I normally get the Breakfast Supreme Burrito (bacon, egg, ham, potato & cheese) and it's pretty consistent. This time around, I branched out to try their Green Chile and Eggs for $8.58. While the green chile sauce was amazing, it was a pretty lean burrito. I'm glad to have tried it but I think I'll stick with their Breakfast Supreme Burrito. This is one of my brother's go-to breakfast spots in Tempe, and I'm so glad we got to check out their new location during a recent visit to AZ! They moved just five minutes away from their last location, but it seems like a serious upgrade for the staff and the customers alike. I love that they offer their full menu right when they open - my husband and brother ordered breakfast burritos while I went right for the Burrito Supreme with chicken. My company catered in some breakfast burritos and mines was really good. The tortilla had just enough chew and I could tell it was made fresh. I had a chorizo and potato burrito with no eggs. I know, criminal. However, I dislike eggs very much. The chorizo was really well seasoned and I appreciated the potatoes being crispy and fried. If I could give the Tempe location of Burrito Express 6 stars, I would. I've been a customer of other locations for years (mainly the Elliot Road one ) and always find the food solid. You can tailor your burrito to suit your tastes. Meat is always tender and the breakfast options (even sans meat) always satisfy. Earlier today I ordered 2 burritos using the website. I accidentally placed the order with a location on the other side of town. I showed up at the Tempe (Broadway and Rural) location and of course they didn't have my order. Totally my fault. We visited them for the second time this past weekend. Never again. I ordered a green chile burrito, that was on the menu for like $7.39, I was charged $7.99. Then I made it a chimi & the menu said a different price than what I was charged as well. While we were waiting for our food, some people came in with a bag and said that they were missing a burrito. The young man that was working proceeds to look at the bag and tell them that that is not their order. The young man proceeds to call out the number and give the food to another set of customers, the correct ones I am assuming, even after the fact that the people who came back with the food had already left and come back. You never know if the people did something to the food or touched it. Regardless that food shouldn't have been given to someone else. We get home and I get my chimi and tell me why it's all flat. There was, no lies, like 6 pieces of small meat. I should of taken a picture but I was so disappointed I just threw it away. read more

TL:DR - Burritos are smallish (slightly bigger than value menu taco bell) but still a good value. Def make sure you get a burrito with potatoes, they are super crispy and seasoned well, a must for any burrito. Rolled tacos = overly crispy taquitos, not worth it. Inside is a bit dingy, but tolerable. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This place is the Mexican equivalent of the neighborhood hole in the wall Chinese take out spot. It's low frills with a focus on cheap and delicious food. Came in here was able to get a burrito for about $6. Most places now a days I typically plan on paying about $13. I will say this though, the size of the burrito is a bit lacking. It's a little bigger than a taco bell value menu burrito, so I may end up getting two if I came in REALLY hungry. But I came in and got a steak, potato, and cheese burrito. The steak is pretty good. Nothing amazing, but definitely not a negative. What really shines here are the potatoes. They are perfectly crispy and seasoned which adds good flavor and crunch to the overall burrito. They don't get soggy and are essential, I won't get a burrito here with out them. I ended up also splitting an order of three rolled tacos with my friend since the burrito wasn't the most filling. But the rolled tacos are essentially taquitos but with a SUPER crispy outside and very little filling. I don't think I've seen anyone ever order the tacos, but I may try that to supplement the burrito next time. The place itself is no frills like I said before. I do wish it was cleaned a little more often, most of the tables were a tad sticky as if it's constantly just wiped down with a wet rag without any actual cleaning solution. Used to love this place. Each time I come here the burritos seem to get smaller!! I am only getting potato egg and cheese most of the time and they just seem to get smaller each visit. Not to mention, there's no potato egg AND cheese option on the menu so it's usually a hassle ordering with the cashier since the potato & egg burrito is more expensive when you have to add .70 cheese. Instead I ordered breakfast supreme burrito with no meat since it has cheese and they always give attitude saying you could just do this you know that's just potato and egg and I know it's only saving me a few cents each time but it's more of the concept, I'm just simply taking out an ingredient.
