by on a Sunday night and noticed a few other customers there waiting for their food. I only noticed about three employees working and one on break. One thing that caught me off guard was the cook refilling the lettuce into the container and then smelling the bag of lettuce, pause and then laughing while his co-worker watched him. The place was clean for the most part and some of the salsas needed to be refilled. I ended up getting two fish tacos and was disappointed by the end of it. The fish seemed to have been cooked more than once and tasted full of oil. The other Rubio's I've been to have never tasted like that before. I'm sure on a busier night, they make the food a bit better but for now, I'm going to skip this store. read more
