I ordered the veggie tacos with roasted sweet potatoes (skin on, which was absolutely the right call), pepitas, feta, and all the right toppings. Whoever prepped those sweet potatoes deserves a raise because they were cut into the perfect sized pieces. Every bite had a little sweetness, a little crunch, a little saltiness... it just worked. My dining partner ordered the barbacoa tacos, and I didn't even have to ask if they were good. The involuntary "Mmm..." after the first bite answered that question. Four tacos disappeared in record time, followed by, "I could've eaten two more." That's about as glowing of a review as you're going to get. Now let's talk about these tortillas. Handmade. Corn. Tortillas. Are you kidding me? They're the kind of tortillas that had me question every tortilla I've ever eaten. Soft, fresh, and somehow they manage to steal the spotlight even with everything else on the plate being so good. The chips and guacamole were excellent, too. The chips have to be made in-house and they disappeared at an alarming rate. The salsa that came with them had this smoky, fire-roasted, chipotle flavor that kept me reaching for another chip... and then another... and then suddenly I realized I'd eaten way more chips than I intended. The bottled table salsas deserve their own paragraph because they completely confused me... in the best way. They bring three to the table... a green, a red, and a darker red. I kept tasting them individually thinking, "Okay, these are alright." Then I started mixing them. Game over. On their own, each one was solid. Mixed together? That was the magic. I don't know if that's what they intended or if I accidentally stumbled onto the perfect combination, but from that point on, every taco got the salsa trio treatment. The only tiny hiccup was when we first walked in. We were greeted, asked if we wanted menus, and sat ourselves. We waited for a bit thinking someone would come take our order, only to realize it's actually counter service. Once we figured that out, everything was smooth sailing. Not a big deal at all... just something first-time visitors might want to know. Follow the sign "order here" I also loved the layout. You can actually watch them making the food, which somehow makes the wait even harder because everything smells incredible. Two tacos ended up being the perfect light meal for me. Could I have eaten ten? Absolutely. Those two statements can both be true. Meanwhile, my dining partner polished off four barbacoa tacos and was talking about ordering two more. We only ended up here because another place happened to be closed, and honestly, I'm glad it worked out that way. This ended up being one of those meals we keep talked about on the drive home. Oh and the bathrooms?. I walked in and immediately thought, "Whoa... this is a cool bathroom" The lighting had this pinkish-purple glow that made me feel like I'd accidentally wandered into a trendy lounge instead of a taco shop. I honestly wasn't even sure there was regular lighting in there and I didn't look... because the vibe seemed so intentional. Finally, the music. .. upbeat, dance-worthy, the kind that had me bouncing in my seat while waiting for my food. Between the atmosphere, the lighting, and the music, the whole place had me want to hang out a little longer. Zero regrets. I'll absolutely be back... and next time I'm ordering more tacos.

The meat was cooked extremely well, with a great char on the outside while remaining moist and tender inside. I personally thought it could have used more seasoning to really make the flavor pop, but that's a relatively minor criticism. I'll definitely order it again because seasoning can sometimes vary depending on who is cooking that day. The chicken tikka, however, was absolutely perfect -- 5/5! The chicken had exactly what you want from grilled Middle Eastern food: a beautiful char on the exterior while remaining incredibly juicy and tender inside. I wouldn't change a thing about it. The sides were also 5/5 across the board. The rice, hummus and salad all tasted remarkably fresh. The hummus was smooth and creamy, and the salad had crisp vegetables that tasted like they had just been cut rather than sitting around waiting to be served. Everything on the plates worked together really well. The restaurant is located in a plaza that certainly isn't the fanciest or most upscale in N. Tempe, so don't judge this place by its surroundings. Inside, Kabizza is clean, comfortable and casual, and ultimately the quality of the food is what matters. I also thought the prices were reasonable considering both the quality of the food and the generous portion sizes. The gentleman who took our order was friendly, and our food came out surprisingly quickly. This Restaurant ROCKS! Per Maricopa County public records, this restaurant received NO VIOLATIONS during a routine health code inspection of the restaurant last week. Considering the thoroughness of these inspections, and the fact that most restaurants receive at least one violation, having a perfect inspection says a great deal about this establishment. The girl at the register with the glasses and curly hair came off very rude. Just silent as we were wondering if she was ready to take us, I then asked the question "are you ready for us" and she ignored me only then to look at my partner. When we placed our food to go. Same girl called out our number and then immediately walked away as we approached the counter when my spouse and I had questions. I was going to ask if it comes with cilantro and onion and limes. We stood at the counter waiting for someone to help for a couple mins. Overall just a weird interaction that left a bad taste in my mouth. I doesn't seem like she enjoys her job but she should not be working with people in the front as she doesn't have the customer service skills or hospitality. I've been working in these services for 8 years and I could do better job than whatever that was. I noticed other customer reviews have the same complaint. she should be asking "I can help who's next or are you guys ready to order! Let me know if you have any questions" very minimal effort. HOWEVER, on a different note. The carne asada tacos were delicious came with a good amount of meat, it was flavorful! And the rice and beans were equally as delicious. The pastor tacos were good as well same idea as the carne. The asada fries were undercooked but flavor was decent.
